The property

Hidden Door is a delightful, ground-floor apartment based in the heart of Penzance, Cornwall.

Enjoying easy access to local amenities, including a beach, Hidden Door provides a splendid bolthole for couples seeking a break in this part of Cornwall.

Park your car on the roadside and breathe in the salty air before getting to know your new home-from-home.

Internally, the apartment features a contemporary décor, with imposing high ceilings and in the kitchen there is a vaulted ceiling and large skylight that floods the room with light.

An inviting and spacious sitting room is the idyllic spot to return to after a long day and provides a true home-from-home feel where you can get lost in a good book or delight in some light entertainment.

As you become hungry, move into the kitchen/diner to prepare a sumptuous feast to be enjoyed at the breakfast bar for two, with a number of appliances to assist with home-cooking.

There’s even a dishwasher and a washing machine, handy for when your trails take off on a muddier route!

As the night rolls in, head to the double bedroom to recharge before awakening to a refreshing shower in the morning.

Penzance makes a great holiday base; become better acquainted with your surroundings and head out on foot to feel the wind in your hair on the coastal path, browse the bustling harbour and refuel at a local café or restaurant.

Browse the delights of the Penlee House Gallery and Museum, head to the outdoor Jubilee Pool for a swim or take in the sights at 16th-century Trengwainton Garden.

After all that, tuck into a portion of fish and chips, or if you’re seeking more adventure, why not catch a ferry over to the Isles of Scilly?

Marazion is a must visit for wildlife lovers, home to the RSPB Marazion March, whilst the art galleries at St Ives can be found slightly further afield.

With plenty to look forward to, a stay at the Hidden Door awaits.

About the location

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
