    “Pendower Cottage has got to be one of the best-situated holiday homes in the country.”

    It is impossible not to feel relaxed and uplifted simply by looking out of the window! Inside, careful attention has been given to furnishings and kitchen equipment with a view to fostering a feeling of stylish luxury as well as practicality. Eg the mattress! I checked under the sheet for the name! We’re getting one!! With this embarrassment of riches, it’s perhaps not surprising that minor issues become irksome: the impressive-looking hob arrangement was awkward to use and rather ...

Inside, careful attention has been given to furnishings and kitchen equipment with a view to fostering a feeling of stylish luxury as well as practicality. Eg the mattress! I checked under the sheet for the name! We’re getting one!! With this embarrassment of riches, it’s perhaps not surprising that minor issues become irksome: the impressive-looking hob arrangement was awkward to use and rather ‘style-over-content’; the lack of a microwave was a surprise; the good-looking sofa was VERY low and could have been more comfortable; the attractive lighting in the sitting-room was somewhat harsh when in use. Having said all that, staying in Pendower was an overwhelmingly positive experience and one that we would happily repeat. Just don’t change the mattress!

Just a few steps from Porthgwarra Cove beach, Pendower Cottage is set in the heart of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Enjoy stunning seascapes from the open-plan living space, bedroom, and garden complete with an outside seating area. The open-plan living space has a fully equipped, modern kitchen, dining and sitting area, complete with cosy woodburner, where you can relax in comfort and take in the views. The large bedroom offers a comfy superking-size bed, and the stylish bathroom comes with a double walk-in shower. Step out of the front door straight onto the South West Coast Path to explore the rugged coastline of the Land’s End Peninsula.

Porthgwarra Cove Café is close at hand where you’ll find fresh barista coffee, delicious homemade cakes and Moomaid Cornish ice cream which is made just down the road in Zennor. Birdwatchers will be able to spot rare seabirds and choughs at Gwennap Head and the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno is a 25-minute walk along the scenic coastal footpath.

The parish of St Levan derives its name from the 4th Century saint who settled here. The ancient ruins of his Chapel can still be seen today above Church Cove, one of three beautiful and secluded beaches on this wild, unspoilt, and staggeringly beautiful peninsular, the most South Westerly point in the UK. Porthgwarra, the next beach along, sparkles at the end of a valley. You’ll find tunnels hewn into the cliffs, and the Porthgwarra Cove Café, along with the Guest Hub. It is the place to go for breakfast, lunch, ice cream, cakes, cream teas, pasties, helpful advice, and arranging holiday fun. Seals are endlessly dropping by. Continue over the clifftops and you arrive at Nanjizal, accessible only by foot and without a road in sight. At one end stands the stunning Zawn Pyg (‘Song of the Sea’) a natural rock arch that has captivated people for centuries. If the fancy took you to go on, then Sennen is around the corner. As well as being nestled in secluded coastal locations, our cottages are just a stone’s throw from some of Cornwall’s best-loved sights. Porthcurno and the Minack Theatre are within walking distance. St Michael’s Mount, St Ives, and many of the area’s best beaches are just a short drive away.
