“Great home from home, plenty of space, great location to explore from.”

Very quiet and tucked away. Lots of lovely quirky features Downsides: Some elements could do with updating, but overall a great place.

The property

Incline Cottage lies in a cluster of detached properties high above Portreath's scenic cove, perfectly positioned to explore the many beautiful beaches and villages along north Cornwall's picturesque coastline.

Portreath village centres around its harbour and sandy beach popular among families and surfers.

The village also has friendly shops and cafes to keep hunger and thirst at bay after a fun time in the sunshine.

The coastal footpath south to Bassets Cove is a five mile amble there and back, with exhilarating, cliff top views.

The path to Porthtowan is a four mile trip - a famed surfing beach with golden sands and rolling dunes.

Tehidy Country Park is less than a mile away and offers a change of scenery with woodland nature trails, ponds and lakes where you can pony trek or cycle.

Incline Cottage, approached by a driveway leading down to holiday lodges, dates back to 1870 with a mineral tramway heritage.

It boasts generous accommodation over two floors with contemporary furnishings.

There are two sitting rooms, one with a wood burning stove for all season warmth, and a super kitchen/dining room for social gatherings over a midmorning coffee or afternoon cream tea.

There is a short flight of steep stairs which lead up to the two attractive bedrooms.

At the front is an enclosed garden with a lawn, and to the rear is a private walled patio and decked area with table and chairs; an excellent spot for alfresco dining or barbecue magic.

A 15 minute drive will take you to picturesque St Agnes, a coastal village with a thriving community with good shops, galleries and four fabulous, unique beaches.

Lively Newquay has attractions for all ages, and is within a 40 minute drive.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

PORTREATH

Truro 14 miles; St Ives 15 miles.

With its sheltered harbour, beautiful Portreath was, in the 1800s, a hive of activity and industry as a major tin-exporting port. Today, the village attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese restaurant, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 14 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.

Note: Stairs is a little steep with shorter than average treads.
Note: Please note there are roadworks taking place on the cul-de-sac for 6 weeks as of 1st November.
