    “Amazing place to stay.”

Close to the pub and swimming pool. The cleanliness was amazing and all the little touches were lovely. The whole property was so good and there was nothing more you could need. Had email before hand with information about the property and local area which was brilliantly informative. Would highly recommend.

The property

Situated in the beautiful Tamar Valley, within Honicombe Manor Resort, 17 Valley Lodges rests directly opposite the on-site swimming pool and clubhouse.

This is a superb location for exploring Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, as well as the pretty village of Gunnislake, the market town of Callington and many other Cornish attractions in the surrounding area.

Recently renovated boasting reverse-level accommodation, with the well-presented bedrooms occupying the ground floor, this self-catering holiday let is well-suited to families and friends.

Inside, the master bedroom has a fabulous super-king-size bed and access to the veranda outside, where you can soak up a balmy afternoon with a chilled drink and look out over the glorious countryside.

You also have access to the Jack-and-Jill bathroom from here, which has a deep-soaking bathtub to relax your muscles on return from a walk in the local area, and a shower overhead.

Next are two twin bedrooms for alternative sleeping arrangements, and a shower room finished to a quality standard, in keeping with the rest of the lodge.

Upstairs is the kitchen and living/dining room making the most of the balcony, where you can enjoy your first coffee of the day, with views out over the trees and lawn.

You have all you need to cook up a scrumptious meal and get everyone together around the dining table, before relaxing into your evening on one of the sofas.

You have both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a mini gym, tennis courts and plenty more to keep you entertained during your stay.

The Tamar Valley boasts exceptional landscape scenery in a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, marked by the ancient towns of Launceston, Tavistock, Dartmoor and Callington, each offering a variety of amenities for you to enjoy.

About the location

GUNNISLAKE

Tavistock 5 miles; Plymouth 18 miles.

The small rural village of Gunnislake lies on the steeply wooded banks of the River Tamar. It has village pubs and a small selection of shops. Notably, the village sits at one end of the scenic Tamar Valley Railway - with regular services along the river bank to Plymouth. The area is perfect for exploring Dartmoor, the south and north coast beaches and the attractions of Cornwall’s far west. Close to hand, the Dartmoor town of Tavistock with its pannier market, pubs and restaurants is a must, as well as the popular fishing village of Calstock, renowned for its crafts and festivals, while the Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT) are just 10 minutes away. Enjoy a round of golf at St Mellion (8 miles), explore the restored Victorian mining village at Morwellham Quay (4 miles), search for otters and deer along the Tamar Valley footpath, visit the National Trust owned Lydford Gorge, or take a trip to the beach and picturesque harbour at Looe (25 miles) - there’s something for everyone. For something really different, why not ride the scenic Tamar Valley Railway into Plymouth and spend the day in the fabulous Marine Aquarium or strolling the historic Plymouth Hoe?
