Cawsand

Even before we were due to arrive i received a message from Lisa introducing herself and sending me information of places to eat and visit and offering to make any bookings to eat out for us.

Upon arrival we were warmly met by Lisa, Felix and Sassy the dog and the dogs introduced themselves and had a little play. The cottage was lovely and cosy, with lots of thought gone into providing everything needed for our stay. The welcome hampers for us and the dogs were lovely, thoughtful additions with little luxury gifts, even a little toy for the dogs. The view from the garden was lovely and relaxing and i can imagine it would be lovely sitting out there on a sunny day with no need to go out anywhere (unfortunately weather was not quite warm enough for that in March!) We drove a couple of hours to The Lizard, Mullion and Marazion, making this cottage very accessible to all of cornwall, but also visited Polperro, Looe, Tavistock pannier market and Bodmin Jail. Seaton Beach was lovely for us and the dogs who enjoyed their swim, followed by a clean up shower curtesy of the use of the dog friendly emporium at the cottages, (the name escapes me). Would definitely recommend Whitsand and Cawsand (we booked both cottages for the same week) to anybody who wants an extremely dog friendly, relaxing home for a holiday. Thanks once again to Lisa and Felix who made us more than welcome and we hope to see again in the future!

Your welcome pack was outstanding and the best I’ve ever received from a Sykes property. Loved counting the pheasants everyday the dogs were absolutely mesmerised by them. Already booked again for next year.

Wonderful hosts.

Accommodation was A☆! Everything as described. Everything there we needed. Everything was clean. Peaceful setting. Loved watching the wildlife & cows in the field. Was rather hoping for freezing weather so we could light the log burner.... but we were so cozy & comfy, we never needed it. Excellent getaway for a couple with a doggy companion

Fantastic week here in October.

Lovely welcome pack for the dog and us humans too. Great location for getting around but so peaceful too. Amazing view with cows and pheasants keeping us entertained all day. Home from home - a great find.

Fantastic accommodation.

The owners Felix & Lisa were very obliging, there was a welcome basket of goodies for us and even one for the dog. Can’t recommend this property highly enough, we will be back in the spring

Cawsand was a beautifully presented property.

Lovely bathroom and shower and the bed was extremely comfy. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

This was our 3rd visit so I think that speaks for itself, cottage is always lovely the location is great, lovely welcome pack hosts are very welcoming and very dog friendly

We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. Highly recommend if you are looking for a 5* cottage in beautiful Cornish countryside. Short drive to beaches and Looe. Local supermarkets close by too. Brilliant!!!!

We enjoyed our week at Cawsand.

Second time for us to stay at Cawsand, having visited for a week in July 2023.

The cleanliness and quality of the cottage has been maintained and it is a real home from home. Lisa and Felix are great hosts and are very helpful if you need advice about anything. Their information pack in the cottage is an excellent source to guide you to many local eateries and places to visit. Their cottages are a retreat to unwind, to enjoy nature and the peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the seaside resorts, yet only a few miles away when you want to visit the villages, beaches and coves etc. Our dog enjoyed laying out on the balcony and watching the cows, geese, foxes and other wildlife, and had a secure garden to run around too. A perfect set up for dog owners, including the welcoming dog hamper with lots of goodies for your fur baby. Sassy the resident dog is lucky enough to live there with Lisa and Felix in a fabulous setting. Thanks once again to Lisa and Felix for another wonderful holiday; and giving us the opportunity to experience just a little of your beautiful setting. We look forward to visiting our little retreat in the future.

All in all, a lovely stay with very nice owners.

I gave it 4 stars, however, mostly because of the very spotty WiFi which made it impossible to stream any movies or reliably get online. It was worse in the evenings or on rainy days when all the cottages were occupied. At those times, the internet was down completely. Truly frustrating. The cottage itself was nicely appointed and the fenced in private garden was great for our dog. I would, however, suggest to the owners that it would be helpful to have more than 4 knives, forks, and plates. My only other comment for future renters (and this is not directed at the cottage owners) is to be aware that the last 2 miles or so are down very narrow country lanes and there were large oncoming tractors barreling down the road seemingly every time I was headed out from or back to the cottage. I was constantly having to back up for quite a distance to find a spot wide enough for them to pass. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it was a deterrent (at least to me) to wanting to come and go often. But on the whole, a very nice stay!

Perfect cottage, everything you need is there, plus some extra treats, for all of us.

Was like speaking with friends as Lisa and Felix were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The yummy welcome baskets were such a lovely touch and much enjoyed by both humans and dogs! What I would say for future bookers is that the garden was too small for 2 labradors and a 1 year old - just a heads up

Beautiful cottage, every comfort and convenience, lovely views and not only were we made to feel comfortable and welcome our two cats were too, Lisa and Felix go above and beyond to make your holiday stay special, I cannot praise them enough looking forward to going back next year.

Oh what an absolutely fabulous holiday we have had.

The glorious weather was a bonus but the real jewel in the crown was our stay at Cawsand. Tastefully decorated and exuding a wonderful sense of calm and peace we instantly relaxed in the cottage. Cawsand is well equipped and a welcome hamper for both us and our Puppy 'Bunny' was very much appreciated. There is a small, safely enclosed garden and a balcony which overlooks the fabulous countryside. Lisa and Felix are very friendly hosts who go the extra mile to ensure that you have a wonderful holiday. Highly recommended.

Cawsand is a little hidden gem.

Beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean. Wonderful views from terrace over the fields. Perfect spot to enjoy the delicious welcome hamper provided by Lisa & Felix. Great for 4 legged friends, lovely secure garden.

