Our favourite 2nd home by the sea. Can’t rate this place highly enough.

What a fantastic house this is!

The layout is great for a large family, all on one level, with superb views of the sunset over Crantock. Lovely to wake up and have a morning coffee looking out to see. Very dog friendly and the walk down to the beach via the dunes was good fun. Crantock is a lovely village and a couple of perfect pubs, food in the Albion is really good and the pizzas in Jam Jar highly recommended! We will be back!

Great position and spacious accommodation.

Parking comfortably fits 4 cars in. A couple of issues prevent top marks: the dustbins hadn’t been emptied and weren’t during our stay which meant it was very difficult to cram the bin bags in; the heating didn’t come on one morning (but was fine the rest of the time so maybe programming not quite right?); a query to the contact before our visit wasn’t answered, and a promised notification if the prop was ready before 4pm didn’t happen (it was ready as we chanced it at 3.15pm).

A lovely house with a view of Crantock beach.

The footpath to the beach is close to the house, just off the main road. This takes you over the dunes and down to the beach. The house is well equipped and had everything we needed (except a pizza cutter, which we'd taken just in case) Very clean and the garden is quite large, our dogs loved the odd zoomy around it as it wraps around the house. Would definitely recommend and would return (though we're probably moving to Cornwall anyway next year)

3rd visit - excellent all round.

This visit, washing machine failed and was replaced within 3hours.

We stayed at this bungalow as a family of six (plus our dog) and overall had a really enjoyable time.

The garden is absolutely stunning—huge, beautifully kept, and with amazing views that made for a peaceful, relaxing setting. Our Cane Corso absolutely loved having the space to run around! The bungalow itself has plenty of charm, although it could benefit from a little maintenance in a few places. When we arrived, the sunroom was unfortunately full of flying ants, which wasn’t ideal after a 7-hour drive. That said, once we got past that initial hiccup, we settled in nicely. The layout worked well for our family group, but getting my mother—who uses a wheelchair—out to the car was a bit of a challenge. The stepping stones in the garden are tricky to navigate with wheels. It’s worth noting, though, that the property isn’t advertised as wheelchair accessible, so this isn’t a complaint—just something for others to bear in mind if accessibility is a priority. In short: stunning garden and views, a peaceful location, and a good space for a family holiday with a dog. With a few improvements, it could be even better.

What an absolute gem of a property!

Fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The views are spectacular and location superb. Our dogs loved the huge garden (there is a gap in the fence/bush up on the bank near the washing line which we had to be careful of) Crantock beach is wonderful and the village (10 min walk) has 2 fabulous pubs. We are currently planning our next visit.

This is a fabulous cottage.

We all really enjoyed our holidays. Whilst certainly not a criticism, the activity of moles is spoiling the appearance of the lawn. Thank you for letting us stay in Pentraeth. John Wilkinson and family members.

2nd visit and booked for a third.

Our only comment is that on both visits we have needed more general waste and recycling bags than provided. 8 people generate quite a lot. Also there were no bags for the smaller dog poo bag bin. Other than that, faultless. Thank you.

A million pound view.

A perfect quiet retreat close to many amenities. Would recommend it to anyone.

Pentreath comfortably accommodates 8 adults and a dog and everything is of a high standard.

The views are amazing and in a peaceful setting. Definitely will be returning again.

Lovely place for a relaxing holiday - we have been coming since 2014 - highly recommended

This was our 2nd visit to Penreath this year and it was again very comfortable and enjoyable.

The 'Welcome Back' cream tea pack which was delivered midweek was a very nice surprise, so thank you very much owners! I am sure we will return yet again in the future.

Really comfortable house, ensuite made it great for two families to share.

Thanks for making it so dog friendly. Beautiful views from the house and gardens and the patios either side were great for breakfast and an evening drink. A couple of steamer chairs on the garden would have made it ideal for getting some sun whilst waiting for the family to get up.

A delightful cottage with a large garden and spectacular sea views.

The owners have thought of absolutely everything to make it 'home from home'. It was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Our two young dogs loved the freedom and size of the garden. Would highly recommend this property and we look forward to returning again one day.

A lovely fully equipped comfortable property with beautiful views.

We have booked again for September this year so that says it all really.

