“On arrival at Beacon View, we were personally welcomed by the owners, Mark and Theresa; who were very friendly, and took the time to provide some useful suggestions on things to see and places to eat in the area.”

The location of the cottage is delightful, being set on 11 acres of pristine farmland, with chickens and goats, and a view of the Cornish hills. If you’re looking for a rural and peaceful retreat, then Beacon view should tick your box. It is also in a perfect location to visit St Ives, Falmouth, Mousehole, Charlestown, and all the other key locations you can think of around Cornwall. The cottage is a perfect space for a couple, with a design that retains all of its original rustic charm but adding modern comforts, such as great WiFi, a Netflix enabled TV, and an Alexa connected to Apple Music. My wife and I spent most nights listening to music playing the great selection of board games provided, whilst watching the sunset from the window. The facilitates are brilliant, with a powerful shower, comfortable bed, and a brand new kitchen and utensils. The cottage is also eco-friendly, and essentially off grid. This is a real bonus for us as we both try to be ecologically aware as possible. Overall I would highly recommend staying at Beacon Farm if you are visiting Cornwall as a couple. The owners are absolutely fantastic and are willing to answer any questions and offer extensive advice during your stay. The cottage itself is comfortable, clean, cosy, and in a perfect location for getting around. As a personal recommendation, we also suggest you visit the Star Inn situated in Porkellis for dinner and drinks one night. The food and service is fantastic, and the owners are a hoot! On a final note, Sykescottages were an absolute delight to deal with. The selection of cottages on offer is outstanding, and the service really has been above and beyond. They also provide you with a great app you can download making viewing your booking, and activities in the area an easy experience. I will be using Sykes for all my cottage bookings going forward. Thank you all for a brilliant holiday!
