Such beautiful surroundings and yet close enough to walk into such a friendly town centre. We were fortunate enough to meet the owners who were so lovely and thoughtful. It is a shame this property is being taken off holiday rental market. I would have stayed here again.

There was a minor problem (could happened on any property), which was resolved the following day. So, credit to the owners who both listened and responded. Great access direct to open moorland via footpaths (a couple it oif minutes walk). This direct access means you are on the edge of town, however, it is quiet. Tavistock has shops, play areas and walks to boot.

If you've not been to many of Sykes cottages however, you would be very difficult to please if you weren't impressed by this one. A very attractive and comfortable bungalow with stunning scenery moments walk away and so many places to visit within a reasonable drive, if you can drag yourself away from the Moor that is.

Very spacious. My wife and I and our dog loved it. Tavistock centre is a short distance away. The surrounding area has plenty of activities for everyone young and not so young, active and not so active. We did not expect fresh flowers, scones, jam and cream when we arrived. The garden is a real bonus and we took every opportunity to sit on the patio area. The beds were really comfortable. All in all a very good and enjoyable holiday and we would happily return.

I was less impressed with the fact that one of the neighbours obviously has a key to the garage and entered the garage whilst we were in to check what was in the bins to put them out!!! I found this a little disturbing and wondered if they had other keys to gain access to the property??? I had already decided that we weren't putting the bins out on Friday morning as we had only arrived on Wednesday night and there seemed little point since there was only paper in the bin, so no point in putting an essentially empty plastic bag out.

Step out of your front door and just a few paces away, through a quiet, residential close will bring you onto the wild, open moorland of Dartmoor National Park.
From here the green valleys, rivers and high Tors beckon to be explored whether it's on foot, two wheels or on horseback.
For golfers, the moorland course is literally around the corner from Edgemoor, albeit you may need to share the green with a sheep or two.
A region famous through literature and more recently film, the beautiful landscape of Dartmoor is peppered with pretty hamlets and traditional inns, that make welcome watering holes for weary hikers.
Join Drakes Trail in Tavistock, a 21 mile, traffic free route, that takes in some of the most beautiful and inspiring scenery in the county.
A gentle 20 minute stroll from the property will take you into the centre of the market town of Tavistock, where a visit to the daily pannier market will allow you to sample some of the best local produce available.
The town boasts a vast array of independent shops, tea rooms, cafes and award-winning restaurants and is always busy with events happening across the year.
For days out, visit Plymouth and stroll around the famous Barbican or enjoy a picnic on the Hoe.
Visit one of the many National Trust sites close by, including Buckland Abbey, Castle Drogo, Cotehele House and Gardens and Lanhydrock House. Nestling in a quiet cul-de-sac, with the moorland to the rear, Edgemoor is an immensely comfortable and welcoming three bedroom detached bungalow.

The garage offers ample, secure storage for bikes and walking equipment and parking for two cars is on the driveway.
Tavistock Golf Club, 5 minutes walk away, welcomes visitors to its course and the club facilities, including a bar and restaurant serving excellent food, are available to guests at Edgemoor without the need to join as temporary members.
