“A lovely cottage overall which is up the hill from the beach, and close to the pubs / pizzeria in Crantock.”

Parking was fine for our large estate car directly in front of the cottage. We had a lovely relaxed stay as a family of 4 with older teenagers and a small dog and would return to Crantock. We did feel overall though that the cottage itself was in need of a bit of TLC as it looked a bit tired in places - such as the carpet at the top of the stairs. The pillow and mattress protectors could do with replacing as they did have some stains on them which too which we only discovered when stripping ...

The pillow and mattress protectors could do with replacing as they did have some stains on them which too which we only discovered when stripping the beds at the end of our stay. We also felt that the garden area needed some attention as there were lots of leaves that had been there for some time on and around the garden furniture and there were lots of dead plants in various pots dotted around so consequently we didn’t really sit out - although we had good weather. Kitchen items could also do with some restocking. More wine glasses are needed as there were 3 plastics picnic ones (not that pleasant to drink from) and only one glass one. The DVDs, although plentiful, were rather out of date so none were watched. The sink in the bathroom off the main bedroom had a slow draining plughole so this filled up quickly when brushing teeth. We also took delivery of 3 Amazon parcels while we were there along with a builder coming over to quote for removing the shed - which didn’t seem quite right somehow while we were there as holiday makers although we were asked if it would be ok. The Prosecco and shortbread were a nice welcome and despite all the things mentioned, overall we had a good stay at Blacksmiths Cottage.

Thanks for your feedback, we note your particular concerns and will work to rectify them. We are sorry you found the cottage not up to standard. It really helps if breakages and issues are reported when they happen to our great housekeeping team, as they get fixed straightaway, which hasn’t happened with the glasses and the plug, for example. Apologies for this. Thank you for accommodating the builder, who made a visit regarding the shed with permission. The Amazon parcels were not for us, if you can please let us know who they were for, we can contact neighbours and request this does not happen. Thanks again for staying at our cottage.
