Cobble Cottage

This characterful little stone cottage was an excellent base to explore this lovely part of Cornwall.

The unexpected and warm welcome of a lovely bottle of wine and packet of local shortbread biscuits, and the thoughtfully provided condiments and tea and coffee making provisions, made us feel very much at home. The kitchen was well appointed with every cooking utensil needed to prepare meals. The location in the village was quiet and private and yet within easy walk of the public car park, pubs, restaurants, and the local food supermarket. I highly recommend this delightful little cottage.

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Clean and tidy Enjoyed using the fire in the evening local pubs are great we especially enjoyed meals at the Nap and the Web. Definitely visit the pottery shop and the farm shop is bigger now and includes a butcher. We took a bus from Boscastle to Tintagel and walked back along the coastal path a little challenging but very nice. We personally found the beds uncomfortable and the cottage quite cold even with the heat on, maybe a door curtain would really help as you loose a lot of heat there. Some of the appliances could definitely do with upgrading kettle was rusty, plates and bowls were chipped and the washer dryer doesn’t dry properly.

This was our second stay at Cobble Cottage and once again the house was perfect.

Spotlessly clean with everything you could need and more. We enjoyed lots of cosy log fires! The location is excellent with easy, cheap parking and lots of places to eat within easy walking distance. We recommend food at The Rocket Store and the Wellington close by. When we needed help it was very easy to contact Ila and she was lovely and really helpful. We would definitely stay again.

What a darling place!

We had some trouble finding it because our Google maps wasn’t working very well but once we got in, it was exactly as promised. Our only issue was with the washer/dryer. The written instructions in the folder weren’t very helpful but we found a YouTube video that helped. You might want to post a link by the machine to help your guests. We still had trouble with drying our clothes but the drying rack was really handy and the radiators! We weren’t there long enough to warrant a call, but you might want to check and see if it is working properly. Aside from that issue, we were thrilled with your very thoughtful welcome gifts and we enjoyed them very much. Your cottage is terrific and we really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend! This place is class!

Great position down a stunning cobbled street slightly set back from the main road through Boscastle. Has everything you need for your stay and more. Kitchen great, bathroom great, beds very comfy and you must try the garden! The welcome pack is a great touch. Will definitely be back again. Couldn’t find a single fault. Easy enough to reverse a car up the street to unload right outside.

Perfect place to stay in Boscastle.

The house had everything we needed for our week long stay, was spotlessly clean and in an excellent location. The parking was easy to find and cost us only £15 for the week. It was a 1 minute walk from the house. Nearby pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops are minutes away. We highly recommend The Rocket Store and Boscastle Farm Shop, both are excellent. We had to leave Cornwall while we could still fit into our clothes! The contact we were given responsed very quickly and was so kind and helpful. The downstairs of the house is open plan and so lovely to sit and relax in front of the open fire. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We also enjoyed the garden at the top of the property. What a view! We would definitely book and stay here again.

Great place in a lovely village with loads to do!

Would buy this house if it were ever available. The local pub is brilliant, the Cobweb Inn.

A great cottage in a luvly location unfortunately the local offering is a little slim for us the cobweb inn was almost depressing.

The fish shack was luvly high end with a great vibe to it

The only small issue, as we are knocking on a bit the sofa and armchair are very low, making it difficult to get up and sit down.

Fabulous little cottage, local wine and biscuits on arrival, very clean and generously equipped kitchen, open fire with wood provided.

Lots of useful local informal provided also. Great location and a massive bonus for us was the garden terrace as the weather was gorgeous so enjoyed morning coffee and evening drink there. So many great places to eat within walking distance, from quaint cafes to a Michelin star restaurant, the cobweb pub was the winner for us! Bus stop also close by to Tintagel and beyond and wonderful cliff top walks. We’ll Be back !!

We love the cottage it’s was well maintained and in a perfect position.

Only draw back was car parked across entrance to the row of houses. Which appeared to be there for a couple of days making it difficult when we and other people leaving had to reverse back down the road!

Cobble Cottage is a lovely place and perfect for myself and two daughters.

The location couldn't be better. The house is well equipped with everything you could need. Just needs a few things fixing. The peely paint in the kitchen isn't great when you find it in your cereal bowl and on the plates ( stored on the shelf by the peely paint). The door to the little bedroom kept getting stuck and needed a good shove to open it. We left it open in the end in case one of us got trapped in there. Also, the mattress in that room is really hard. My girls took it in turn to sleep on it so someone didn't have the uncomfortable bed all week. Saying, that it is a great cottage and we would stay there again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Cobble Cottage, its position was wonderful, we felt very at home in the house and we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the house, the beds were extremely comfortable.

Boscastle is a very special place and our 3 year old granddaughter loved it her favourite thing who’s to go down to the harbour every night. Thank you

Elements are tired.

