“Although we had a brilliant week, it would have been easier of a night time to have a landing light switch near to bedroom that backs the bathroom.”

Would have been great to have had trumble dryer working.

The property

Bude 4.8 miles.

Atlantic View is located in the sleepy hamlet of Poundstock, near to the bustling town of Bude.

This spacious abode offers a lovely base for families to call home while exploring the North Cornwall coast, discovering many hidden coves and sandy beaches along the way.

After parking up in the gravel driveway, take a moment to appreciate the rural surroundings instantly putting you at ease, before heading inside.

Discover the sitting room after a day of exploring, where you can lounge on the leather sofa before the electric fire, searching for something good to watch or simply discussing the holiday so far.

Carry the conversation into the kitchen/diner where the chef of the group can relish in a range of modern appliances, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, while just off the kitchen lies a utility with a washing machine so you aren’t short of amenities.

Continue the evening outside to the patio furniture, ideal for some alfresco dining as the little ones play on the lawned area and your canine companion stretches their legs.

Choose from four delightful bedrooms; on the ground-floor rests a double with French doors to the patio, ideal for those with limited mobility, while two further doubles and a twin can be found upstairs, each touched up with crisp white bed linen and plush duvets.

Serving these bedrooms is a bathroom with bath and shower over, perfect for a lazy soak for a quick rinse, while there is also a shower room on the ground floor.

The final piece of the interior is the cosy snug room, positioned on the first floor where you can getaway from the group and enjoy a quiet read, or open the patio doors to access the furnished balcony, offering a sunny spot for a gin and tonic.

When you’re ready to explore, head over to Widemouth Bay, a huge sweep of surf and sand offering your nearest beaches, including Summerleaze and Crooklets, which have fantastic surfing conditions to test, as well as fascinating rock pools for exploration.

Those avid golfers can test their swing at a number of secluded golf courses while anglers can try their hand at a spot of fishing.

Learn about local history at Castle Bude, a Grade II listed building built in 1830 and stunning river views, or head further afield to Port Isaac, where you can visit King Arthur’s castle at Tintagel or ride the waves at Polzeath.

Atlantic View is a great touring cottage for you and your loved ones, whatever time of year.

About the location

BUDE

Tintagel 17 miles.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
