Perfect location, can walk to all beaches, restaurants and shops.

Loved the property and especially the balcony with the view of the beach. Very well equipped, you can tell the owner has put a lot of love into the decor and really comfy beds! Parking wasn’t an issue as we were lucky enough to get two cars on the residential on street roads 5 minutes away. We’d definitely come again:)

This is a fabulous property.

You can’t beat the location, it’s right beside the beach and plenty of restaurants. It’s even right above a cafe! So handy. We didn’t realize there was a travel cot present on the property so lugged ours over from Ireland. This isn’t a criticism! It’s such a bonus to have one on site. We had our 1 year old with us, there’s a few steps in the living quarters to be mindful of. There are baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs, but I think they’re more for dogs as a baby could crawl underneath. It’s easy to put footstools beside them to block access for baby. We loved everything about this place and will be back. It’s super duper.

Love this place!

Lost count of how many times we've stayed here over the years. The owners have gone over and above to make this a great place to stay. We love the quirky decor and enjoy spotting new changes/additions when we arrive. The property is really clean and comfortable and feels like a home from home, there is everything you need. Fantastic views from the windows facing the sea and outside terrace. Convenient location - Sainsbury's is across the road for all your supplies and you're in amongst the shops, pubs and eateries, but in spite of that it feels peaceful. You're right by the harbour, and all the other local beaches, including Fistral, are within walkable distance. We travel by train and walk to and from the station to the property. The bus station is also within walkable distance for days out. Just a couple of points for consideration - the property doesn't have parking, not a problem for us and we can't comment on how easy it is to park. Also, there are quite a few steps up to the property and the apartment itself is over three floors so it may not be suitable for someone with mobility issues.

It was a lovely stay, the place was a great location and very well designed with the layout and bathrooms we had a great time and got lucky with the weather.

We would love to come back even though we are based in Cornwall ourselves!

Brilliant guest house, plenty of space, great entertainment area for families/friends.

Decorated very nicely, views of beach and sea are magnificent. Location is perfect to stroll through town, get to nearby restaurants annd do shopping. Closet beach Towan is 200 steps away, Fistral a 15 minute walk, harbour is just at your doorstep. Ace holiday we had

This was our 5th stay here, we really love this house & feels very much like home to home.

The location is perfect for us with the sea being a short walk away & the local shops on our doorstep. The views of the harbour & sea are also incredible from each window in the house. The house is very clean & has everything you would require whilst away from home. Be mindful there are a lot of steps within the property and some external steps to get up to the front door which may be difficult for some. Finding a parking space is never a problem this time of year & we were able to park outside the house on the main road every day. The hosts are easily contactable & always happy to help if needed. Again a wonderful stay at the Sailors Rest. We will be back next year!!

Brilliant house so clean and the detail that has gone into it is amazing.

There was 7 of us staying and we had so much room. Rooftop is amazing and we had stunning weather so it was perfect. Be aware there are alot of steps in the house it didn't matter to us though. Location is great and we had no issues getting parked for the 4 days. We will be back and i would highly recommend it to everyone.

Sailor’s Rest is an amazing property with everything supplied that you could possibly need.

Spacious - 7 of us in 5 bedrooms and had so much space with so many bathrooms. All the equipment supplied ie kitchen was plentiful and modern. The views are spectacular across Towan’s surfing beach. I’d say this the best location you could get directly above the harbour and amongst the shops and eating places. All activities on the doorstep such as coasteering, boat trips, surfing , paddle boarding. The harbour is quiet and calm enough for swimming and paddle boarding and the local seals can be spotted daily. Award winning eateries such as Herd, Rosa’s (mini golf). Fistral Beach and Lusty Glaze Beach within walkable distance. Parked up on nearby longstay and only used the car once to go to Eden Project (zip wiring). A small Sainsbury’s immediately to the rear was so handy we nipped in everyday but make sure you have a nectar card for savings. We adored Sailors Rest !

Absolutely loved sailors rest i booked this to celebrate my 70th birthday and couldn't have asked for more as it has five bedrooms brilliant living room and kitchen and the outside area with fab views over the harbour and beach were great, this property is only meters away from the beach and restaurants and pubs my family really enjoyed this place and I think we will be going back and made my 70th birthday brilliant.

Just the most lovely accommodations!

My 3 time, twice with friends and this time I took my family to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Clean, spacious and close to amenities and the beautiful Cornish beaches. Perfect.

