Andrea “We had a lovely stay in Trevean, We really appreciated the cream tea and the milk which was there for us when we arrived and also that there were teabags.”
The cottage was in a good location with a 20 min or so walk along the mining trail to Portreath and the beach. The conservatory with the back garden leading off was great. We also appreciated the cupboard with games and jigsaws. Overall the accommodation could be improved by having at least a few basic food stuffs in the cupboards (e.g. salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, sugar, coffee etc) and a few more basic toiletries - e.g. liquid hand soap in the bathroom, a better supply of toilet rolls - we ...

The property
Trevean has character and charm in abundance and is just 1 mile from the golden sandy beach at Portreath. A well placed location, this beautiful cottage is on the outskirts of Portreath, the village centres around its harbour and beach and is popular among families.
It has friendly shops and cafes to keep hunger and thirst at bay after a fun time in the sunshine.
A welcoming atmosphere can be found at the pub which is within yards of the property, listen to some live music, make new friends or just sit and enjoy a drink in the beer garden - you really are spoilt for choice.
There is an old mining walk way which is off road and takes you into the village if you didn't want to take the car.
The coastal footpath south to Bassets Cove is a five mile amble there and back with exhilarating cliff top views.
The path to Porthtowan is a four mile trip - a famed surfing beach with golden sands and rolling dunes and is well worth the effort.
Tehidy Country Park is less than a mile away and offers a change of scenery with woodland nature trails, ponds and lakes where you can pony trek or cycle.
A 15 minute drive will take you to picturesque St Agnes, a very popular coastal village with a thriving community, good shops, galleries and four fabulous, unique beaches.
This traditional stone cottage still retains many original features whilst embracing a touch of luxury.

REDRUTH
Falmouth 10.5 miles; St Ives 16 miles.
Redruth is a small town in Cornwall, dating in parts from the 12th century. It was once the centre of Cornish mining history and is now at the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is a selection of shops, pubs and eateries, and the town holds a variety of continental markets throughout the year. Attractions close to Redruth include the Carn Brea Trail, The Great Flat Load, which is fantastic for cyclist and dog walkers alike, Tolgus Tin Stream Works, and the Tehidy Country Park. The beach at Portreath is a 10 minute drive, or 2.5 miles from Redruth. The entire stunning North coast is a suburb playground for surfing and all watersports, with resorts such as St Ives, Falmouth, the Roseland Peninsula and the whole Lizard Peninsula within easy reach. A superb destination for your Cornish holiday.
