Hawthorn Cottage

We spent a very happy week in this lovely cottage, which was immaculately clean and well-appointed.

We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and this is one of the best. The fact that the owners lived here for 10 years is evident in the quality of the fixtures and fittings and the practical layout. We appreciated the welcome pack of tea, coffee and biscuits. There was always a place to park a few yards away, by the church. The pub across the road has a great atmosphere, is dog-friendly and serves really good food (huge portions!). St Teath is well-positioned for exploring the north and south Cornwall coastline.

Hawthorn Cottage was a perfect “home away from home.

” It is furnished to a high standard and has everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfy and the cottage very clean. Liz and Alan were great hosts and had thought of everything. The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring North Cornwall and I’d recommend to all.

Delightful house in a great location.

Fully equipped and very comfortable. Pub over the road is great and food very good. The patisserie over the road makes the most amazing lemon tart. The owners are lovely and so warm and welcoming. Thoroughly recommend this place.

We all loved staying at Hawthorn cottage with its close proximity to all our favourite places such as Tintagel , Boscastle , Padstow and Wadebridge .

Also enjoyed The White Hart Inn across the road . Felt like the owners , Alan and Liz were very caring and wanted to make sure everything was satisfactory .Many thanks !

The cottage was very nice to stay.

It was comfortabel, very clean,good equipped, nice interior with good taste.We were very lucky that we could sit in the garden several times. We liked the little village and were lucky to see the bell ringing in the church and a morris dance performance at the pub. We also ordered a very good lemon tart in the bakery in front. It was a very good place to explore the neighbourhood and the beautifull cornish coast and villages. We really loved it!

We enjoyed the time in Hawthorn Cottage very much, in particular the very comfortable facility of each room.

The owners of the cottage were extraordinary kind and supporting, as we forgot a cushion, which they sent back. We can just recommend this cottage.

The cottage is so comfortable with everything you could possibly want. Our 2 dogs loved the enclosed garden and we were only half an hour from the lovely beaches. No problem with parking in the square. Liz the owner checked that we had everything we needed , which was much appreciated. I will be recommending the cottage to friends without hesitation

We were so grateful, after having to leave our Airbnb, for such a perfect, well appointed and considerately though out cottage. Liz was a thoroughly excellent host, who communicated really well with us during our stay, even looking to accommodate our design to get in a little early. The day we arrived we also got to experience the St Teath Carnival go right past the door, which was lovely. We can't recommend Hawthorne Cottage and Sykes highly enough. For us, our 2 older teenager daughters and the dog it was just perfect. Forever grateful.

We had a wonderful week in Hawthorn Cottage.

It was a real home from home which is no surprise as the owners used to live there. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, cutlery, glassware, utensils and cookware. The garden on 3 levels is great and secure for dogs. Getting sunshine all day is a real bonus especially with full bi-fold patio doors. The bedrooms are comfortable and nicely furnished with lots of hangers and storage. Two bathrooms and a great hall with more storage make it a lovely living space. We had a fire most evenings just for the joy of it. The heating was more than enough to make the cottage warm and toasty.

The cottage is certainly a hidden gem, well situated in the village and modern and clean throughout. Many thanks for the voucher we used in the White Hart Pub which is thoroughly recommended for some great pub food. Lola the Retriever loved the secure garden to stretch her legs in. The cottage is well placed for short journeys to Wadebridge and Padstow. Thoroughly recommend this gem to anyone and will be booking again.

We had everything we needed. It was warm and cosy - the beds were fantastic. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The pub, which is a few meters away, has very, very good food. We didn't take our dog on this travel, but would he have had joined us, he would have loved it as well. We would book Hawthron Cottage again and recommend it to our friends.

The description and photos do not do this place justice. Such a comfortable place. Everything we needed was there. Lovely bi-fold doors onto the patio. A bathroom downstairs and shower room upstairs. Becareful of the steep step up to the shower room. Tastefully decorated. Thankyou liz for the voucher. I would definitely recommend this property. Ideal base for a holiday in North Cornwall.

Beautiful cottage, very well equipped, great location highly recommend

It's a great property, it had all we needed and more as its well equiped with a toilet on both floors is a real bonus, that's not clear from the description.

It's good location to access local beaches and attractions. Would be happy to stay here again.

Great place to stay in North Cornwall - beautiful property, enclosed garden both very well equipped with everything you could need.

Village pub & cafe just across the road. No parking outside the property but always managed to get parked up outside the church ( less than a minutes walk away). Good communication & lots of helpful information from the owners. Would definitely go back & can recommend without hesitation

Recently returned from a lovely week at Hawthorne Cottage.

What a find this property is!.Every thought has been given to your comfort and needs even bowls and treats for the family dog.Beautifully furnished and decorated.Great kitchen,well equipped.Split level garden was well used especially for the shade on the hottest days.There was lots of useful info in the folder left in the Cottage.The owners were very helpful and friendly.St, Teath is a small village but a great place to explore Cornwall from.We would have no hesitation in recommending Hawthorne Cottage and would definitely Stay there again. :-)

Spent a lovely 3 nights at Hawthorn Cottge.

Everything as discribed and great that basics were there like cling film, foil, salt , pepper, spices and washing up liquid. Would recommend

Lovely holiday cottage in a lovely location, very friendly village and perfect for popping over to the pub.

Great set up in the cottage, clean and comfortable, everything you could need for your stay. Garden is enclosed so perfect for letting our 2 dogs out in the morning while getting a cuppa without worrying about what they are up to. This was a great base for us to explore the local area we will definitely be booking again. Thank you, Sarah.

Such a wonderful cottage, we loved our stay.

Everything was just perfect, we couldn’t recommend this comfy cottage enough. We will definitely be back and would love to stay in the warmer months to enjoy the lovely garden too. I believe our friends have already rebooked!

We were a party of 4 and the property was perfect for us.

Felt very at home. Would definitely look at booking this again if we wanted a break that was in easy commuting distance to my lampshade business, M4KE, in Launceston. We loved St Teath where everyone was so welcoming. We would've loved to have been able to sit out in the garden, however wrong time of year. The property had some lovely extra touches in the kitchen such as non-stick baking foil, cling film etc. Dishwasher only a small one, but we didn't go really to cook. The pub across the road had an excellent service and we enjoyed the food.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage and village local facilities really good shops and a pub just across the road which served good food.

All said we would highly recommend this property and location.

Can't speak any higher than this,the cottage is of the highest standard, it's in a beautiful village and the locals in the pub opposite, make u feel like a local whenever u visit.

We think there should blackout curtains at the front of the cottage as it is very bright in there at night.

A delightful cottage.

Beautiful quiet village close to some fabulous beaches. Pub over the road with good beer and food. Great butchers and store in the village.

The cottage was beautiful and a high standard of finish, facilities were excellent, bedding luxurious, bathrooms clean and the location was perfect to get to all the main places we wanted to visit.

Hawthorn Cottage is a well appointed home from home with plenty of facilities that are of good quality and very useful.

I would suggest some blackout blinds for the front bedrooms and some sort of covering for the round window in the back bedroom purely to get a longer sleep.