This was our 4th stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay even though there was only 2 of us & our dog this time! The house is always clean & comfortable with good facilities throughout the home. The views are also fantastic! & the location is very local to the shops. Parking wasn’t a problem this time of year either, we managed to park right outside all week. Only negatives for us is we found the mattress seemed quite worn where it dips in the middle & Sadly the sofa looked quite stained on arrival & it generally feels a bit worn now. The owners are contactable if required & are always helpful. I’m sure we will be back again next year! Especially as we got to see the fireworks at the harbour from the living room window!!

Property is perfectly situated for the beach and other amenities.

Beds were very comfortable and all bedding and towels were of good quality. In terms of parking, we used the Belmont long stay which cost £14.80 for a week. As we were out of season, we had no problem getting a parking space upon our return after we had been out for the day. There are 3 flights of stairs inside the property, and an outside set of stairs to the property. My elderly Mum struggled a little bit but managed for the week. We had envisaged that she would sleep in the ground floor single room with en-suite but the en-suite only has a shower snd she was unable to do that as she needed to access toilet facilities in the night. Overall we had a very nice stay.

We generally loved our stay.

The house is gorgeous and well appointed. However we had huge issues with parking, despite previous reviews saying how easy it was for them. Two members of our party have mobility issues and we were led to believe the long stay carpark was a few minutes away. For these people, it was a 15 minute walk each time and we all had great difficulty entering and exiting the carpark. Despite having bought weekly permits, we had to press the help button each time to get the barrier raised. On two occasions there was no response meaning we had to buy tickets and then deal with the issue the following day. It was very stressful and we won't be returning for this reason.

Fantasy property excellently locate in Newquay.

Overlooking Towans beach and the harbour with amazing views across the coastline, the property is well located for all beaches in Newquay. It is a short walk to the town centre. The property itself was immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable. Well set up for exploring the beaches and water based activities the house has a small enclosed court yard for storing equipment and a utility/boot room for sandy shoes and clothes. All rooms are well sized with comfortable spacious beds. The most amazing part of the property for us was the terrace overlooking the beach and harbour which proved to be a popular place to unwind and share family meals. A real gem in Newquay. Cannot recommend highly enough. Will book again.

Absolutely amazing place, the apartment is huge ideal for big families like ours.

The facilities are amazing, local amenities. Sainsbury’s just over the road, restaurants within a minutes walk, amusements & beaches also. The view from the lounge is amazing, sea front beach view lovely to wake up too in a morning. would highly recommend looking forward to booking again for hopefully next year. The apartment has absolutely everything you’ll ever need in there, can cook meals with no problems with all the cookery in the kitchen, the terrace is great, amazing sea front views all day everyday especially in a morning watching the sunset.

This house is in an absolutely perfect location.

It's big, across 3 floors with lots of stairs. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need, we cooked a full roast dinner while we were there. The beds are comfy...mattress a little too soft for me but that's my preference. The views are outstanding and the roof terrace was well used while we were there. Check in and out was easy, parking not being at the house isn't an issue at all. Would definitely recommend to all. Lovely week! Thank you!

Fantastic family stay in this beautiful holiday home which was clean and comfy.

It's main draw is the beautiful view of the harbour and beach from the lounge, stairs, bathroom and main bedroom. We kept saying 'what a view!' The kitchen is extremely well equipped for cooking at home and the oven cooked a great birthday cake! The balcony is a great space for chilling with a morning coffee. The decor is creative and the home is very warm and comfortable; a real home from home. Great location for visiting Newquay and we couldn't have asked for more. From a very happy family who will be back.

We have just spent our 3rd stay at the Sailors Rest in Newquay & we will visit again as it suits our requirements as a family when we are away.

It’s comfortable, clean & homely. We really feel at home there & the views & location are perfect for us & what we like to do when on holiday. Only a couple of small bits I would like to see in the home which includes perhaps a shelf in the main bathroom to put wash bits on when having a bath & maybe some extra cleaning products such as antibacterial wipes & some bleach to keep toilets clean throughout the week. Other than that a lovely stay again.

My fourth stay at the sailors rest, and it won’t be my last.

There were eight of us this time, plenty of room for everyone. Perfect location for shops, beach, pubs everything. Lovely and clean. Already looking to book next year.

Our second stay at this beautiful house in a perfect spot in Newquay with gorgeous views.

Located at the Harbour end of town the house is a home from home with all amenities required and is close to numerous bars, restaurants, a choice of beaches within walkable distance and also has a supermarket across the street. The house has no parking but due to it being our second stay we were aware of the problem with parking in central Newquay so the family members who drove prebooked private spaces in the area (10 minute walk from the property) using the ‘Your parking space’ app which made the parking hassle free also as cars could be used but guaranteed the space upon return. Would stay again and would recommend this property.