Cawsand is the perfect cottage for two.

It is beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you need. The balcony is a bonus with lovely countryside views in the day and ideal for stargazing with a glass of wine in the evening. Lisa and Felix are wonderful hosts and made us feel completely welcomed and relaxed. We have just had our second stay and hope to be back again in the new year. If you are thinking of booking this cottage, don’t hesitate you will love it.

We had a great stay in Cawsand Cottage.

The owners have a great eye for detail and have thought of everything that people and their dogs might need to have a fantastic holiday. A cosy, comfortable and clean cottage in a convenient location, with very generous welcome packs (for humans and doggies). A warm welcome for us from the owners PLUS a holiday romance for our boy dogs, who fell in love with their gorgeous little lady dog, made it extra special! Just wonderful.

Fantastic cottage, very clean and we'll equipped couldn't ask for anything more. Lisa and Felix fantastic hosts, nothing too much trouble for them and was always on hand it you ever needed them. Would not hesitate to go back, would go back tomorrow if we could. Joe and Pauline

A wonderful second stay at these lovely cottages, clean and comfortable with some lovely touches.

. dog and human welcome packs which were gratefully received. Wonderful views from the gardens and very dog friendly with lovely hosts. Recommend trips to Looe, Polperro and Mevagissy also Seaton and Downderry beach which are dog friendly all year. Sad to be home now but will return next year!

To be honest we weren’t expecting much from a one bedroom cottage in a row.

We usually hire a larger detached house but these are now way out of our budget with the price hikes. The photos really don’t do it justice, the cottage was beautiful and immaculately presented, but still practical for us and our two Boxers. Plenty of space for everyone. We barely noticed our neighbours. The patio area had lovely views, a super place to unwind after a long hike and I enjoyed watching the comings and going’s of various wildlife and the cows in the next door paddock. On arrival we were greeted by a super hamper for us with a gorgeous cream tea with the best homemade jam and also one for the dogs! Lisa and Felix made us so welcome and gave us brilliant advice in finding a beautiful secluded beach and walking in Cornwall. We were very sad to leave.

We were really impressed with the cottage, it was gorgeous and looked better in real life than in the photos.

We received a warm welcome on arrival and Lisa made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Everything was clean and well presented with extra touches including a welcome basket for our dog and plenty of tea, coffee and sweet treats for us. It was perfect for our holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Cawsand cottage.

The cottage was very clean and we felt that the owners had done everything possible to ensure that we were Covid safe. The cottage was nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the cottage was decorated In a pretty country coastal style. A welcome pack of tea, coffee and biscuits plus fresh flowers were all much appreciated. We were welcomed by the owners and spoke to them during our stay and they were very helpful and friendly The cottage is part of a building of three holiday properties and is situated in the countryside in a quiet position but is a short drive from the main road. Overall we would definitely recommend this cottage if you wish to stay in a quiet but accessible property. We hope to stay again there in the future.

Lots of helpful information for those new to the area. There to meet us. Great view from the balcony. Well decorated cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Needed a washing machine in the cottage even though there was a shared one which could have been made available. Covid made that tricky.

Lovely cottage with views over fields, cows and chickens.

Loved the interior too and had everything we needed. The Rod and Line pub up the road served the best fish, chips and mushy peas we've had in years. Nice staff and friendly locals. Perfect location to visit eden project, looe, fowey tamar valley walks and my favourite the cottage namesakes....beautiful Cawsand and Kingsand were so picturesque village/bays. Would not hesitate to book again. Thank you.

Beautiful cottage, wonderful hosts, superb location

Rame is a beautifully presented, exceptionally clean, modern, well thought out, comfortable holiday let, with views across open countryside.

Extra little touches were most welcome, which included: Cornish tea bags, milk, cream tea components, a bottle of Cornish Gold cider, a little box of Lindor chocolates, toiletries, coffee maker with capsules, Netflix and an Echo Dot .There were also treats for the dogs and the enclosed garden is excellent for holiday makers with dogs. It is worth knowing there are steps from the balcony to the garden which the owners have thoughtfully made non slip. The owners, Lisa and Felix are very welcoming and available if there should be a need. There is also lots of information about the local area within the cottage. I would highly recommend all of their cottages (we had a sneaky look at all of them, with Lisa, before we left!) It certainly exceeds on all counts holiday lets we've stayed in previously.

Rame is a perfect haven to relax and recharge the batteries.

Lisa and Felix are ideal hosts, always smiling, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The cottage has everything one would need for a short or long break. We had a wonderful time despite the weather.

A lovely place to stay, the cottage is just as advertised and the location is a great base to explore Cornwall.

The view from Rame is to die for and sitting out on the patio is so relaxing. We loved our stay at Rame along with our 2 dogs Billy and Ruby, we wouldn't hesitate about booking Rame again or one of the other cottages. The owners are smashing people and are very helpful, they have thought of everything.

We were all, including our dog, made to feel very welcome by Felix and Lisa.

The little extras for all of us were a nice touch. The cottage is very comfortable and the outside space is great with a lovely view. Would like to return one day.

The cottage was really lovely and reflected the advertising.

The cottage had a hotel feel to it and it felt very welcoming. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We came with our dog and there was basket with treats and blankets and the garden was fenced in which was really helpful. There are many great beaches around for walking as well as the coast path. We can certainly recommend the cottage.

This is the best holiday cottage I have ever stopped in.

It was spotless, cream tea, cider and dog goody box for the dog on arrival and we had our own balcony and enclosed garden. The owners were excellent and very helpful. Would use this cottage again. Ten out of Ten.
