The sitting area offers a relaxing space to unwind, with two plush sofas and a selection of books and games for your entertainment.

Alternatively, you can settle in and enjoy your favourite program on the TV for a night in.

The dining area seats four, perfect for enjoying home-cooked meals or planning the day's adventures.

We had a fantastic holiday at Combe cottage!

We will definitely be booking again next year. We have stayed at Pendra loweth, many times, over the years. This cottage has got to be our favourite! A proper home from home feel to it. Many thanks to the owners who allowed us the privilege of staying there.

Lovely location, lovely property, secluded with well tended grounds, a feeling of privacy and peace with a nearby babbling brook, the occasional red squirrel darting up a tree; everything perfect for any length of stay.

All round a lovely cottage, where you can see the effort has been made to make decorative improvements, I’ve been visiting Pendra for many years now and it’s nice to see Coombe Cottage has had some bits done to improve the original interior from 20 years ago!

Lovely layout and setup☺️ There were however a few issues unfortunately. There was/is mould on the grout of the shower, as well as a chip in the bath. You can also see where on the cream walls, it’s only one coat of paint over the previous colour, as it’s coming through. There was also dust on the windowsill, as well as dust throughout on other windowsills and blinds. The main bedroom is lovely, however I personally struggled with the mattress, and it contributed towards my sciatic nerve injury but appreciate this is different to different tastes, but felt like maybe it was a tired mattress. The kitchen frustratingly the dishwasher has issues, it turns on and works through a cycle no problem, but then doesn’t actually wash the dishes and says there’s an issue with the water. As it was just myself it was easy to wash up by hand, but maybe something that needs to be checked. I was also really baffled at how there was lots of cupboard space, but every single cupboard was full of stuff, so there actually wasn’t anywhere to leave my food shopping if it wasn’t for the fridge. I was also slightly baffled at how the pet pack had cat biscuits and cat toys, when on the booking I said my dog was also coming, so these were unsuitable. I think maybe the cottage was cleaned after the last booking and then there was a gap before myself, as whilst clean there was dust in places, and there was also no milk left in the fridge as stated on the welcome card on the blue tray. Overall I did enjoy my stay and aesthetically the cottage is lovely, cosy and enjoyable to stay in. But finer details that are equally as important have been overlooked.

Hello Sasha thank you for your review and comments. Sykes advised me you were bringing a cat, not a dog , hence the cat paw pack and on the booking it just says 1 pet, no feature requests were made to advise you were bringing both a cat and dog. I will also speak to the housekeeper about the milk as it should have been left. I will take on board your comments re the decor and mattress. The mattress is not very old, but people have different requirements. I will check the dishwasher when I come down in 2 weeks and if it requires any attention I will see to it.There is cupboard space for groceries available but perhaps the previous occupier had moved things around.We will endeavour to address the concerns raised shortly.