This was our third year at Sailors Rest- it really feels like home from home for our family.

It’s a lovely, comfortable place with a large lounge, kitchen, diner perfect for socialising and hanging out together. Brilliant views and convenient location make it great for all age groups where you can enjoy a walk along all the beaches in the bay or pop to the shops, bars and restaurants equally easily. We hardly use our car and park a short walk away for the whole week (£15) so not having a parking space isn’t a problem for us. Not doubt I’ll be booking again for next year.

The apartment was lovely and spacious and the balcony made the stay even better, also stocked with enough cooking utensils etc to be able to cook & eat at the apartment when we wanted. The location is ideal as it's minutes away walking to the beach and very near to shops and restaraunts including a Sainsburys across the road. Couldn't have asked for a better place for a lovely weekend away. Thanks a lot.

Our stay at sailors rest was brilliant, we would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

I loved that you were able to provide us with a highchair and a travel cot, as this definitely helped us travel lighter. We came at a different time of year this time, so noticed a difference in the heat, so would say Summer is the best time to come. 2 of the front bedrooms facing the road had significant leaks when it rained.

The oven didn't work (just the light came on, didn't heat up) and one of the showers was unusable as you couldn't regulate the temperature. Only bringing this up so it can get fixed, the rest of the place was great and would definitely return.

We had a lovely stay for the 2nd time this year!

There were a few bits we noticed that we didn’t notice last time which were Some Mould in en suite & main bathroom The Temperature still not working in main shower so couldn’t use it which was disappointing & my daughter was scolded! Which wasn’t good.. the last time we stayed in May we couldn’t use it either as there was a leak I believe? The carpets could do with a clean The tumble dryer takes like an hour and a half if not longer to dry anything which was a pain as it’s a cold time of year Blind in en suite bedroom has some holes in it Kitchen one the hem has come down & lastly the Mattress’s in the single beds were not very comfortable & looked worn. ( but the double ones are amazing!) Generally just looks like it could do with a freshen up after a busy year! They were not a major inconvenience to us as we had a wonderful stay again and would love to book again for next year..the location for us is spot on which is why we came back and generally a really lovely house to stay in feels very homely and we love the layout! Roof terrace has the best views Over the sea! Parking wasn’t a problem as out of season so literally was just down the road a little. Sad to go home but would like to see the minor bits sorted and the shower at a reasonable temperature for next time! We will book again for sure

Property quirky with lots of thought going into making it a fab place to stay. All adult party and our dog. Loved everything about it from the roof top terrace to the dog basket at the entrance with safety gate. Fair amount of stairs but kept us fit. Parking not a real problem as two car parks nearby that are 24 hours. Would definitely stay again

I had never stayed in the Newquay area before and really enjoyed our stay.

I was concerned about the property when I saw it from the outside and had not realised it was above a shop. Once inside we were very pleased in the high standard of cleanliness and comfort. I would suggest you make it clearer that it is placed above a shop and can be very busy in the area. However, we enjoyed it and would recommend people to stay here if they can cope with so many stairs! Thank you

This property has no ground floor accommodation unlike the listing and no patio area!

Under no circumstances book this property of you have young children or you are not firm on your feet. You have to go up 2 external flights of stairs to get to the front door, so if you have a child’s buggy or a wheelchair it’s borderline impossible. It’s not Ground floor, 1 and 2, it starts on level 2 and goes to 3 and 4. Oven broken, shower does have an temperature control amongst other issues, reported to Sykes and the Landlord and they are doing their best to deny responsibility and ignore us. They tried to say the listing states external steps and over 3 floors, it’s does, but it also says ground floor accommodation and patio suggesting there are 1 or 2 steps not entire flights of narrow metals stairs, as far as I am concerned it’s misleading. When they say no parking they are no kidding either, you cannot park long term within 4-500 metres of the property and you have to block the harbour road to get close to the property to park to unload your vehicle. Would never book again and would highly recommend not staying here unless you are a group of adults! As far as I am concerned it’s a avoid. That’s both the landlord and Sykes I wouldn’t use again.

This is our second stay at Sailors Rest and enjoyed it every bit as much as the previous year.

The location is excellent with beaches, shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The spacious kitchen and living spaces make for some very social meals times and the terrace is a great place to hang out on nice days/evenings. I'll love my morning cuppa sat on the terrace looking out to sea and watching the sun come up (on some days !). There's comfy beds and plenty of bathroom space too. The property is well managed, always cleaned thoroughly and offers great value for money. Although there's no onsite parking there are several options nearby and as many things are within walking distance we didn't need to use the car much at all. Have re-booked for next year- cant wait.

