Absolutely wonderful accommodation, the listing does not do it justice.
The house is huge and well maintained, with all the facilities you could hope for. The grounds are massive and well maintained. We are already looking to book again for next year.
Temple House is an amazingly well-equipped family house with plenty of room to be together or to find your own private space.
There is a huge garden, complete with orchard and summerhouse and a shed with lots of games and equipment to borrow, including body boards. There is a barbeque but unfortunately it had not been cleaned by the previous users and was out of gas so we had to cook indoors. I think there is a mistake in the description because it says the upper bedroom “also boasts an office space and direct access out to the balcony with dining table and chairs” which is not the case. The upper bedroom does not have a door or any hanging space although there is plenty of drawer space and we draped things over the stair rail which gave us a bit more privacy. It would have been useful to know that in advance though. Personally, I found the upper staircase quite challenging, it really needs a middle handrail like the lower staircase. We were surprised to find there was no mattress protector on the bed, just a sheet directly on the mattress. The upper ensuite is lovely, lots of space to put things and a really well-designed shower. We were taken by surprise one evening when a large fluffy cat came strolling down the stairs! There appears to be a cat tunnel into the kitchen. This wasn’t a problem for us but if you have allergies or had a young baby asleep upstairs it would be more concerning. On the subject of young babies, our details said there was no travel cot available but there appeared to be one in the utility room. We were also advised that we needed to take our own tea-towels but there were plenty provided.
We only stayed for 2 nights but with if a longer holiday was booked you wouldn’t feel cramped due to the size of the property, nothing missing home from home.
