“The cottage was spotless and we thorougly enjoyed our week.”

The cottage was well equipped. It was very quiet, there were plenty of opportunities to walk from there and the coastal path was easy to access. Parking was easy and the internet worked throughout our stay. We used the Aga several times for basic meals. All in all coupled with the 7 days of beautiful weather it was a great week for us and our Yorkshire Terrier. Thank you

The property

4 Mowhay Cottages is located only half a mile along the adjoining footpath to the pretty fishing village of Gorran Haven, ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area.

Bring along all the family to make the most of this characterful retreat, a home away from home, on the South Coast of Cornwall.

Passing through the enclosed front garden you enter onto the first floor, here you will discover three bedrooms including a double, a bunk room, and a single, all tied together by a delightful bathroom.

Continue to the lower level which begins with a cosy sitting room, elevated by an open fire for those chilly evenings, whilst the kitchen/diner features a warming AGA.

A separate entrance from the shared courtyard garden provides direct access to the ground floor making it ideal for dog walkers.

Within walking distance are a number of more isolated beaches and the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands.

From its gorse-covered heights there are views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east.

Alternatively, you may wish to walk the coastal path to the harbour village of Mevagissey.

Near Gorran Haven, in a beautiful setting of woodland, stream and pasture, is Caerhays Castle.

Eden Project, Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and the cathedral town of Truro are not to be forgotten.

4 Mowhay Cottages is the perfect retreat to build some memories.

About the location

GORRAN HAVEN

Mevagissey 3 miles.

Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach set behind a traditional sea wall, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide and is popular with families. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is readily accessible from the South West Coast Path that passes through Gorran Haven. Within walking distance are a number of more isolated beaches and the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck. From its gorse-covered heights there are views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east. Alternatively, you may wish to walk the coastal path to the harbour village of Mevagissey. Near Gorran Haven, in a beautiful setting of woodland, stream and pasture, is Caerhays Castle, an informal 60-acre garden on the coast near Porthluney Cove. Nearby attractions are the wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and the cathedral town of Truro, with an excellent range of quality shopping and dining.
