“A beautiful, quiet and peaceful setting with a lovely, accommodating owner.”

Some of the towels and bedding requires replacing but everything else was as expected.

The property

This is a large family house with sea views from most rooms, which was built by the owners' great grandfather in the early 1900's.

The owner still lives in the main house and lets a small cottage next to the house which is ideal for those seeking basic accommodation.

Situated within sight of the most southerly part of England and surrounded by its own 2 acres of farmland, some of which is lawn garden, makes this a most peaceful and interesting place to spend a leisurely holiday and ensures tremendous freedom for children.

It is only 100 yards from the coastal path and secluded coves, only 1 mile from the spectacular Kynance Cove.

There is a pleasant cafe nearby on Lizard Point with magnificent views of the sea and rugged coastline and the village with its interesting craft shops, pubs and stores is less than a mile away.

The cottage is a single storey stone built ground floor annexe converted from the former coach house adjoining the main house.

It is built around a courtyard with south-facing sea views.

It has a practical quarry tiled kitchen whilst the dual aspect lounge, with its beamed ceiling and brick built fireplace, is light and simply furnished.

About the location

THE LIZARD

Cadgwith 3.5 miles ; Mullion 5 miles ; Helston 11 miles

The most southerly town in Britain, The Lizard is located right at the tip of the Lizard Peninsula. The town has a welcoming community, lovely village green, parish church, lifeboat station, and a small selection of shops, galleries and inns. There is also an excellent pasty shop and the Lizard lighthouse, which has sat proudly atop the cliffs since 1751. Look out to sea from the lighthouse and you will see the Man ‘o War rocks – often completely submerged, these rocks have been the cause of many shipwrecks over the centuries. The Lizard Peninsula is unique in its geology, and visitors can take home some local Serpentine rock in the form of ornaments and gifts. The Lizard makes a great base for exploring the rest of the Lizard Peninsula, and is particularly popular with walkers and nature enthusiasts; the Cornish Chough now breeds in the area.
