The Old Barn

It’s a really nice house , spacious and generally comfortable and well equipped .

The drive down the track to the house is horrendous , it’s not a road it’s a load of potholes . There was no bbq available which was very disappointing and there was no kingsize bed . One of the beds creaked on the slightest movement. The road in is the biggest draw back . Other than that a nice place to stay

Very comfortable stay at The Old Barn.

Well appointed house that was warm and cosy. Garden spaces were well thought out and easy to find a nice spot to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Very quick response from caretaker and local assistance when requested. Tight and bumpy track to the house at times but this is well described and was not an issue at all. Quiet and friendly cluster of neighbours in this small hamlet.

Overall, really lovely spacious house.

Entrance hall perfect for beach admin and great social kitchen area with comfy chair, breakfast bar and utility. Outside eating areas and garden are amazing too! Upstairs was very clean, lovely big bath, showers also amazing and perfect after a not so warm day in the beach (downstairs one in particular!). A few things to consider to ensure accuracy and cleanliness is that I have a sneaky feeling the beds aren't king-size but regular doubles (?) (disappointed as we love a big holiday bed as a treat), and the mattress in the ensuite could perhaps do with replacing (feels a bit soft and saggy and didn't do our backs any favours). Moreover, we chose this property because we were going to bring our dog (didn't in the end) so I appreciate what a dog can add to cleaning however there were long black dog hairs everywhere downstairs, to the extent where it evidently hadn't been cleaned/hoovered adequately. We have a three month old that we wanted to put on the floor, and when we'd put her down on the rug in the living room she was covered with hairs. We brushed the kitchen floor multiple times over to get it clean enough too. Mentioning as it's an important but very easy one to resolve with perhaps a more powerful vac/attention to detail by cleaning services, and I'm sure it wouldn't happen again after mentioning here as otherwise the property was spotless, so perhaps just overlooked after the previous stay by accident. We had an amazing stay.

The Old Barn is the perfect spot for a family holiday. Spacious, welcoming and comfortable. We enjoyed every moment. Piano recitals, solitaire challenges, lounging in the garden and watching the bats swooping at twilight. We even enjoyed some jazz with the cows!! Thank you for the hamper. I fell in love with the area last year after a short break in Sennen. Worth the long trek from Scotland. I’ll be back again.

We arrived after a long journey to this beautiful house , surrounded by nature, all lovely and clean with a welcome back of local treats.

We found everything we needed was in the house, including a BBQ which we used. Perfect place for exploring the West of Cornwall, nothing was far

Superb, exceptionally well equipped property with everything you could need and more.

Lovely quiet location. The only downside is the access road, which is very "agricultural". However, our Sainsburys delivery van got through and the driver was happy enough. I can't praise the property itself enough.

Charming cottage in a quiet location with lots of walks.

On arrival was greeted by lovely hamper and a spotless interior. Wonderful collection of books. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved this place, the cleanliness of it was superb and the comfort, loved the area and the property.

We liked the peace and quiet of this cottage, no road noise, just the friendly sound of jackdaws and the breeze in the trees.

Our little doggy enjoyed the varied levels of the garden. We struggled to get to grips with the Lamona digital touch screen oven and we couldn't find written instructions or online ones either. This proved a problem when the oven turned itself off half-way through a pot roast while we were out. Flies in the kitchen became an issue, not surprising, given the location. We happened to have a nerf gun with us which was surprisingly effective against the little biters (blighters). Future guests might like to arm themselves with an old fashioned sticky fly paper. Our old T4 coped well with the track and we can't think any vehicle would struggle to navigate the bumps. Anyone interested in history will be delighted with the secret curiosity box. This was a great place to stay, secluded and tranquil, and if we were inclined to come back to this area we would not hesitate to re-book. Thank you.

Loved this very comfortable and well equipped house.

A perfect getaway for me and my family, the welcome pack was a lovely touch too. The rural location was fabulous with easy walking right from the door.

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Barn, the space was perfect for our multi generation family providing enough space for us all.

The house was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and Tanya, the housekeeper was very helpful and respionded quickly to my questions. The house was at the end of an unmade road which was not a problem to us but it woud be a smoother ride if it was levelled out. I would definitely reccomend the house. St Just was only a few minutes away by car and had a co-op and few shops.

We had a good week at the Old Barn, the property is very clean and well presented although the lounge area could do with updating.

It should be stressed that the tracks leading to the cottage are very very rough. Fortunately we have a small SUV which just about withstood the bumps but as the landfill site is very close with lorries going up and down, it seems impossible for the maintenance of the road to be upkept. After a torrential downpour, it was even worse. Kitchen area and the I folding door a treat.

We loved staying there so much we shed a tear when it was time to leave.

It was homely, comfortable & surrounded by absolutely idyllic scenery. There’s a cheeky little farm cat that hangs around and greets you whenever you’re in the garden & the garden itself is wonderful, so many places to sit and really great for kids to play in. We’re looking to book again next year we loved it that much. The only bit of feedback I’d give is there was no cupboard space to store food & we ended up leaving it in the utility room as didn’t want it all over the sides.
