“There are simply not enough superlatives to describe The Coach House.”

We have just spent a blissful May week there, blessed with blue skies. We were warmly met by Roger and Ian who live in Pendower House next to the Coach House and shown around our holiday home. The decor, furnishings and equipment are superb. Roger’s eye for detail is immaculate. The bed was extremely comfortable and we were given a choice of pillows (feather and down or hypoallergenic). The en-suite has a heated tiled floor. Super cosy for your toes and the shower is large with easy to work ...

Super cosy for your toes and the shower is large with easy to work controls. The kitchen is well equipped if you wish to cook. We were given a lovely welcome pack of local eggs, milk, tea, coffee, butter and a wonderful coffee and walnut cake baked by Roger - that went down beautifully with a cup of tea! The Coach house is set in 8 acres of beautiful gardens. We had our own beautifully maintained private garden filled with shrubs and flowers. There were lots of cushions we could use for various seats dotted around but we could explore the rest of our gardens at will. The garden is worthy of a stately home and with the peaceful location, bird song as our soundtrack and clear skies to see the myriad of stars, we did not want to leave! Roger gave us ideas of local places to visit and great places to eat out. A text to Roger for advice was quickly replied to and much appreciated. Roger offered a dine in service where you can choose from a menu for a 3 course meal that he cooks and both Ian and Roger served it to us. On our final night we sat in the gardens and ate a truly delicious meal serves on a table in our garden with a posy of flower and candles. It was truly magical! Roger and Ian have created a truly fabulous holiday home with its own special brand of magic and serenity and one we were very sad to leave on our final day. We are definitely planning to return!

This small town and civil parish lies at the mouth of the River Fowey in south Cornwall. The estuary of the River Fowey forms a natural harbour, which enabled the town to become an important trading centre. There is a wealth of things to see and do in and around the harbour. Whether you enjoy getting out on the water, playing golf or finding out more about the history of the area, you are sure to find something to suit the whole family. Harbour cruises leave the Town Quay regularly in season giving you a superb view of the town, but for the more adventurous, rent your own self-drive boat, kayak or paddle board and explore the waters for yourselves! The town is steeped in history, so why not join a guided tour of either Fowey or Polruan? You can even join an owl experience, play golf, go horse riding or pursue your artistic talents with pottery or painting courses. There is the aquarium, museum and St Catherine's Castle, as well as Readymoney Cove, all waiting to be explored. If you get peckish, or fancy something thirst quenching along the way, there is a plethora of pubs, inns, cafes and restaurants to choose. Whenever you plan to visit, keep a look out for the festivals, fairs, markets and theatre performances on throughout the year.
