As always, we enjoyed a wonderful stay.

Greeted with a warm welcome from Phil, who ensured that all was well with the property on arrival. Beautiful views from the balcony which allowed for a welcome relax and to breathe the fresh air. Warm, cosy and nothing to fault from me. Hope to return early 26!

Absolutely excellent accommodation.

We loved staying there in our week. Close to town by car and near a beach walking. It’s a good base to visit other parts of Cornwall.it felt like home and had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely recommend this accommodation. Phil was lovely and helpful.

Top en-suite Room unable to sleep with the sound of constant heavy traffic with the room not very good in regards to soundproof may be upgraded double glazing the window's not easy to open or shut?. 2. The king size double bed is hard and uncomfortable and is very noisy . 3. Tv has very limited sky channels if any i wouldn't say it has sky! and also constantly issues with the signal picture fault lines going across. 4. Broadband unusable came on then stopped!. 5. En-Suite Shower is terrible like a watering can above your head,in other words no water pressure!. 6. The living room sofa is very uncomfortable and something to be desired. 7. Also not the best cleanness cobwebs everywhere and dust. 8. Small personal hairs on the bed sheets. *I believe the most essential missing items are a Washing machine & Double Glazing upgrade & and both bedrooms should have tv's and an upgrade with Sky channels*.

He is very helpful and accommodating. The property is a good base if you want to explore the Newquay area and the area itself is safe and quiet. Property is generally clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place.

We had everything we needed, the property was lovely, large, modern and clean and the property owner was great and made us feel welcome. We would highly recommend to our friends and family. The only thing that would have made our stay even more exceptional, would have been a larger shower head in the upstairs bathroom, but this is only minor. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Elin Howlyek is a lovely property, ideally located near Porth beach.

Newquay is also in walking distance. The property is very nicely decorated & we loved the huge bed in the master bedroom with a fantastic ensuite. The house has everything you need & the owner was very welcoming & left us a lovely cream tea & tea, coffee, & milk.

We (4 female walking friends) used Elin Howlek as a base from which to walk the South West Coast Path (from Perranporth to Harlyn).

It proved to be absolutely perfect for this. The apartment is well-equipped, with everything you might need for a short stay, and it is also very comfortable (beds, and other furnishings, including on the balcony). Phil was an excellent host. He gave us useful local information on arrival and couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and warm-hearted; providing us with a lovely cream tea and other treats, which made us feel welcome and contributed to a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend Elin Howlek, as a place to explore the Newquay area and the SWCPath, and we also recommend Phil as a great host.

Wonderful property, impossible to fault.

Brilliant facilities throughout in an excellent location. Friendly owner Phil, even left us a cream tea, which was an added bonus. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a great weeks stay at Elin Howlyek as a coiple.

Communication with Phil was great from start to finish. The main bedroom and bed (superking) on the second floor are extremely spacious and comfortable. There is everything you'd need in the apartment. The apartment is in a great location to walk or bus onto Newquay. Walking to main area is around 25-30 minutes. The bus stop is really close to the house and great to get to the other side of town such as fistral beach area. We got the bus in a couple of times and walked back. There is plenty of room for parking and it's easy to get to other places such as eden project (30 mins) , St Ives one direction and Falmouth another (45 mins).

This was an excellent property.

There was plenty of parking and it was easy to walk or get a bus into town. Both beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms clean and warm. The master bed was a super king size with plenty of space to stretch out. The appliances worked with no problems and the balcony was delightful on a warm day. There was plenty of kitchen equipment to cook in the property but also some fabulous restaurants nearby. I can especially recommend the Farmers Arms and Zamans. Phil was a great host, with a friendly welcome and generous goodies on arrival. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a fabulous time at Elin Howlyek (we had a storm the first night we were there and thought Howlyek was something to do with howling wind, but no it means ‘sunny corner’ in Cornish !

), it’s a great apartment and the top floor bedroom is fantastic. The balcony was lovely too. Really handy for the beach and a 15 minute walk into town. My only comment is that the road outside is very busy and our dog is rather nervous so we had to cross quickly and get down s side road to stop him jumping every time a car went by. Other than that, clean, stylish and well equipped and great location.

A really lovely property, clean, smart, well equipped.