Just returned from spending a week at sailors rest.

We all had an amazing holiday. Perfect location. The property lived up to expectations. Very well equipped kitchen, large living area, extremely comfortable beds. The view from the balcony is amazing!! The only down side, as mentioned in other reviews, is the lack of parking. We did find a safe car park a few minutes walk away so it wasn’t a major issue. Would highly recommend.

. was so homely & comfortable and just had a really nice feel about it.. views were amazing from the bedroom and also the terrace on the 3rd floor.. really good location and parking wasn’t a problem at all really especially out of season. Had everything we needed for our stay. Was so sad to go!! We will be back 100%

A lovely property, spacious and tastefully decorated.

It was so close to the town, beach and attractions so great for younger children. The welcome shortbread and teas and coffees etc were very thoughtful and it was great that there was handwash and tea towels etc provided too. Lovely touches which we so often forget to bring with us. Thanks for a lovely stay and we hope to visit again one day.

We loved this property.

We've been to Newquay a lot of times, and this is definitely the best property we've stayed in. The location is amazing, with spectacular views over the bay, and very convenient for the shops and restaurants in the town centre. The house was modern, clean and inviting, and most importantly very comfortable. The only downside was the lack of on-site parking, which meant having to pay extra for the nearby long stay car park, but that's understandable given the location. We'll definitely be back.

Very comfy, great location and local to everything. Big recommendation. Would love to come back. Only thing was the steps leading up to the front door. Could be a real issue in the wet with anybody with any mobility issues. Could be emphasised in pre booking information.

We and our four boys had a fabulous time at Sailors Rest.

We were very pleasantly surprised how this beautiful house looked and also by the amenities it offered. It was truly a home from home in a perfect location with the most stunning views of the sea to wake up to each morning. The only negative, if we were to find one would be the fact that it doesnt have its own parking. This, however didnt pose a problem to us as we parked the car on a side street not too far away and we hardly had to use the car for the rest of the week. We would definitely come back again (maybe in the summer) and highly recommend this property, Thank you so much. Rob, Amanda and boys.

A real home from home stay. Very comfy beds. The house was perfect, did not have to move the car once. Would definitely return, and recommend to family and friends. To sum it up PERFECT. We stay in at least 4 cottages a year, and this was one of the best.

A great place to spend an out of season weekend in Newquay.

Clean, comfortable, accessible (Sainsburys, Towan Beach, town), an incredible view, great showers, storage for boards (it would be great if the external door could be locked)...the list goes on. I hope we find an excuse to visit again in the not too distant future.

We had an absolutely amazing holiday the property was all we could of hoped for and more being so close to the beach and other amenities was great .

We would of booked again next year but unfortunately the price increase of nearly £2000 I could not justify other than that it was a great place

The town house was amazing, it exceeded all our expectations.

It was quirky and modern yet so comfortable for all the family, the views are unbelievable. We never had to get in the car once as it is a perfect location to visit all the local beaches on foot.

The property was more than adequate for a big family and a dog, the sea views were amazing, Everything is right on your doorstep, we found the space more than enough for us all, wouldn’t hesitate to book again, my only little complaint would be the steps outside going up to the property, very steep and could be slippy, my dog struggled to get up them.. maybe some strips of artificial grass would make them safer. Overall best place we have stayed so far!!

The weather wasn't that great but it didn't spoil our stay.

The house has amazing views, even through the rain! It is in the centre of Newquay do we had easy access to everything. Sailors Rest had everything and more that we needed. It was comfortable and welcoming. We would all stay there again.

The Sailors Rest is one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed in.

Perfect location (easy to find long stay parking) The house delivers far above what the photos show. Vicky was super helpful, even letting us check in a bit earlier. Can’t wait to stay again.

I'm not sure the amount of steps to get into the property is mentioned.

My Mum would have struggled if she'd of had to have done it more than once a day. Property itself is lovely and the upside down style makes full use of the gorgeous views. Outside tap was a bonus for the kids paddleboards. One thing that would have been useful to have is some plastic cups/plates for our younger children. Everytime they used a glass I panicked that they were going to smash it. We had a very lovely time at Sailors rest!

The location is perfect and the accommodation was so comfortable, just what we needed for a relaxing family break. It was all incredibly clean and really felt like a home from home with spacious rooms and beautiful sea views. We really didn't want to leave! The house had everything we needed, it was warm, clean, spacious and comfortable.

So close to the coastal path and the beach and although it's in a busy part of town as soon as you shut the door to the yard you felt like you were away from the hustle and bustle . The balcony and the view are sublime and make all the difference.

