Frank “Another great week spent here, always well looked after by Howard and family.”

Terry “Stayed here four years ago always intended to comeback, loved the accommodation, very helpful and friendly owners.”
Great place to be based to visit many area’s of Cornwall. Hope to come again one day.

Ian “The cottage was lovely and clean, and I would recommend staying there.”
The views are fantastic and there is a lot to do locally. Really appreciated there being milk, tea and coffee on arrival. There is good internet access, and the facilities are very good. There is a 24/7 dairy shop in the near be village of Saint Newly East, which was brilliant. 24/7 cake, ice cream, milkshakes, tea and coffee! 15 - 30 mins from great beaches and only a few minutes from the A30. I have a disability and although there was a frame for the toilet, I would recommend there is a toilet seat riser. The shower is a walking in shower and there was a shower stool available, which was great, but a grab rail would be good. Also, a grab rail at the door to the field would be recommended. The doors are nice a wide which is really good for wheelchair users.
- Ian, July 2024 -
Frank “Excellent property and surrounding area, everything that we could want was included with descent wi-fi at no extra cost.”

David “We had an excellent stay.”
It was a very clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage. Nice and peaceful but easy access to many areas in Cornwall.
- David, June 2024 -
Carol “Wheal Kitty is well located to visit either coast.”
It is spacious for two but may feel cramped in the lounge area for four. We didn’t find the sofa very comfortable but that’s personal choice. It has a usual but comfortable four poster bed and a wet room accessible to all. Great parking, location and views.
- Carol, June 2024 -
Rose-marie “Lovely place.”
Howard is a great host.
- Rose-marie, May 2024 -
John “We booked for 2 weeks but stayed for 3.”
Wheal Kitty was excellent. Parking was easy, the cottage was clean and just the right size for 2 of us. The shower was also very easy and accessible. It was a central location for all parts of Cornwall, although some of the country lanes are a bit scary. We would definitely stay again.
- John, March 2024 -
Manoj “Very nice cottage with absolutely beautiful view at the back yard.”
Very calm and quiet and we loved every moment of staying in. Reasonable travel time to all the attractions and shops. Would definitely recommend holiday makers for a beautiful stay.
- Manoj, August 2023 -
Dean “Great stay….”
.this is our second time here (2 years running) great location with plenty to do for a young family around.
- Dean, July 2023 -
Kim “The setting for the cottage was great, looking out over the country side and woods below.”
We had lovely weather so were able to sit outside and enjoy the view whilst we ate. We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts.
- Kim, June 2023 -
Paul “We found the accommodation to be very comfortable and the location is extremely peaceful and it is pleasant to sit out in the evening although no chairs are provided, only a picnic bench.”
There are adjoining holiday properties so noise levels could depend on who is staying next door but sound insulation between the properties is excellent. Minor drawbacks are that freezer and general storage space in the kitchen is rather limited (we mainly self cater). Also there is no external washing line or dryer for items which are unsuitable for putting in the washer/dryer such as swimwear and wet suits. We were unable to find instructions for the tv, washing machine, cooker, microwave etc. Also we found some of the crockery and utensils were not clean on this occasion. There is an imbalance in size between the bedrooms so the property is probably best suited to a couple with children, or just three adults. The owners live on site and are friendly and approachable and would I am sure sort out any major issues. We have now stayed three times and would recommend this property so long as you are prepared for a short drive down the country lanes to access it.
- Paul, June 2023 -

Caroline “Loved the cottage.”
Beautifully presented and had everything we needed. Owners were friendly, but not intrusive. We loved : easy parking, beautiful master bedroom, nice twin room, lovely clean kitchen, cosy sitting room. Beautiful views. Only a few minutes away from some lovely beaches and a do not miss National Trust House. We loved it. We just wish we could come again with our small dog. A lovely cottage, great for those who need accessible accommodation too.

Claire “We had a 6 night stay at Wheal Kitty and it was absolutely fabulous!”
The location is fantastic with extensive views of rolling countryside and very peaceful. The property itself is so nicely done with lovely features and is very well equipped. The master bed was so comfy! Owners very friendly and it’s easy driving distance to the whole of Cornwall. We shall return!
- Claire, September 2021 -
Elaine “The cottage was pleasant, had a beautiful view.”
It was clean and had everything you would need. Just one thing that could be changed was the 2 single beds were way too soft. Perhaps these need to be replaced to firmer ones. Other than that, everything was great, owners were friendly.
- Elaine, August 2021 -
Walter “A wonderful place to stay in comfort and rural tranquility with short drive access to coastal walks and beaches and other holiday facilities.”
- Walter, June 2021 -

Josey “We were thrilled with our stay at Wheal Kitty.”
We were looking for a reasonably priced, out of season holiday, and Wheal Kitty is worth every penny. The cottage is in an idyllic, rural setting in the centre of Cornwall, which makes accessing popular tourist attractions easy. We were especially pleased by the well-equipped kitchen, which allowed us to eat a variety of meals without paying through the nose at restaurants every night. The cottage was warm and inviting; it was like a home away from home. Our hosts, Ann and Howard Farmer, are clearly attentive and made sure we were comfortable and welcome. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that we are all looking forward to our next stay at Wheal Kitty. I will also be recommending it to any of my acquaintances who are considering a holiday in Cornwall.
- Josey, February 2020 -
Sarah “Quiet and peaceful location, excellent accommodation that met all our needs.”
Requested cot and highchair for baby, provided with full size cot and bedding too, also offered baby bath. Well stocked with good quality kitchen equipment. Tea, milk and sugar etc provided which was fantastic to have a cuppa on arrival. Facilities were excellent. Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Would highly recommend, and would return.

Milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine on arrival was very nice, and all amenities was catered for, including a huge field for the kids to play in outside the back door. The secluded location was peaceful and enjoyable, and yet central and easy to access all the surrounding areas we planned to visit. Definitely recommend. Enjoy.

It was situated in a very quiet location off the beaten track but central for lots of Cornwalls tourist destimations and beaches. The owners met us on arrival to answer any queries and although they were near if we needed them our visit to the cottage was very private. The online booking, key collection etc was hassle free. Very pleased with our choice of Sykes, Cornwall and Wheal Kitty.
