The old market town of Penzance with its long sweep of promenade, high stepped cobbled pavements and historic streets is a bustling resort. Scenic views extend across the shimmering bay to the sight of St Michael's Mount rising majestically from the sea. A tidal causeway links it to Marazion, a coastal delight with pretty cottages, safe sandy beach and inland marshland. Further along the coast is the infamous Prussia Cove renowned for the clandestine smuggling activities of John Carter fondly known as the "King of Prussia" and the mile long stretch of beach and dunes at Praa Sands.
