“The cottage was very clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and ideally located within the village.”

Unfortunately, there was no welcome manual provided and no local contact details available should assistance be required. During the second day of our week-long stay, the internet and TV services stopped working, and we were unable to identify a local point of contact for support. As a result, these services remained unavailable for the remainder of our stay, which was disappointing.

“The Property was ok, but your description of the garden is completely misleading, the steps are a potential death trap to small children , you should also mention that the front door opens straight on to the road, both these points are important if people are bringing your kids to the cottage.”

“Fantastic location and little cottage.”

Really enjoyed our stay here. Family of 4, 2 children 10 and 7. House was perfect size with plenty of space and cosy. Good bathroom size and bonus mini garden that gets the sun. Well equipped kitchen as i cook a lot this was great. Our 5th time to coverak now. We found the hot water immersion off and took a small while to work out that. Other than that we will be back.

“We had a wonderful stay at Penhaven and would highly recommend it as a base.”

It's very cosy, well equipped and in a great location- close to the beach, harbour and coast walks, right opposite the village store and a short walk to the always welcoming Paris pub. We were in Coverack with our 2 children for the 90th birthday party of a local family member at the beginning of January and we all loved seeing the colourful Christmas lights along the front, very festive! Things which would have been helpful - a hatchet/small axe for splitting firewood. Some of the logs were too big to be useful. We ended up borrowing one. - instructions for the Sky box, we couldn't work out how to use it! (We had our own devices, so wasn't a problem) - the kitchen table is very wobbly! We tried to stabilise it but couldn't. (also the chairs are extremely heavy - some people might struggle to lift them) - the oven could do with a clean. There was a strong greasy smell when it was turned on (possibly it was used to make a big Christmas dinner the week before?!) Anyway, all minor details - essentially it's a very lovely, comfortable cottage and we really enjoyed our time. Thank you!

About the location

COVERACK

St Keverne 2.3 miles; Helston 11.6 miles; Falmouth 18.5 miles.

Coverack is a small fishing village on the Lizard Peninsula, a few miles from Lizard Point in Cornwall, the most southerly point on mainland Britain. Coverack is a beautiful and peaceful place to escape the main tourist routes and offers a beach in the sheltered bay, which is ideal for swimming, windsurfing, and kayaking, as well as shops, pub, and restaurants. Further amenities lie in St Keverne, which has a post office, shops and 2 traditional pubs. The Lizard Peninsula has many spectacular coves and beaches and is noted for its rare geology and plants. From Lizard Point there are wonderful sea views from the windswept cliffs, which provide fabulous walking opportunities along this stretch of the South West Coast Path. Inland is the market town of Helston, known for its Flora Day Festival, and in Gweek is The Cornish Seal Sanctuary, whilst approximately ten miles away is the Culdrose Airfield, where once a year the public are welcome to come and meet the Fleet Air Arm, the Royal Navy’s flying force. Coverack is ideally located for exploring The Lizard Peninsula, as well as the lovely seaside towns of St Ives and Falmouth and many other beaches and pretty villages.
