“What a wonderful house, in a great location.”

The house had everything we needed for our short stay and was very spacious and comfortable for our party of 7. Gweek is a very pretty little village and the local store is a real gem. The location is perfect for exploring the Lizard Peninsular and beyond. We would love to return one day. Best wishes, Ian and Tina

The property

In the pretty village of Gweek, at the head of the Helford River in Cornwall is fabulous Gweek House; a four-bedroom Victorian house, ideal for a family of eight or a group of friends.

Sitting in 1.5 acres of private rural gardens and lush woodland, peaceful seclusion and dark skies can both be found abundance.

The perfect base from which to explore both the stunning coast and countryside of Cornwall, Gweek House is a spacious, elegant home from home.

In the contemporary kitchen you’ll find everything you need to prepare delicious meals which can be enjoyed at the formal dining table.

Here the woodburning stove paints a cosy backdrop to a sociable evening spent recounting your day.

The sitting room is a wonderful, open space in which to relax.

Large bay windows fill the room with light, whilst a second woodburning stove ensures the room is warm and inviting at any time of year.

For a quiet moment away from the group, you'll find the sunroom with its triple aspect and long views over the garden is the perfect spot for relaxing after a busy day of adventure.

When sleep calls, retire to one of four bedrooms, all completed with elegant furnishings and plush beds.

A king-size with en-suite, a further king-size, a double and a twin room offer ultimate flexibility, all within proximity to the pristine bathroom.

As you wake to the sound of birdsong, head outside to enjoy morning coffee looking over the luscious lawn and lofty trees.

There are plenty of seating areas to choose from; here you can dine alfresco or simply spend time as a family throughout your stay.

Head into the village of Gweek for all the essentials, where you'll find a convenience store, a welcoming pub, and a little café within the boatyard.

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is within walking distance and well worth a visit.

Also nearby are the Museum of Cornish Life, and of course the glorious Helford River with its waterborne pursuits.

Further afield, enjoy tours of the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, discover Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII in 1540, or relax upon on of the many Blue Flag beaches for which Cornwall is renowned.

Reaching Lizard, the most southerly point of the British mainland, visit Housel Bay Beach, enjoy the elevated vantage point of Pistil Meadow, head towards Lizard Lighthouse, or explore The Lizard Heritage Coast by foot, taking in your coastal abode.

With much to see nearby, you’re assured of a memorable holiday at Gweek House.