Very friendly and helpful host. The only thing that could be improved - the double bed upstairs is very firm. My husband and son were ok with it, so I slept in the twin room, bed also firm but not quite as much so. Of course this is down to personal preference. That’s the only tweak. Everything else was perfect. Thank you

The apartment was nice and clean everything we needed to stay in comfort the only thing is the large bed was not for me very hard but would probably suit others could do with a gate to the back garden as my dogs had to be on leads all the time but wasn't a problem Phil is a fantastic chap and the cream tea my wife devoured it would definitely stay again if Phil would have us

Laundrette down the road if you are desperate to do your washing!

When I booked the holiday there was a photo of the decking and patio doors which I thought belong to the holiday let.

They actually belong to the flat underneath which was a bit misleading., that photo has now been removed. The listing also says, enclosed garden but it's not fully enclosed as there is no side gate. This is one of the reasons I chose this place as we good leave the doors open so the dogs could come in and out on there own. Obviously we couldn't do this in the end. The holiday let was great very clean and as We couldn't make use of the garden we used the balcony to chill out in. My only issue with the holiday let was the mattress on the superking size bed, way to firm for me and caused me pain in my back/shoulders. A topper might be an answer but I appreciate it's down to personal preference. Phil was very kind, helpful and welcoming. His little goody pack was a nice touch. As a suggestion I would suggest getting a side gate fitted and garden furniture. I know it says a duplex but it might be worth mentioning there's a flat underneath and it's a shared garden. Overall very satisfied with Phils holiday let. Would happily come back and stay again. Kind regards Craig and Kim.

The accommodation was very comfortable.

I’m a good position for visiting all the beaches. The owner was very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. There was a welcome pack of a cream tea and other essential which was lovely. We would have no hesitation recommending the house. Good off road parking which was a plus.

Everything you could need to make your stay comfortable. Everything was within walking distance and the town centre is around a 30 minute walk. Phil was great and welcomed us to Newquay and had some great suggestions of places to go. The main bedroom has a real wow factor and the bed was so comfortable. We'd definitely stay here again!

The property was lovely and the milk and tea coffee bottled water and cream tea that were left in the fridge for us by the owner was very nice and appreciated.

We had the most fantastic week in Newquay and having such a lovely place to stay and come back to in an evening hugely contributed to our holiday.

The accommodation is in a really great location. A coop across the road, a beach around the corner and not too much of a walk from the town centre. The house was warm, clean, well presented and well equipped. The owner of the house Phil, was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend staying here and I'm sure we'll be back ourselves.

The property was lovely and spacious.

We were left a welcome card and a cream tea on arrival. Very clean, and the balcony was a nice bonus. The beds were very comfortable, and the owner was always available, if we needed anything. The attic room shower was a bit temperamental. Don't run the taps at the same time. We were a little bit disappointed by how busy the road was. Also the neighbours were quite loud, which resulted in police being called out one evening. Very close to Newquay Town centre, and main beaches. Bit of a walk, so you really need your car. We were very lucky with the weather, and our dogs enjoyed the massive walking field at the back of the property. Overall it was a good holiday and we would recommend the property to friends.

Phil was the perfect host!

He made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed and provided local recommendations! The flat is in a perfect location for Newquay town centre and several beautiful beaches, and a tesco and coop in walking distance! Plenty of parking space for two cars, and a great little balcony to sit out with a glass of wine! We couldn’t fault anything at all, perfect accommodation! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a fantastic property with every thing you need , the owner may us feel so welcome and at home , he put a afternoon cream tea in the fridge , we really enjoyed this very comfortable accommodation , it was 5 star all the way thank you Phil

Lovely property well situated to explore Cornwall and many amenities around for food and a co-op at the petrol station near to.

Everywhere was spotlessly clean and all needs are catered for. We would definitely recommend this property and we would stay here again. The balcony is a lovely bonus to sit and chill too. Thank you for our warm welcome

We really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, clean and tidy property.

There was everything you could possible need and it it wasn't too far to the lovely beaches in Newquay. We especially enjoyed the cream tea that was left for us thank you Phil. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a break in Newquay and hopefully we will come back in the near future.

Brilliant property with a perfect location .

Everything was perfect and best apartment/ cottage we have lived so far. The property is at a walking distance of porth beach. It is close to many beautiful locations. The property itself is neat, tidy and relaxing for a young family of 2 kids and a 2 years old labrador. Overall, I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to explore Cornwall. Phil is an amazing host and will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable. 5 stars to him and Elin Howlyek

Wonderful property with more than adequate private parking.

