Not only was it not ready for our arrival with dirty unmade beds, but the whole place was unclean. Not only the dirt and mess from the previous occupants but long term dirt. The whole place needs a deep clean. From food and thick dust under the bed, an absolutely disgusting toilet brush to dirty rug, floor and skirting boards. Not only was it not ready for our arrival with dirty unmade beds, but the whole place was unclean. Not only the dirt and mess from the previous occupants but long term dirt. The whole place needs a deep clean. From food and thick dust under the bed, an absolutely disgusting toilet brush to dirty rug, floor and skirting boards. The toilet seat is almost falling off, the sink tap housing is broken and there appears to be no care and attention to the customer experience. This experience ruined our holiday. The owners turned up 4 hours later to change the beds without an apology or offer to clean. Far below the experience expected of Sykes Cottages.
Thank you for your feedback and we're truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations. There was a misunderstanding regarding the booking and communication with our housekeeper, which we addressed as quickly as possible.
The toilet seat was replaced prior to this message, and the tap has also been repaired—both issues we were unaware of until recently. As for the cleanliness of the property, we were not informed at the time. Had we received a message from you, we would have acted immediately to resolve it.
