Porthcothan Bay near Padstow has a popular family beach with plenty of sand at low tide, as well as some sand dunes. There is one council run car park with level access to the beach. Nearby are a cafe, a shop and toilets. There are lifeguards on duty in the peak season, and dogs are allowed on this beach all year round.
