Lowen cottage is a beautiful cottage in a lovely setting.

It is not big but more than ample for two people and a dog. I loved the spiral staircase leading down to the garden and the view from the balcony. The kitchen had everything needed to cook a decent meal with everything working as expected. We really appreciated the gifts left to enjoy while staying at the cottage and I was impressed by all the things that were available in the cottage like kitchen roll, soap, clingfilm, bluetooth speaker, books and a choice of DVDs. Lovely.

The property is in a great location - just a ten minute walk from Boscastle harbour.

The cottage had everything we needed. It was cozy and comfortable, and a lovely space to come back to after walking in the typical British weather. We were very grateful for the welcome gifts on arrival after our long drive!

Lovely view from the kitchen and veranda. Kitchen very well equipped. Only gave 4 stars rather than 5 as 2nd bedroom would probably benefit from a smaller bed. Would definitely book again.

Lowen is a sweet little cottage but very overpriced compared to others we've stayed in.

The place was clean, had a great shower, and a decent supply of logs was left for us, but there were too many oversights from whoever is managing the property to justify over £1700 a week. The place, smaller than the pictures suggest, was freezing cold when we arrived, having presumably been empty the previous week/s. It would have been nice if whoever left the (welcoming?) lamp on had put some heating on too. We needed to blast the motley array of electric radiators for 24 hours to thaw the place out. Kitchen issues: broken corkscrew; largest saucepan missing a lid; no instructions for the oven; knives need sharpening and the dishwasher needs attention as the seals are loose and trays don't slide very easily. The dining table, alongside the back of the sofa, isn't particularly comfortable with a thin bench and two chairs that don't fit underneath. Lighting in the lounge is also an issue, we had to keep moving the one lamp to get any light for reading. The wood burner is very inefficient - ours at home, for example, uses half the fuel for twice the heat. We got through an awful lot of wood keeping warm! Also, there was no bucket for the ashes. Other things that would make guests' stay more comfortable would be to leave a decent supply of toilet paper, rather than the end of one roll and just one spare. Ditto leaving just the end of a kitchen roll, milk that was out of date the day after we arrived, and an all but empty bottle of handwash in the bathroom. It all seemed very tight. If we hadn't paid so much, our expectations would have been lower, but much work needs to be done to justify £250 a night. Needless to say, we certainly won't be returning to Lowen Cottage - there are far better more reasonably priced alternatives.

Lovely quaint cottage close to the beautiful Boscastle Harbour.

Be aware on arrival the access road is very narrow there is on street parking but very limited however the public car park near the harbour is only a short walk away ( please note the walk back is a very steep walk if you aren’t so good on your pins). The cottage itself was lovely and felt homely in the living area and a nicely equipped kitchen. All decorated nicely throughout with lovely comfortable bed - the main bedroom was nice and warm ( we stayed in October). Charming character cottage which we would recommend - our only gripe, and this may sound a little churlish, was the limited supply of logs for the log burner - the owners only supply 1 basket ( which was only 3 logs ) with suggestions of where to buy more which we thought was a bit off for the amount of rental (£488 for two nights) paid so really a better supply of logs needed.

Lovely cottage in a great location, everything we needed was there with very comfortable beds too.

Nice garden which was great for our dogs and close to the village centre. Ideal place for exploring the area. We would happily recommend the property to anyone

Lovely little cottage in the beautiful Boscastle.

It was very spacious for two adults, a child and a dog. There was everything you could possibly need in the kitchen which was helpful. Being an old cottage it’s was clean, hard not to have the odd cobweb etc. We couldn’t get any channels on the TV to work (not that we were there to watch tv) and would have loved a bbq in the garden to enjoy the outside space more. The table and chairs out there are a bit dated. Overall a great place to stay! Thanks

A lovely traditional stone cottage in the heart of Boscastle.

Beautiful balcony and views over the valley, dogs loved the garden and the sunny mornings on the balcony. Kitchen is well equipped for simple self catering, sofas are comfy, beds are comfy. Wifi was amazingly good in the cottage too. Shower was glorious! Parking wasn't easy, but we know Boscastle well enough to expect that, height of summer i should think it's even worse. We also knew that the cottage was at the top of the hill so definitely not for the faint hearted! Would stay again though...

A lovely, homely cottage, with everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

We really liked to cosy up in front of the fire, enjoyed the comfy bed, and the shower is great. Parking at our time of year visiting was no issue but imagine more of a challenge in peak season, but that’s just Boscastle and the car park is only a short walk away. One of the most relaxing stays we have had in Boscastle and would definitely book again. Thankyou

Nice little cottage but problems with the hot water which meant that we had tepid showers and not enough hot water for a bath for the entire week.

A representative came and said that an element had malfunctioned in the boiler and that it would be replaced the next day but when we left a week later it was still lying unopened in the utility room. Disappointing as the area is lovely but lukewarm showers after facing the rainy Cornish weather really marred our trip.

Beautiful cottage and garden.

Parking was a challenge but wouldn't put us off visiting again. Little extras tea/coffee and milk on arrival were very much appreciated. Such a friendly village.
