The property

Pelagos (which means the open sea), is a detached holiday home situated in a small, quiet close, perfect for those looking for a fun-filled family holiday, or a relaxing costal retreat. It's a short stroll to both Summerleaze and Crooklets beaches, and the town centre, with its independent shops and supermarket just around the corner, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds, all within easy walking distance. The house is spacious and enjoys a high quality, contemporary interior with a electric stove for a relaxed setting. A private driveway offers three parking spaces to leave your vehicle, making loading and unloading an easy task. The sitting room is a bright space, with two three-seater sofas, two easy chairs, coffee table, and a electric stove to keep you warm.

It also comes with a Smart TV and a portable Bluetooth speaker for keeping yourself entertained. The well-equipped contemporary kitchen / diner, with glossy grey units, microwave, and an electric oven and hob, are ideal for preparing heart-warming meals, and there’s a dishwasher to do the washing up for you. Patio doors lead to the rear garden with a patio and lawned area, perfect for a morning coffee, relaxing evening drink, or for enjoying a sizzling barbecue and alfresco dining for eight. Back inside, the kitchen / diner leads to a utility area, with doors to a king-size en-suite bedroom. Upstairs there are a further two king-size bedrooms, one en-suite; and also a twin bedroom.

The upstairs family bathroom with bath, shower over, and a heated towel rail, is modern and spacious. Take advantage of your central location in Bude, from swimming or paddle boarding in the Bude Sea Pool, set among the golden sands of the award-winning, surfer’s paradise of Summerleaze Beach, strolling alongside the picturesque Bude Canal, walking the dramatic costal path, to exploring Efford Down Park with its iconic landmark, the ‘Pepper Pot’. And of course, no trip to Bude would be complete without sampling the delicious food on offer at cafes like The Olive Tree, Rosies Kitchen and Starboard Wood Fired Bistro. Visit the nearby village of Tintagel, home to a medieval castle that was once the home of King Arthur, or the Old Post Office, an historic National Trust building. The village of Port Isaac is also worth a trip, with its narrow streets, old fishermen's cottages and dramatic rocky coastline, it is a popular tourist destination especially for fans of the Doc Martin TV series.

The village is also home to Doyden Castle, a 19th century folly which is now a popular tourist attraction, and there are also a number of excellent restaurants and pubs in the village, including The Mote, Outlaw's New Road, and Outlaw's Fish Kitchen. For a wonderful Cornish costal escape, come to Pelagos.

About the location

BUDE

Tintagel 17 miles.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
