“We enjoyed a lovely week in this cosy cottage with a handy Furze Stores nearly opposite, a beautiful scenic walk to the nearby pub The Bush Inn and The Rectory Tea Rooms.”

The cottage was comfortable but very cold when we arrived. There is a problem behind the fridge-freezer that has been mentioned in other reviews, I hope the owners can get this sorted because it leaves a dirty water smell throughout downstairs but as soon as we plugged in the handy radiators and warmed the cottage through, and sprayed some scent, the smell was much better and didn’t ruin our stay at all. It wasn’t cold enough to put on the wood burner, Furze Stores has logs but I expect in the colder months that a supply would be in the cottage ready to use. We read that there was no toaster so we brought our own with us, crumpets and cornish cheese is heavenly! We couldn’t work out how to use the tv, but we did a lot of reading instead, and the internet was excellent to listen to Youtube plays on our phones, and watch films on our tablet. There is a number to ring for queries etc and I know they would have helped us sort the tv but we didn’t miss it so we didn’t bother. We didn’t use the twin room but it looked very pretty and comfortable. The main bedroom bed was very noisy when you turned over in the night, after 2 nights of disturbed sleep I stuffed a cushion down the back of the headboard and that solved the problem immediately, after that we slept like logs! Even though there is a damp problem in the wall it didn’t ruin what is a beautiful very old thatched cottage with lots of quirky things in it, and its in a beautiful setting, everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming. I wouldn’t hesitate to return at any time of the year, it fulfilled all our requirements for a stress free break in a picturesque old cottage and we’ve returned home feeling very relaxed and content from our week in beautiful Cornwall. I would give it 5* if it wasn’t for the damp problem, I hope this can be remedied as we would love to return one day.
