The property

Nestling in a truly un-spoilt area of countryside just a few miles from the spectacular North Devon coastline and the glorious flat sands of Westward Ho, the working farm of Winscott Barton offers visitors the opportunity to experience life on a real working farm.

You can be in the thick of things at lambing time or relaxing by one of the lakes, casting a line or simply contemplating the local wildlife, where at night time under a canopy of stars unblemished by city lights, an array of nocturnal creatures including owls, foxes and badgers can be watched as they emerge under the security of darkness.

Occupying the wing of the original farmhouse, the other side being occupied by the owners, The Barton offers spacious accommodation where families or groups of friends can gather in comfort.

The open plan lounge has a lovely timeless appeal retaining many original features.

A large corner leather sofa invites you to relax in front of the wood burning stove standing in an impressive natural stone inglenook, the centrepiece of the room.

To the rear of the room a dining area furnished in attractive rustic oak creates a perfect opportunity for families to dine together.

A spacious kitchen leading off the lounge is well equipped with plenty of storage and all the modern appliances to guarantee and effortless holiday.

Three spacious bedrooms on the first floor offer versatile sleeping arrangements to suit most parties, the front bedrooms enjoying far reaching views over the beautiful countryside, lakes and beyond.

To the front of the property a play area with picnic benches is shared with the two other smaller holiday cottages on the farm, and offers children and adults to chance for some outdoor fun and relaxation.

Children will love the fact that lambs and sheep will often join them while they help cut the grass!

For those who wish to try their hand at Clay Pigeon Shooting all the equipment is provided and clays can be purchased at just 40p per shot.

Those who prefer a more peaceful past time coarse fishing is available for adults and children just a few minutes walk from The Barton and stocked with thousands of fish.

Children have been known to catch a tiddler every minute on good days and it's the perfect way to keep the whole family amused whilst they enjoy the great outdoors.

A holiday at Winscott Barton can be the perfect outdoor adventure for all the family, however if all you wish to do is unwind and relax, the peace and tranquillity of this special destination will have you hooked and guaranteed to want to return in years to come.

There is plenty of parking on the lane outside the farm.
