Lower Gadles

We had a wonderful week at Lower Gadles - the house was spotless when we arrived and it was comfortable and beautifully decorated.

The kitchen was really well equipped and little details had been thought of, like a lovely welcome hamper and the fire ready to be lit (which we needed, despite it being June!) The house is well-placed to explore Cornwall and we had a really fabulous week!

Lovely home, thank you for our brilliant holiday

We booked Lower Gadles so we could celebrate Christmas with the family in Cornwall and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.

We were contacted by Bev (the host) beforehand asking us if we wanted Christmas decorations which made it feel even more homely and we were left a delicious Christmas cake for our arrival. The pictures for Lower Gadles don’t quite to do it justice and it felt much bigger than expected - particularly the cosy lounge with the wood burning stove which comfortably sat the 8 of us. Lower Gadles was the perfect house for us to spend a family Christmas and we had a fantastic week - Thanks Bev!

Lower Gadles really does have the wow factor!

Loads of space, yet a cosy feel and everything you could possibly need. Very generous welcome pack and stunning cake greeted us which was very much appreciated. In 10yrs of using Sykes, we have never stayed at such a well equipped house with so many useful extras that we didn't know would come in handy! Location was also great for exploring and Falmouth itself was minutes away and is a lovely town with lots to do.

The property was beautiful! Just loved the conservatory. Would certainly recommend, also the Lemon Drizzle cake went down well with everyone. Thank you so much and hope we can come again!

Brilliant property that no one could possibly dislike.

Very clean, very well equipped, plenty of rooms for several adults to enjoy some quiet time, excellent location for touring all of Cornwall with Truro and Falmouth just 15 minutes by car. Good bus services and Asda superstore just 2 miles away. Nice touch welcome pack including home baked cake, tea and coffee provided by Bev who left us alone to enjoy the house and our holiday.

This house is one of the most comfortable we’ve ever stayed in.

It must be gorgeous in summertime with all its lovely garden around. It was cosy for us in a wet autumn week, and was exactly what we needed after a summer settling into a new house in a different town. Very relaxing.

Great house and very helpful owners

We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at Lower Gadles and couldn’t recommend it more.

It was beautifully clean, really spacious, and worked perfectly for our two families with children of different ages. Having two bathrooms upstairs meant each family had their own, plus the extra toilet/utility downstairs was so handy. The little snug was a big hit with the children, giving them their own space to play and unwind. Bev the owner was fantastic! Super friendly, quick to respond, and really helpful with everything. The cottage had such a welcoming feel and the homemade cake on arrival was absolutely delicious! The whole holiday so easy and enjoyable. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Lower Gadles is a wonderful house.

There is lots of room for a family to spread out, with ample TV and the bonus of table tennis. And a snug and conservatory for a read and a glass of wine. The gardens are lovely and a perfect setting for a barbecue. The kitchen is very well equipped, and throughout the house every detail has been attended to. Bev answered all our questions very quickly, and Ian sorted out a broken light switch the same day. Overall totally five star!

Location was perfect.

We have family near by so already aware it is a good base to reach all locations in Cornwall. Property was super clean and comfortable. Lots of space for the extended family. The lemon drizzle cake on arrival was amazing! Will look to stay here again.

Absolutely superb property and location.

So pleased that we found this house. It was a 'Wow' moment when opened up the house and had our first look around. There was plenty of space for the 7 of us. The house was very tastefully decorated and was very clean. Everything had been thought about in great detail. I would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely house, clean and a pleasure to stay for all the family

Where to start.

.. Well safe to say we hit the jackpot finding Lower Gadles, what an absolute gem and perfect for our sibling holiday. It was an ideal base for exploring in and around Falmouth, the Roseland Peninsula and further afield to Lands End, Mousehole & St. Ives. Lower Gadles is a cottage that delights as you pull up on the drive and entering this home you immediately feel the love and care that has been invested. Their is ample living space to meet all needs and ensure your comfort. The kitchen is well appointed and well stocked with all you would wish for, leading to the conservatory and relaxing dining space. The welcome pack and amazing lemon drizzle cake were perfect. Wander upstairs to take your pick of the bedrooms, all providing space and very comfortable beds. The main bathroom with it's roll top bath is a little bit of luxury for a relaxing dip after a busy day exploring. From the delights of the inside to a wonderful garden perfect for outside socialising and dining. Bev's communication is excellent and responds to any queries promptly. She provides thoughtful touches throughout and it is a home that has everything you could think of. Thank you Bev for your hospitality and sharing the welcoming and warm embrace of the family home that is Lower Gadles.

Absolutely amazing holiday home, worth every penny.

It just felt like home from home but a little more luxury. On arrival we had a lovely lemon cake made by Bev and even a welcome pack of essentials. I loved the cuckoo clock. We will definitely be back again some day.

Fabulous property on arrival Bev the owner had make us a cake and a variety of teas Bev made us very welcome and gave lots of information about the area .

All the bedroom's were great and very comfortable as was the lounge. The garden was great just to sit and watch the birds flying in and out of the nest feeding their young .We would recommend staying at The Gables

We had a fantastic week!

We can’t praise this beautiful cottage or its owners enough, they have got it spot on! From the lovely welcoming text sent by Bev before our arrival and depart such a considerate touch, to the generous basket of goodies left for us but also the extras like the table tennis, egg chair and all the garden facilities, we wanted for nothing. This cottage was truly outstanding from the immaculate cleanliness, exceptional comfort and perfect attention to detail. It felt luxurious with all your home comforts and much more. The quality of towels, bed linen and high end toiletries were the best we’ve ever had at any Sykes cottage which is saying something. We wished we had booked it for 2 weeks as we didn’t want to leave.

"We travelled from the West Midlands for our holiday.

We decided on a 2 week stay and are so pleased we did. Louise Goadles is a beautiful house with everything you need. The decor is perfect and was a real home from home. The children loved the table tennis table and tree swing so much. Lots of memories made. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and lemon cake - I need the recipe. We've done a boat trip from Penzance, visited the Minack, saw dolphins at Lands End, Eden Project, St Ives, Cape Cornwall and lots of rockpool exploring. We couldn't fault this holiday. Everything was amazing. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and provided us with a nice coffee & cake following our long drive down. What an amazing house! Very tastefully decorated. We could easily have stayed for longer than a week. We visited the Healeys Cyder farm, a great experience tasting the cyders and definitely got our money's worth.