We recently stayed at the sailors Inn and was not disappointed.

All rooms and facilities were left clean, the views from the balcony were stunning and it was only a 2 min walk from Sainsburys which was very convenient! I will definitely recommend it to family and friends and would stay at Sailors Rest again!

Fantastic location and property.

If I wanted to be very picky... the dishwasher was glitchy and ideally plastic cups for outside.Also the plug did not work in the en-suite. But we had a lovely time and thanks to the owners.

We’ve just spent a lovely week at Sailor’s Rest.

The accommodation itself is just brilliant for a family beach holiday. As you come in there is a small but secure outside area with a hose to clean off your sandy feet and big enough for us to store 2 sit on kayaks and a surf board. Go into the property and you are in a utility area where you can pull off wetsuits etc to avoid taking mess into the apartment. Bedrooms are large and airy but the real feature is the top floor where there Is a good sized kitchen diner and a lovely sunny roof terrace with views of Towan Beach and the harbour. Position wise it’s perfect. Slap bang in the middle of town. It’s 3 minutes walk to the harbour and Towan beach which is a good family beach and 10 minutes to Fistral Beach. Right opposite there is a Sainsbury’s so It’s easy to pop across to get any shopping.

Arrival instructions - would have saved us 5 loops of the crowded 1 way system if we were told you had to turn off Fore St to find no 51a.

The 2 double beds are described as Kingsize but are definitely smaller than that. The fridge is too small for a property for 8 people. Everything else was wonderful, loved the location and the interior design.

We are just home from a week at Sailors Rest and we had the most amazing time.

The location is perfect with just a short walk to the harbour and the beautiful sandy beach. Sailors Rest itself is just the perfect Cornish holiday house. The views are breathtaking. Travelling as a family of 7, I was a little apprehensive about the fact that there was no parking at the property, but the nearest long stay carpark is a three minute walk up the road and I was easily able to purchase a weekly ticket. Thank you to Vicky, who couldn’t have been more helpful in the run up to our holiday. Sailors Rest was all we imagined it would be and more. We hope to stay again in the not too distant future.

Lovely place done out lovely decor everything needed was there could do with checking out later maybe 11 due to parking and finding somewhere to park also cleaner turned up dead on 10 which was not nice spolit it but would go back again

I can’t recommend it enough - from the Sykes cottage service to the excellent property and location. If you’re a family or a large group of friends looking for somewhere chilled and relaxing to call home for a week this is the place for you. With beautiful views down to the harbour, and easy access to the beach and bars to a lovely, light kitchen and living space to entertain and enjoy your time away this place has it all. Booked again for next year !!

When we got there the first thing i noticed was how clean the house was.

and comfortable.and they cater for all your needs.everything you need is there including wi-fi which was a bonus.nice touch leaving us tea bags and milk after a long drive to get there.cant beat a nice cup of tea.in all we were very happy with this place as the views were beautiful as well as the house itself.i would gladly tell other people about this house and recomend it to others.10 out 10 in my book.would return again and again.

Sailors Rest is a wonderful holiday home, it had everything we could have needed and more!

The beds were all really comfortable and the decor was lovely . The position of the property is perfect for everything! Once we’d worked out the parking that wasn’t even a problem. We got a Tesco delivery but didn’t need bother as Sainsbury’s was right opposite.I would definitely recommend Sailors Rest if you are looking for a perfect family holiday in Newquay .

Really wonderful place to stay.

Brilliantly comfortable beds, lovely layout and dog friendly which was really important to us. Parking may be an issue for those who choose to stay here - research carefully. We were ok because we were out and about during the day. Beautiful sea views from the balcony. Perfect place to have a morning coffee!

We expected a cool holiday home with excellent views over the harbour and that is exactly what we got.

This holiday home is located above a corner shop conveniently located close to the centre of newquay and also an easy walk to Fistral beach. Fabulously thought out interior design,great roof terrace overlooking the sea and a fully equipped kitchen plus very comfortable beds make for a great holiday base. Would definitely stay here again

We had a lovely time at the Sailors Rest, it is a lovely big comfortable house.

There is absolutely nothing we would complain about, on the couple of times we contacted the owner he couldn’t have been more helpful. This house had everything we could possibly ask for, it even had a large dog bed, dog bowls and outside shower to wash away the sand. The location of the Sailors Rest is perfect for the beautiful sandy beaches, it was lovely having a glass of wine on the roof top terrace watching the surfers. Its an easy stroll into the town, although we had most of our evening meals in either The Fort or The Red Lion which is right on the doorstep. We would definitely give The Sailors Rest five stars.
