The Beach Hut

The accommodation was in a beautiful, picturesque village, in a fantastic location- near to the beach and a shop.

The village was beautiful, and the accommodation was spacious for three adults. Touches such as the Method washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, milk, scrabble and handsoap also added to our experience after a long journey. There was a lot about it that we loved. However, it was only superficially clean - the plates and cups were filthy and some items had chips. There were stains on bed linen and pillows. Cobwebs and spiders were frequent. The floor was also dirty, leaving a cover on our socks from the first day onwards (despite the sign to take off our shoes!), but we couldn’t clean it as the mop itself was filthy. The lavender in the garden was also so overgrown, that being stung by bees in attempting to get out of the garden was a genuine concern. The en-suite shower also had black marks around the tiles in excess. Having said this, we had the most wonderful time in Crantock. The beds were comfortable and even though we have moaned about the dirt, we would come again, only with a bag full of cleaning supplies.

After using the beach hut on numerous occasions I now feel it could do with a make over … the sofa and rug look like they need a good clean !

The door handle to upstairs is hanging off, the flush casing on downstairs en suite fell off and the bath plug didn’t work !! Also we had to move a couple of items of furniture and it was filthy and also playing cards and stuff left behind by previous guests ! For £1500 for a week i wasn’t impressed! Plus points the bed and bedding were clean and comfy and kitchen has everything you need and more x

Love the Beach Hut.

Stayed a number of occasions. Good central village location with walking from the door step, shop across the road and pubs around the corner. When in season the Jam Jar is a must visit, just a short 2 minute walk. Parking to rear of property which is rare for the centre of Crantock village. Split over three floors with a bedroom to the top floor( has a dressing room which is an ideal cot space) and bathroom, lounge and kitchen to the middle floor with access out to the garden and parking. The ground floor has two bedrooms and bathrooms, front door out onto the street. Everything you need for a weeks walking in Cornwall. Dog friendly cottage, stair gate to top of both stairs. Tracey the housekeeper is amazing, never bothers you but is always there to help if needed. Booked again for October.

Lovely property.

A couple of small suggestions is to have a couple of plastic containers with lids in the kitchen plus maybe cling film and kitchen foil in the drawers, have stayed in many places that provide and it makes all the difference