This was our second stay at Pentreath.

We stayed for a week in 2022 and booked for 2 weeks this time. While we were there we found the cottage was not booked for the following week so we snapped it up and stayed for 3 weeks altogether. It's a bit big for just 2 of us but means we get our own space during quiet times. This is probably the best cottage we have stayed in over the years but there are one or two improvements (imho) that could be made. We used the 3 steps down to the sunroom most of the time but a handrail to help with the steps would be an advantage for me. Similarly in the shower - a handhold just gives a bit more confidence to those of us in our advancing years. The listing on Sykes is broadly accurate but it talks about a £200 bond being payable on arrival which was not required and the times of arrival and departure are also not accurate. We would like to go back next year but mobility issues may mean that isn't possible.

The whole family - 8 of us, a baby and a dog, had a wonderful time at Pentreath for Christmas.

We would highly recommend this property, it has the most wonderful views of the sea, all the amenities you need & is very comfortable and clean - an amazing place.

We had a great family holiday staying at Pentreath.

6 adults, 2 children & 2 dogs. The bungalow provided everything we needed, plus a lovely big garden & spectacular views. We will be coming back again.

. Lovely position and views. We had fantastic weather dogs and children loved the garden. Good meal had at the Albion Inn. Any queries quickly resolved by property manager Tracey...... Easy access to coast path for walks to Porth joke and Holywell Bay....

We have had a marvellous week at Pentreath and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is well appointed and comfortable for 4 couples, with several seating areas inside and out. The 7 minute walk to the beach at Crantock is not for the faint hearted given the height of the dunes you have to descend so we chose to go via the road to the car park which was around a 15 min walk.We have stayed in Crantock each summer for many years now and the views from this cottage are exceptional and the garden is a huge bonus too. Luna, a cocker spaniel puppy, had plenty room to run around and always found a shady spot when needed. A safe enclosed garden she didn't even try to escape from.

This holiday was nothing short of perfect.

We all absolutely loved it including our two dogs who were on the beach everyday! The cottage was spotless when we arrived and the facilities were faultless. We’re so glad we found this hidden gem which is only a short walk away from the village (and numerous pubs!!) When we arrived we noticed there was an aga which can be switched on by request for an additional £10 (I think!) a day which we didn’t know anything about. Although we didn’t need it in the summer, it would have been perfect for winter breaks. We will definitely be returning back in the near future! Thank you!!

wonderful family holiday at Pentreath.

Very comfortable and practical. I was unaware that the views would be so stunning so this was a lovely surprise. Easy to use equipment, plentyof parking and lovely beds.

Pentreath is a beautiful property in a stunning location.

It was clean, well appointed and had a garden that enabled the children to play in safety. I spoke to the owner about details just before the holiday date and she was exceptionally helpful. I would certainly recommend the property.

An ideal venue overlooking Crantock beach.

This was our first stay at Pentreath with a family group of 6 people from 71 to 8 years old plus 1 dog.

The cottage was very spacious and well laid out with plenty of room for everyone. The rooms were all lovely with high standard of decoration and fixtures. The kitchen area was really good for socialising in the evenings. We really appreciated the little touches on our arrival like hot drink packs, biscuits, milk in the fridge. The views were just amazing and the position of the cottage was ideal to get to numerous beaches. There were only a couple of issues, one of the showers (bedroom nearest the carpark) stopped working and although I left a voicemail message for the contact I had I never heard back - luckily there are plenty of showers so no problem for us. Also one of our party had a strong allergic reaction to the feather quilt and on checking there was no non-allergenic option so she had to buy her own. It would be great to have this as an option. Also the garden isn't really secure for a dog as within the first hour our dog had realised that the verge on the side of the carpark literally runs to the top of the fence and jumped out. Had to be on a lead in the garden after that. We would definitely come back to Pentreath - the positives far outweighed the few issues.

The views make this cottage they are incredible!

We loved the large enclosed garden for the dog’s and with the weather being so mild enjoyed sitting out in the sun with the provided seating. 10 minutes walk down to the centre of Crantock where you are welcomed into the Albion pub that does a great Sunday lunch. Don’t be put off by the Sunday-Sunday booking we found it the best day to come down as the traffic was better. The beds also super comfortable with down quilts, lovely! The only thing that would have improved the catering side is better pans, they had previously domed from the heat of the hob so everything fried slid to the sides of the two frying pans provided.

