what a fabulous place Stonerush Lakes is. 70 odd lodges spread over 28 acres and 3 large lakes yet you have plenry of privacy and seclusion due to the placing of the accommodation. We spent a week there and only saw other guests when eating at the on-site restaurant 'The Old Mill.' We couldn't fault 11 Lake View, you have everything you need for a great stay and the two meals in the restaurant were fab. We turned up on the Wednesday evening thinking we wouldn't need to book and it was busy. The lovely chap who runs front of house said we could wait half an hour or so, so we sat at an outside table on the decking next to one of the lakes with a drink and just enjoyed the evening. Definitely worth pre-booking though. Communication before our stay from Sally was first class and the welcome from Laney on the day we arrived was lovely. On our way down in the car she noticed we had a child on the booking so rang to ask if we needed the cot making up however as our daughter is 17 we politely declined! Our week spent in Cornwall was great from start to finish. You're ideally placed to visit beaches and attractions not only along the south coast of the county but also those in the north, St Ives is just over an hour's drive. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stonerush Lakes and 11 Lake View and we look forward to staying in one of the other parks owned by Charter Oak.

About the location

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
