The property

Little Trethellan is a detached holiday home situated in the quiet hamlet of Trethellan, close to the village of Lanner in Cornwall.

Set across a single level, it has a straightforward, easy-to-use layout that works well for couples or small families, including those travelling with a dog.

Its countryside position puts you within convenient reach of both the Cornish coastline and inland walking routes.

The open-plan living space brings together the kitchen, dining area and sitting room in one welcoming setting.

The kitchen includes everything required for a self-catered break, oven, hob, fridge, freezer, kettle and toaster, so you can prepare meals without any fuss.

A dining table is provided for shared meals, and the sitting area offers comfortable seating along with a woodburning stove, a pleasant spot to relax after time spent outdoors.

The property has two bedrooms: one with a super-king-size bed and another with a double, giving flexibility for different groups.

A family bathroom completes the interior, fitted with a bath with shower over, basin and WC.

Outside, an enclosed garden with a lawn and outdoor furniture offers a private space to enjoy a drink in the fresh air or unwind at the end of the day.

Off-road parking is also available for added convenience.

The surrounding countryside features quiet lanes and footpaths ideal for dog walking or gentle exploring straight from the doorstep.

Stithians Lake provides a fantastic day out with a wide range of watersports including sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking and fishing, alongside scenic off-road walking and cycling routes. For those keen to explore on foot or by bike, a public footpath located directly opposite the property leads to an extensive network of off-road trails.

This includes access to the well-known Kernow Way cycling route, which stretches through beautiful Cornish countryside to the coast at Portreath, as well as the historic Mineral Tramways, offering miles of routes rich in the area’s mining heritage.

Redruth is a short drive away and provides shops, cafés and pubs, while the nearby village of Lanner has useful local amenities.

For coastal outings, Portreath is within easy reach with its sandy beach and access to the South West Coast Path.

St Agnes offers striking clifftop views and independent shops, and Falmouth, slightly further afield, is well worth visiting for its beaches, galleries and maritime heritage.

Tehidy Country Park and the cathedral city of Truro are also close by, giving you further choices for days out.

Little Trethellan serves as a well-placed base for exploring Cornwall’s varied landscapes and attractive towns.

About the location

LANNER

Redruth 2 miles; Falmouth 9 miles; Portreath 7 miles.

Just outside Redruth on the road towards Falmouth, Lanner was once part of Cornwall’s mining epicentre. Today, the village is welcoming and friendly, with a number of convenience stores, a well-stocked petrol station, a bakery selling excellent Cornish pasties, a village hall and several good pubs, including the Coppice public house and the Fox and Hounds, both of which serve traditional pub fare. You'll also find a garden centre that serves breakfast and lunch for hungry visitors. Numerous cycling trails can be found in Lanner, along with Carn Marth that overlooks Lanner village and the coastline from its hilltop location; a former granite quarry, this site now hosts a small, open-air theatre with performances held throughout the summer. In neighbouring Redruth, you will find a multi-screen cinema, whilst in nearby Carn Brea, you will find a former medieval castle (now a restaurant), which once belonged to Lord Bassett, the most influential mine owner in the area during the 18th and 19th centuries. The beaches at Portreath and Porthtowan are just a short drive from Lanner, and there are several off-road cycle trails in the area, including the Coast to Coast Trail which follows the original tramway from Portreath on the north coast to Devoran on the south.

This property offers the following short breaks:

  • Winter
  • Off-season
  • Last minute
  • Christmas
