Hindon Hall

We had a super stay at Hindon hall.

The accommodation is beautiful and really comfortable. The house is very well equipped and the location was perfect being just near lelant train station. We were two families staying together and we both thought the house layout worked so well. Thank you for a lovely memorable holiday. We will be back.

This was our second visit to the property and we were just as pleased with it as the first time.

The house is very spacious with quality fixtures, fittings and furniture. 10/10 to the person who cleans as the house was spotless. We visited in October so the weather could have been better and there’s not much to entertain in the house on a blustery day so we bought a few bits (jigsaw, board game) and left them for the next visitors. Just one criticism and that’s that last year the cupboard was full of cooking basics ( salt, pepper, oil etc) but there was nothing this time although there were plenty of coffee pods and tea bags. We hope to return with the rest of the family at some point in the future

We loved the house and the viewfrom the property.

The biscuits, scones, clotted cream and salmon was a very nice touch. However, we did not find the instructions for disposing of the recycling and rubbish unclear. We found it a little dangerous coming out of the automatic gates even though there was a mirror, it didn't pick up any children using a scooter on the pavement. Also, one of the double beds duvets seemed a tad too small. The reason for the 3 on cleanliness is that in the middle of the tea plates I found one covered in greasy butter. Also, the dust was thick on the pipe under the sink in our bedroom and a few cobwebs and dead insects behind a chair in the lounge.

The property is very spacious and nice outdoor area for sitting out. Was a great location for exploring Cornwall. Having a sauna was excellent too. Spoke to the house contact during the week with a few questions and they were very helpful. We ate at the Badger inn for Sunday carvery and the Old forge during the week, both were lovely. We also had breakfast at Birdies bistro, would recommend! Only suggestion would be adding a butter dish for the kitchen but everything was great for us! Thanks for a great stay

A superb large house attractively decorated and furnished.

Large windows to catch the sun and very pleasant terrace and gardens. The only criticism would be around the lack of information (eg waste disposal/collection or TV/internet/sauna guidance). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hindon Hall.

Spacious and comfortable, a few hints that it had been an institution (a school?

). The small sitting room was cosy with the gas fire lit, and the conservatory was a welcoming space. It was tempting to light the Aga but the hob and electric oven were enough. There is not enough space to get off the busy road while waiting for the electric gates to open - we tended to go in via the double gates at the side and out through the electric gates. It was unfortunate that the previous occupants had taken the house manual, and despite the caretakers' efforts the replacement didn't arrive during our week so it was tricky working out the heating. The utility sink was blocked and it took a few days before it was checked and went on the maintenance list for after we had left. The view from the bedrooms is good, also sitting out on the covered terrace at the back of the house, although the leylandii hedge is a bit tall and rather dominates the garden. Lelant is a good base for exploring the south west tip of the country, by train or car, and good walks locally including along the beach and the start of St Michael's Way which we hadn't known about before.

Alfred who was our point of contact was brilliant, answering our queries and providing drinking glasses which were missing from the property. ( not enough for eight people) he also arranged for an electrician to attend as the wall lights in the lounge did not work properly. He is certainly an asset to the company. Thank you so much for a holiday we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Hindon Hall is a wonderful place to stay.

The owners have spent much time in making sure all guest comforts are catered for with great care and attention to detail. From all the bedrooms having en-suites to the wonderful aga in the kitchen a real homely feel. Great place for families to get together or for couples a place to escape to. Not far from St Ives/Carbis Bay but far enough away from hustle and bustle of the town. Simply stunning.

Our stay at Hindon Hall was brilliant.

Every need we wanted was catered for. Comfort wish it was first rate. The only tiny worry was the disposable of the recycling items ie food,paper etc. We couldn’t find the appropriate coloured bins listed on the new(ish) pamphlet. Other than that small thing every thing was great. Also a small selection of board games etc, would have been nice. All in all a lovely stay.

OK I am generous with praise for the property but truth is the Sauna did not work which was something we really were looking forward to using.

Also a few other things were not working, like the food macerator in the kitchen sink, and the sink plug in the bedroom en-suite top of the stairs. And there was definitely something wrong with the waste instructions. The was only black bin bags though we were told to use also a green bag. And when we put out the refuse for collection it was not actually collected! Everywhere else we noticed were using different coloured backs for different types of waste. Something not quite right there. But in spite of all that we loved the house and the location.
