“My wife and I loved the cottage and in our minds it was centrally located within Cornwall and we wrere only 30 mins from away from the majority of the areas on our "must visit list".”

The whole cottage was spotlessly clean and the off road parking was a bonus as on both our previous holidays in Devon/Cornwall the lack of access/parking was problimatical. If you are looking for a secluded getaway place, then, this is the cottage for you.

Adrenalin Quarry, a unique outdoor playground for adults and kids in and around a flooded quarry, is a great place to start the day.

If you're looking for somewhere more tranquil, though, go to South Phoenix Mine or Golitha Falls to witness the magnificent falls down a part of the River Fowey.

Take a day trip to the Cheesewring to immerse yourself in the local tales.

According to legend, this collection of stone arrangements was the result of a contest between the giants Uther and Saint Tue.

In addition, Torpoint highlights Wacker Quay and Tregantle Fort, two nearby hiking hotspots where you can enjoy a picnic while taking in the scenery and ocean vistas.

As an alternative, you might like to explore the rockpools and sand pathways of Readmoney Cove or go to Fowey Aquarium to learn about the fish, shellfish, and marine life found along the Cornish Coast.

About the location

LISKEARD

Looe 9 miles, Bodmin 13 miles.

Pensilva is a moorland village with its origins in Cornwall’s tin mining history. This part of Bodmin Moor has all the raw beauty of a wilderness with many well known landmarks including the rugged Cheesewring Quarry, where granite was taken to build Plymouth’s Devonport Dockyard, and also the remote village of Minions, home of the famous Hurlers stone circles. Further west there are spectacular walks to Rough Tor and Brown Willy. There are a host of watersports available at nearby Siblyback Reservoir which is also an excellent spot for fishing. The market town of Liskeard is close by, while the famous fishing port of Looe on the south Cornwall coast is approximately 14 miles away and other noted coastal beauty spots such as Polperro and Fowey are all within close proximity.
