“The house really smelled musty, dead bugs in the cutlery draw, squashed fly stuck to roller blind, bedding cupboard locked open (couldn't close) spare bedding looked like it had been thrown in, didn't look clean.”

Lovely area, the house was warm and dry, just out-dated decor.

Fabulous Falmouth with deep water harbour, National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and quirky gift shops, art galleries and eateries is four miles away.

The sandy beaches of Swanpool and Gyllyngvase boast good cafes for waterside refreshment.

The florally scenic National Trust Gardens at Glendurgan, Trebah and Carwinion are within easy reach of Nanparra Cottage.

Or enjoy a round of golf or don walking boots and ramble the coast path through ancient woodland.

Hire a kayak or boat and discover secret creeks and tiny coves on the banks of the River Helford, with a picnic basket or pasty.

Reward your efforts with a pub lunch in one of the waterside inns at Helford Passage or Helford Village, linked via the passenger ferry.

Nanparra Cottage has a traditional Cornish cottage vibe; the open plan living room is cosy and welcoming with exposed beams, stone hearth and squashy sofas creating a comfortable haven to return to after a day of adventure.

Enjoy mealtime gatherings around the dining table, or dine in one of Falmouth's restaurants with a sea view.

Rustle up breakfast in the kitchen and take an invigorating shower after a swim in the ocean.

The bedrooms are country casual; the master with double bed and additional single bed (fifth guest welcome on request) and the twin is ideal for both adults and children.

The enclosed paved patio at the front makes a superb sunspot for morning coffee before venturing out for the day.
