“Superb location, beautiful little get away.”

The property is well maintained and is spotlessly clean. Location is right on the pebbled beach with steps down to the right hand side of the property via the public footpath access (from the road). The property is well maintained and is spotlessly clean. Location is right on the pebbled beach with steps down to the right hand side of the property via the public footpath access (from the road). The view is beautiful and the atmosphere is very relaxing even though it is a working fishing bay. We never left the property apart from getting an ice-cream from the local cafe as we came to relax and unwind. The property itself welcomed us with a packet of Cornish biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge which was a lovely touch. The parking pass was located in the information pack and the car parked in the car park, which is a hefty distance away and up hill, so hard work when you went back for it, but if done slowly isn’t too bad, the description was correct regarding the parking. One recommendation I would make to the owners as I can see from the reviews they look at is to check the bed, as I agree with the last person’s review that is you lie on in on the left side nearest the door it has been used that much in the one position if you do not position yourself in the area where it is sunken, it feels like you will fall out, especially if you try and meet in the middle of the bed, the wife found it difficult to sleep but worked out the right position as it is a lovely mattress to sleep on. I would consider putting the tea and coffee out on one of the little white tables to allow guests to place their food in the cupboard above the fridge as there is no where for food to go if not needed to be in the fridge. I would also add a small saucepan; just enough for a little tin of baked beans and a small frying pan for eggs, as to use a massive frying pan to fry one egg is annoying. That’s all I would say to the owners, as their property is wonderful, I would definitely return and let the wife sleep on the other side of the bed

About the location

CADGWITH

Lizard 3.4 miles; Helston 11.1 miles; Coverack 8.2 miles.

A traditional fishing village on the tip of the Lizard Peninsula, Cadgwith is unspoilt and timeless. Quintessentially Cornish, its narrow streets are lined with former pilchard cellars, higgledy piggledy whitewashed cottages and charming smugglers’ inns. Time here is spent walking the coastal footpath, building sandcastles on the beach and fishing the waters for mackerel. The village is home to a small number of shops including a gift shop, craft shop and a fishmonger’s where you buy delicious crab sandwiches. It also has a lively events calendar, with weekly sea-shanty nights, summer barbecues, a regatta and a fortnightly fishing competition. The market town of Helston is eleven miles away, here you will find an excellent farmers’ market on the first Saturday of the month – a great place to pick up some local produce for your stay.