Location is pretty central to Newquay Town, Porth Beach is a short stroll away, the Mermaid pub serves a lovely carvery on Sunday which we pre booked. Indoors, the house is bright and immaculate, the underfloor heating is so warm after a days walking the stunning coastline. There is a balcony which is furnished where we enjoyed the evening sun and a glass of wine - or 2! Owner, Phil, very personable and welcoming, great communication if needed anything. Hoping to return next year. Highly recommended.

The property was completely immaculate, it's laid out very nicely I'd say it's like a spacious one bed flat, with a nice size balcony, but then with another floor above, with an huge extra bedroom with another fully kitted out bathroom! All the facilities worked perfectly, with plenty of cooking and dining equipment. the heating was very powerful and effective! We were very cosy in the freezing temperatures outside! Phil, the owner was very friendly and helpful! He has good knowledge of the local area, and I would be confident that if any issues would have arisen at the time of my stay, he would have been proficient in resolving them. I would recommend the place to anyone, my dog had a great experience too! The location is great, right near a lovely beach with decent shops and a great Indian restaurant within close proximity. I could not criticise or faultour experience at Elin Howlyek in anyway. We're hoping to return in the new year too:)

In a great location for Newquay and for getting to routes for exploring Cornwall. The only comment we've got is the boiler cupboard and fridge need huge labels on them to say BOILER and FRIDGE as we got so confused LOL

Lovely apartment but would benefit from double glazing as could hear road noise and people outside shouting even though sleeping at the back in the loft room. No washing machine.

Phil was very friendly and helpful.

The accommodation was very clean and attractive. The cottage is on a main road and quite busy through the day but ok at night. It is a good stroll into Newquay but this was not a problem as we enjoyed stretching our legs. The cottage was a good base to explore Padstow, St Ives and National Trust properties, Trerice and Trelissick. Thank you for the milk and cream tea when we arrived.

We had a lovely weeks holiday. Close to the beach, a shop and petrol station nearby it was so convenient. Would definitely recommend Elin Howlyek for a great holiday.

We had a lovely Easter break!

The house is stuffed with all the little extras you forget to pack, like washing up liquid, soap, tin foil, oven gloves, the list goes on. Our favourite was the provision of lovely, fluffy blankets the whole family could cuddle under, watching the huge TV, after a long tiring day of activities. We enjoyed finding the pandas and the penguin too. We will definitely be coming back.

From the moment we arrived at Elin Howlyek (end of March) to the day we left, the one thing we can say is "Perfect".

Phil is a great host and a lot of thought has gone into making sure everyone has a fabulous time. The cream tea, coffee, tea, milk and water was a lovely thought too. Spotlessly clean and well maintained with everything you need. Plenty of electrical sockets in all rooms (even a couple of USB charging points in one of the kitchen sockets). We were lucky to have fabulous weather early in the week so being able to sit on the balcony in the evening with a glass of wine watching the sun set was just magical. Thanks for everything Phil.

Ample parking, it is on a busy road but we knew that when we booked, but this had no impact on our stay.

The appartment was very clean and in very good condition.

It looked nice online but past our expectations. The location is great for travelling to beaches and very handy for Indian restaurant 200 yards away. We would stay again.

The accomodation was surprisingly roomy and everything you needed was there.

The apartment is clean and modern with everything you could need for a self catering holiday.

We found it a comfortable size with two adults and two children but the lounge area may be a squeeze for four adults. It was lovely having the balcony to sit out on and we were not overlooked. WiFi was excellent and there is a bluetooth speaker and Sky which kept everyone happy. The only negative thing (if it bothers you) is the road noise. For the most part we didn't notice it it was just at times like bedtime or the rare quiet moment we had with two children! The apartment is a great base for visiting other areas of Cornwall and the local beach took us about 15 minutes to walk with little legs and it didn't bother them. It is a fantastic beach but check the tide times as low tide is very far away from the main sandy part. The sea in the bay is very calm and safe for the children.

The only other thing was the road noise which was quite bad.

We had a lovely week at Elin Howlyek it was in a great position as a base, and it felt like home from home, it was clean and tidy, and the cream tea and bottled water were a nice welcome, phil the owner was availble at the end of a phone, the only thing we found was it was a bit noisy with the wind whistling through the small gaps in the windows, but it was very windy and mother nature cant be controlled we would definitely recomend this place.
