“We absolutely love this apartment.”

From the second you open the door it is so fresh, light and spotlessly clean. This was our second stay at 2 Spindrift. I like to have a week in Cornwall with all the family then a week to relax. Rolling up the blind in the mornings to the crashing waves is magnificent, as is watching the breathtaking sunsets. Just a hop across the road and down the steps to Whipsiderry, great beach for surfing or body boarding, or a short walk down the hill to Porth. We were lucky enough to see two large starfish in shallow rock pools at Whipsiderry this year. When the tide is out you can walk all the way to Watergate Bay. If holidaying without a car or just wanting a rest from driving, the 56 Newquay to Padstow bus stops just outside the door. Newquay is also within reasonable walking distance for the fit. The apartment itself is so well equipped that it has everything you could possibly think of and more. The decor, in keeping with the period of the building is a nice touch. It is so obviously cared about as are the people who stay there. Very comfortable beds and crisp, white linen. I always feel very indulgent with my own en-suite bathroom. Lashings of hot water. There is also a tap outside to rinse off sand and wetsuits. Hose attachment in cupboard. We love the walled garden which is a great little suntrap. I don't know who this terrible neighbour is as mentioned in previous review but the lady above was very nice and friendly on the rare occasion we crossed paths. We didn't see anyone else. It was very peaceful. To sum up, whether it's country walks (huge pine cones up the lane), walking the coast path, bat watching, braving the surf or snapping the action from the safety of the cliff.....or not so safe feeling from the bridge when the sea is rough, more exhilaratingly scary : D... or just watching the ever changing sea and sky from the comfort of this wonderful apartment, I don't think you could ask for more.

“Settees a bit tired and not that comfortable.”

Mould on brown blind in main bedroom and around window. General facilities excellent, views over sea wonderful. Can do nothing about noisy road.Neighbour above at No 4 unpleasant, even her neighbours confirmed that with us so it not just us. Loved the appartment generally so can understand repeat bookings . Maybe a "small welcome pack" might be a nice touch?

The icing on the cake was that there were plenty of extras. We’ve often stayed in places where, if it sleeps 6 there are 6 plates, 6 sets of cutlery etc., here there were ample provisions.

“Lovely stay fantastic view and location.”

Well equipped accommodation. Only one down side is the parking the residents park correctly but other visitors don't one car took up two paces. Very nice patio area which was a lovely sun trap. Helpful owners. Would highly recommend this property. And we will book again

We enjoyed the location and view which was amazing all of the flats facilities were more than adequate we could take nice walks and other areas were not too far away to visit only one small point we believe that the parking at the rear could accomodate more than 6 perhaps marking areas out

It was in a good location for us as we love the walks and it was easy to get to newquay without taking the car. Have to say having a run along the headland to Watergate bay was fantastic . We were also lucky enough to have the most amazing weather not the usual 4 seasons in one day I expect going to Cornwall at this time of year. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.

“Spindrift is perfectly located for Whipsiderry beach, which is where we like to surf, therefore making it the best place we have stayed in Cornwall!”

Donna was lovely and gave all the information we needed in a nice e-mail which we printed out and took with us. There were a couple of lovely little details such as a HDMI cable ready for use out the back of the TV (so you don't have to try to insert one) and a hose attachment with a shower head to hose down wetsuits and surfboards. The only downside we found was that the hot water was just enough for the two of us to have 5 minute showers, but this could be due to using it in the morning to wash the dishes, so we had to ensure to use the boost. We will definitely be booking again for our next visit to Cornwall - especially knowing it's dog-friendly as we'll have a little one to bring with us!

“Spindrift is not just a ‘let’ , it’s a home.”

Breathtaking views and sounds of the Atlantic Ocean. Spacious and clean, airy comfortable, what more could you wish for? You can arrive with just your clothes, and a trip to the local Sainsbury’s and that’s it . Every item you may possibly need is in the kitchen. The heaters are more than efficient, water to the bath is glorious and the shower is a head massage in it self. If you enjoy the elements (in March) long walks across astounding scenery, Spindrift will not disappoint.

“The apartment is not soundproof.”

We were expecting noise from a neighbouring building site (as warned about in the advert), but we could also hear noise from the flat above, especially a dog whining every morning for ages after its owner left it at approx 8am. Otherwise the apartment was lovely, well presented and well equipped. The position is absolutely stunning, exactly as advertised. We had a problem with one of the heaters but the caretaker very efficiently brought us a replacement within a very short time. Apart from the noise from upstairs we could not fault this let. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment, but future renters might consider using earplugs at night!

Also very well stocked with appliances, kitchen equipment etc. Great location on the coastal path & amazing view from the living room/master bedroom. The only thing we found was that the walls & ceiling were quite thin, so we could hear people to the side & above, which was quite loud at times.

Communication with the owner was excellent. So enjoyable to sit in bed drinking the morning cuppa looking at the sea ! Then in the evening sit in the lounge watching the sunset over the sea and the Newquay headland. Recommend.

Ideally located to venture further afield, most places within an hour of the apartment, and great views from the lounge and front bedroom windows, great beaches across the road, and great walking over the road on the coastal path, must be fantastic on a summers day, which we hope to find out soon. The apartment is a credit to the owner, Donna, we have stayed in numerous places in Cornwall and Devon, but this has to be the best so far, and you can take your dog ! Highly recommended.

There was a fabulous view from the large living room window, especially at sunset. It is close to some lovely beaches which don't get as crowded as the ones in town. There were great walks straight from the door along the coastal path.

The property is in a fantastic location with excellent beaches and walks. There was a good pub down the road with excellent food and it was close to the lively town of Newquay for shops and again superb beaches. As a dog owner this was a top class holiday for out of season, meaning dogs were allowed on all beaches.

Spindrift is a superbly-appointed, ground-floor property resting within the small seaside village of Porth, on the outskirts of Newquay.

Newquay 1.3 miles; Truro 15 miles.

Porth is a small seaside village on the outskirts of Newquay. The village offers a shop, cafes, restaurants and a pub on the sandy beach, plus nearby is the South West Coast Path, which boasts spectacular scenery. Watergate Bay, with its rolling waves, surf schools, cafe and pubs, is a short walk away, and the popular resort of Newquay with its beaches, watersports, pubs, restaurants, zoo and aquarium is well worth a visit. Fistral Beach and surf centre are three miles west of Porth, whilst the surf training school at Lusty Glaze Beach is actually within the village. The charming fishing village of Padstow, along with Bodmin Moor, the city of Truro, Falmouth and the world-famous Eden Project are all within easy reach, making Porth an ideal base for a Cornish getaway.
