“We’ve just returned from a fantastic week at Carines Barns and couldn’t be happier with our stay.”
The barn was beautifully presented – clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home.
The location is perfect – peaceful and scenic, yet just a short drive from Crantock, Holywell Bay, and Newquay. We loved exploring the local area – highlights included a brilliant day out at Lappa Valley, a fun visit to Newquay Zoo, and lots of time spent enjoying the beaches and countryside walks. It was the ideal base for both adventure and downtime.
The hot tub was a particular highlight and made for some perfect evenings under the stars. We were also pleasantly surprised to find some logs and firelighters, which meant we could enjoy a wonderfully cosy evening by the fire after our soak – a really thoughtful touch.
We also appreciated the little details throughout the property – plenty of kitchenware, comfortable beds, and lovely outdoor space. Communication from the hosts was excellent throughout – friendly, helpful, and prompt to respond.
We stayed as a family group, including my in-laws and young child, and the layout worked perfectly for all of us. If we had a couple of small suggestions, a new cheese grater (perhaps a sturdy box grater!) and an extra clothes airer would be really useful – especially on those inevitable wet days in Cornwall.
Sadly, we noticed the price for 2026 has increased by around 50%, which puts it outside of our budget for next year. That’s a real shame, as we would have loved to return. Nonetheless, we’ll absolutely be recommending Carines Barns to others looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Cornwall.