Especially lounge furniture. Needs hand rails on stairs in house and back garden steps up to terrace. However we still love this house and can’t wait to visit again!

beautiful cottage might even say one of the best ones in the village, right in the middle of the village you have shops,pubs all around and even breakfast in the little cafe less than 30seconds walk and the best cakes wow, very cheap too, the food places are expensive but worth it and if you drive to widemouth Manor try the carvery you won't regret it and if you book around 7ish you will see the sun set beautiful

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cobble Cottage.

It was very homely and an excellent location. It was a lovely touch leaving the gifts of Cornish wine and shortbread - we really enjoyed them both - thank you. We would stay again.

A fantastic cottage in a wonderful location.

The personalised welcome pack was a lovely surprise, as was the views from the roof top terrace. My children have been constantly asking to go back since our stay!

Cobble Cottage was exactly what I had in mind when I was tasked with organising a long weekend in Cornwall for my parents, partner and myself.

The cottage itself had all the charm and character you’d want, plus a nice kitchen, living space and two reasonable doubles and a single. The added bonus of being in the heart of the village - with pubs and restaurants and access to the coastal walks - was just perfect. We did not have to leave the village of an evening, so we could relax and all have a drink. Thanks for hosting us!

Very cosy and comfortable. I would love to come back! Great position in Boscastle and very convenient for fabulous walks. It was very easy to get a weekly car parking ticket.

The cottage is very homely with everything we needed to hand. All the personal touches, fresh flowers, milk in the fridge, local wine, biscuits, made us feel so welcome. It was so cosy with the fire lit in the evenings. We love Boscastle & had a fabulous stay, have already re-booked for next year.

Excellent week in Cobble Cottage, second holiday this year there.

A really comfortable cottage, cosy and clean. A great location in sleepy Boscastle with good food in nearby Cob and Riverside, plus the bakers across the way for pastries and bread in the morning, and without fail a visit to Jamaica Inn further on the Moor. Lovely welcome gifts which were much appreciated after the journey down, thank you! We visited loads of places while there including Tintagel (King Arthur's Halls and Old Post Office), Bude, Crackington Haven, Wheal Martyn, Bodmin Gail, St Nectans Glen, Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, Vale of Avalon, Jamaica Inn, among others. A lovely cottage which is very well equipped, clean and comfortable.

We particularly liked sitting on the terrace (between showers!) looking out at the activity in the village down below. Although the cottage is quietly situated it is very convenient to nip out to the shops or a walk down to the harbour. Parking in the public car park was no trouble either. Unfortunately the weather turned very cold for the end of June and we were glad of the logs for the fire. The only slight negative to our stay was trying to work out how to turn on the heating. We had to give up in the end! Would recommend more detailed instructions to use the night storage heating. Would stay here again.

This was an absolute gem in the hot weather - so cool.

Nice and central! Surely the loveliest cottage in Boscastle. Very well equipped. A washing line across the top of the garden would be really very useful - maybe one you can pull out from one of the fence posts. I’d also suggest bolting the bedside tables to the wall in the front bedroom as they can easily tip over due to uneven floor as you expect in an old cottage.

Love the house having stayed many times.

Starting to feel a bit tired and in need of tlc. Shower scalding or cold with no real in between. However love Cobble Cottage and can’t wait return.

Fully equipped cottage with all the amenities set in a wonderful pictures location.

The cottage felt homely from the moment we arrived till the moment we left. The small welcome basket was a nice touch along with the welcome note from Isla. Would highly recommend a stay here if you are looking for peace and tranquillity that is great base to explore the north coast or Cornwall.

7th time at Cobble and we still love it.

A lovely open fire with a glass of wine or three at the end of the day is bliss. We`ll be back again soon.

I cannot count the number of times we have returned to Cobble Cottage.

The most beautiful place on earth

We had an amazing and relaxing time and the cottage was perfect…can’t beat sitting in front of the fire on a cold January evening.

Naturally given it was January not much was open in the village but that added to the charm as it was so quiet it slowed life right down, no easy thing with 3 boys aged 6 and under with us!

What an amazing place to stay , we will definitely come back .

It is clean , cosy and super well equipped for cooking . This place has been done with care and attention . The pictures do not so justice as the kitchen has been redone and looks even better now! Thank you so much for a fabulous holiday .

Beautiful from the moment we walked in.

Flowers on the kitchen counter, plenty of wood and kindling for first couple of nights. Bed very comfy. Just a really gorgeous cottage that we love staying at. So many happy memories, we can’t wait to come back!

Have stayed there before, they have made changes to the kitchen for the better, but would prefer the large fridge to be located against the back wall rather than in the against the main wall.

Would also benefit from some small steps as much of the top shelf is difficult to reach if not that tall. Will book again as love the place.

Loved it.

Before our review of the property: The access to the property, as stated by Sykes, is a parking spot for another cottage; this spot is usually populated.