Location and close to the beach long walks with beautiful scenery so pleased with the sevice from Sykes staff We have booked with them for next year First class all round

A lovely house close to the beach and Crantock.

The village is lovely, with a couple of pubs and a village shop. The beach is beautiful with great waves and the estuary provides a calmer area for playing or paddle boarding. We will definitely return in the future.

No everything was as it should be except the weather

Great garden for the dog too with breathtaking views. None of us wanted to leave!

We have stayed around Newquay many times but never at Crantock.

The house was lovely, really well equipped and the views are stunning. I can understand why people go back time after time. One of the things we have found in previous houses is there are never enough bathrooms when you have a large party, not the case here, everyone is well catered for.

We have stayed at Pentreath twice a year since 2014, I think that says it all!

Pentreath is a very nice, spacious property with great views and everything to make it a home from home.

My family loved Pentreath & would like to stay there again.

Everything was good except that it was difficult to get hot water from some of the taps.

Great location and much more spacious than we imagined.

High quality fixtures and fittings making it a home from home. Beautiful sunsets. Perfect for two families. We would highly recommend this property to anyone considering a relaxing holiday in the area. Beaches fantastic and a short walk across the estuary into the nicer part of Newquay. our only suggestion would be to make some recycling bins available and then have it taken away by the service personnel

A perfect holiday for us - apart from the stunning views the cottage was very well equipped, especially the kitchen.

One small point that might be worth thinking about is a few sun loungers for the garden. I would most certainly book this holiday again and would recommend it for those who like a bit of peace and quiet and/or long coastal walks.

No sunbeds / comfy chairs to sit in the garden.

Otherwise, cottage is well equipped. Tiles /grouting in one of the ensuites needed a good clean.

I love this cottage and the local manager I have been coming here for 7 years.

It really feels like home from home. However this year looks like the last year as the prices have gone up 50% for the same week next year since Sykes have taken over.

We have gone to Pentreath for the Feb half term for many many years and were extremely disappointed to discover that on trying to book for 2020 a couple of days after returning this year that the week was already been booked by someone else.

For us that does not reflect well on the change of agency to Sykes

Lovley house and stunning view of the sea enjoyed the beach walks and the house was well equipped for large groups eating etc all utensils in the kitchen very warm and cosy.

We have stayed a couple of years ago at the property.

It has beautiful views of Crantock beach, is large 4 bedroomed. Most surprising was the lack of contact (except by an initial call to get the key code, and a text message) this is out of keeping with any of our experiences in similar properties over many years. Nobody visited us. Inside nothing seems to have changed much. Two of the electric showers are a completely inadequate trickle II can't imagine if you were a sporty surfer needing a full on hot shower you would be very disappointed. If you wanted a bath that would take ages to fill because of the boiler type. One female of our party who slim, nearly got trapped in the bath so what a big surfer would do God knows. We were 4 but if 8 people had stayed cooking for them would be difficult. The pots and pans are just not adequate for a party of this size. "dog friendly" I was not aware of any special or extra facility to justify charges. No throws to protect sofas, no shower or drier, no treats. In summary to continue to approach and justify the cost of rental this property needs upgrading. It didnt spoil our stay but neither did it encourage us to return. Which we won't be doing.

This was our third year so we knew what to expect.

Very well equipped and maintained house. Only 2 points to raise: hoover is rubbish and if the hose outside was a little longer wetsuits could be washed away from the path. Everything else great.

Lovely property.

It would have been good to receive a call or text to check if everything was ok during the stay. Grass was too long and should have been cut. Parking very tight for 3 cars. An enjoyable stay overall with beautiful views.

Which is an amazing holiday location. What ever the weather you have stunning views over Crantock bay. The bungalow is very comfortable and well equipped and always emaculatly clean. The garden is ideal for an energetic dog! We have booked with Cornwall Holiday Cottages for 6 years now. The personal friendly attention we have received from Delia and her team has made the process quite special. I hope now Sykes has taken over this isn’t lost.