If you have a small car, you "may" just get past to reach the cottage as guided by Sykes. If you can`t, you will have to drive down the road towards the National Trust shop then turn right (and it`s a bit of a nightmare reversing back down). This is our 3rd time at Cobble Cottage, and we have loved it. There have been a few changes since our last visit before the pandemic started; I think these are detrimental to the character of the cottage, but my partner thinks they are for the better. One change we both agree on is the garishly red fridge / freezer; it looks completely out of place. Cobble is a lovely cottage and we both thoroughly recommend it as a base to visit Boscastle and further. There is a lovely, and large, open fire for which we take a mixture of coal and wood; giving a lovely focal point while we relax with a nice glass of wine in the evenings.

Great cottage and fifth time of staying.

Will definitely come back. Lots of wear and tear issues such as stains on lounge ceiling where plumbing leaks from the bathroom have been an issue. Many lightbulbs not working and so forth but really appreciated the extras such as wine etc. We had a great week’s break.

A charming old cottage right in the centre, lots of history and beautiful scenery.

The property has been cleverly renovated and is well equipped. The carpets and rugs need more thorough cleaning and the settee and armchair is rather soiled and saggy. No doubt the owners will replace this for next year. We had a lovely week, enjoyed exploring the village shops and the many coast path walks. The car park was very close, convenient and reasonably priced. The location was great for visiting several other beautiful places.

As always a lovely stay in the most idyllic location.

This is a great little cottage in a brilliant location.

The cottage is very clean and has everything you need for a great holiday. The welcome pack of wine , biscuits and fresh milk was a really nice touch. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to explore the North West Cornwall coast . We had a fantastic family holiday with our two boys nine and 13 .

Great cottage in a great location in Boscastle and was the perfect size for my wife and I.

The cottage also benefits from a lovely outside space where we spent most late afternoons sitting in the sun.

Good communication throughout and House-keeper and Owner were brilliant to deal with too when we had a problem. Thoroughly recommend the cottage and location, it is actually better than the pictures show and outdoor seating area was a bonus and a favourite spot of ours!

Cobble cottage is bang in the centre of Boscastle harbour and is just delightful.

The new kitchen is great and this small cottage has got everything you need to explore all of the wonderful local sights that are right on your doorstep.

We had a lovely stay at Cobble Cottage during a wet and windy half term week.

It's perfectly located to explore the stunning coastline, and the cottage itself was warm, comfortable and situated right in the center of the beautiful Boscastle, a stones throw from some lovely eating places. We would definitely return.

Cobble Cottage is a delightful cottage situated in the equally delightful and beautiful Boscastle.

We`ve just had a very enjoyable week in Cobble Cottage and Boscastle, and we will return in the very near future.

This is our third time visiting Cobble Cottage.

It is perfect for our family holiday in Boscastle. The cottage is cosy and welcoming and clean with everything that you need catered for. The location is right in the heart of Boscastle and ideal for exploring the village, coastal walks and North Cornwall. We have only got back yesterday and just booked in for our holiday in Cobble Cottage again next year.

We have been coming to cobble cottage for years.

It’s such a great place and we are so lucky to have so many happy memories there.

Cobble cottage is situated in the heart of Boscastle down a narrow cobbled street close to The Cobweb and Wellington pubs.

The cottage is bright and spacious with everything you would expect. The garden is a bonus and a real sun trap. The Boscastle farm shop is a couple of miles away (A lovely walk along cliff path) which serves great good and where you can pick up supplies

We had a great week at Cobble Cottage and it was clean and comfortable.

We had an issue with the washing machine which was sorted very quickly by the housekeeper. The TVs instructions were poor but sorted by a local expert most helpfully, again organised by the very pleasant housekeeper. It was lovely to have a bottle of local wine and milk when we arrived. The paperwork giving us information about visits etc was very useful.

The high chair I ordered was not provided and the housekeeper was unable to supply one so we had to buy one.

I think we should have been made aware that the cottage wasn't really suitable for families with young children. Having to pay an extra £100 for parking was a bit of a shock. The house could have been cleaner and supplies (ie. spare tea towels, dishcloths, toilet paper etc.) easier to find. Sykes are very unpersonal and obviously don't communicate with the housekeeper. The promised fresh linen for the second week was not provided. The location is wonderful and the cottage charming but I don't think we got value for money.

The cottage and location were brilliant!

Few issues, carpets upstairs need updating very stained and dirty looking. Shower not powerful at all. It was clean but could have been cleaner. Towels were very hard and scratchy. Washing machine broke, oven didn’t work properly and toaster. Didn’t ruin our time there have fallen in love with Boscastle.

I HAVE STAYED IN MANY COATTEAGES IN BOSCASTLE OVER THE YEARS .

I WILL CERTAINLY STAY IN THIS ONE AGAIN . IF THERE WAS A LITTLE MORE STORAGE SPACE IN THE BEDROOMS THIS WOULD BE PERFECT .
