This is our 4th time at the properties.

It is a wonderful exclusive getaway, the facilities and location are super for walking with no crouds! The pool is as lovely as ever and v well maintained. A few niggles, the main one, which i dont think can be changed, the squeeky floors upstairs, they are v v loud. The external doors need v firm handling to shut them and the key safe is getting a little " sticky" A lovely break

We love Hellsbury Park and things were great.

The only thing that was missing was some towels and it wasn#t clear if they should have been included or not and led us to have to buy bath towels for the duration of our stay.

We have been coming to Helsbury Park for some 20 years, the properties are outstanding and there are always little changes for the better.

What a view!

I could sit and look at it all day. The cottage is lovely. Has everything you need, very comfortable and completely dog friendly. Spotlessly clean and a credit to the maintenance team. Considering the age and type of building (2 foot thick walls), maintenance must be a real challenge. A few creaky floor boards are to be expected and adds to the character. The swimming pool is stunning, overlooking that view with plenty of showers and toilets, a steam room (you need 5 x £1 coins to use this for an hour, which is plenty of time - take coins with you as we found it hard to get change from the local shops) and a gym. We had the pool facilities to ourselves as the second cottage residents didn’t seem to use it! So we swam every day. We couldn’t find the billiards table but had balls and cues. Then realised that the dining table doubles as a billiards table, you just take the table top off. There is a ping pong table in the games room so plenty to keep you entertained. Marhayes has a secure garden to the rear that is covered in stone chippings. The grounds are meticulously maintained and beautiful. The dogs can go anywhere so lots of walks right on your doorstep. Be aware that the grounds slope down to the river so coming back up might be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. Exploring the grounds we found sculpted seats to sit on and watch the river babble by, a bird hide, little bridge over the river (a trolls bridge according to my grandson). Dogs had a whale of a time and were exhausted every day. You will need a car as the property is not within walking distance of shops etc. It’s around 40 minutes to Padstow or Bude areas. Small food shops in Camelford 10 mins away but for more choice we tended to go to Tesco in Weybridge 10 mins further down the A39.. Sue is the head housekeeper and is absolutely lovely. Sue also offers a casual dog sitting service. So if you fancy a day or night out without the pooches, give her a call. Her details can be found in the cottage. Such a relaxing holiday! We loved it so much we have booked again for next year.

This is our third visit to Helsbury park and we had a lovely time and were blessed with a week of beautiful weather too!

This is the second time we have stayed at Marhayes - it is simply an outstanding place to stay - for us (five adults) and three dogs.

Marhayes is pristine - everything absolutely immaculate (thank you Sue and your team). We enjoyed many hours of playing pool (the kitchen dining table converts into a pool table). Table Tennis is in the building next door. The indoor swimming pool is huge and as it is only shared with the other holiday cottage, generally you have this completely to yourselves. The extensive grounds with rolling fields, woodland and babbling brook was simply heaven for our dogs. This is an outstanding holiday cottage with exceptional swimming pool facilities, located close to gorgeous dog friendly beaches (Polzeath, Daymer). We will return - it is 10/10.

We were delighted with the whole experience.

The house was luxurious, had everything you needed and provided lots more. Setting was amazing and loads of places to walk the dogs. The pool and gym facilities were perfect . Will definitely be back. Thank you

Beautiful farmhouse and absolutely the best dog friendly accomodation we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot.

If their is perfection in this world this is it. The owners have thought of everything in the farmhouse you are not wanting for anything. Beds are comfy the showers are great and the house is lovely and warm including use of the wood burner which is fantastic. The dogs loved the extensive grounds to walk in and so did we and the swimming pool was absolutely incredible. We really cannot put into words properly how fantastic Marhayes is and we will be talking about this holiday for a long time to come.

Wonderful to be at Helsbury again.

Whole experience is unmatched …and our Airedales agree! We come every year and have been over the last 10 years . Marhayes layout works for us, great views . Grounds immaculate, as always. Sue and team do a brilliant job in turning the cottages around between lets. Not surprised availability is scarce.

Lovely cottage and location.

There was everything we needed. The pool was an added treat. All the dogs and their owners had a fantastic time. Thank you.

Only criticism is the sofas could do with updating.

They were the same ones that were there last time we visited, (about 10 yrs ago ) albeit they have loose covers on and perhaps better towels. All that said beautiful location, very relaxing environment. Very clean, housekeeping do an amazing job. Our weather wasn’t great but the barn is very warm and cosy. Everything you need is there. Great for the dogs who loved their stay and it’s very safe too plus lots of doggy friendly places to visit.

We all had the most amazing holiday. The property is beautifully furnished and everything you need is available. We explored the walks on site and enjoyed watching the dogs have the time of their life. The location is ideal for exploring Cornwall and we also had some lovely afternoons enjoying the pool & sauna. To find somewhere that is truly dog friendly rather than dog tolerant is perfect - it’s all about them really isn’t it

Another fabulous week at Helsbury despite the heavy rain, we really enjoyed our stay again.

A few of the windows had very noticeable leaks and rain water coming through which required our attention, although it didn’t ruin our holiday and we will be back again.

We had an amazing week in the cottage beautiful setting very very comfortable it had everything you needed beautifully furnished we would very highly recommend and definitely stay again

I have been coming to Helsbury Park with my children since my eldest dog was 1 & she is 14 now.

All 4 dogs love it - it’s home from home. We’ve been probably 15/16 times over the years in all of the properties. Now we need both cottages to accommodate a growing family & the 4 grandchildren love it just as much as us & the dogs. We’ve even had our daughters wedding here. It truly is a unique & special place. The properties are always maintained to a high standard with improvements each year. It’s worth every penny with the swimming pool & land. I only wish it wasn’t as popular as now we are restricted to school holidays!!! Thank you for an amazing week again.

Absolutely fabulous a dogs paradise

We had a really lovely stay at Marhayes and the facilities were incredible.

The pool complex was stunning and we all loved spending time in there, particularly the kids. The house was also lovely and spacious with stunning views of the countryside. The only slight complaint was that we found the beds not to be particularly comfortable and also the shower was not draining in the master bedroom, but we solved this ourselves with some plughole unblocker.

The property was first class.

The swimming pool, sauna and gym were excellent. Lovely walks with our three dogs across the fields. It might be worth considering having a clock in the swimming pool facility. Also worth considering advertising the availability of fishing in the river (if this is the case). We intend to return.

We had a fantastic time.

Parents with grown up children and their partners. We played card games cooked and ate togeather and enjoyed the pool and facilities it was an amazing break staying altogeather

It would have been nice to have a folder with information about surrounding areas and places to go.

TV had Netflix and prime video but no information about passwords needed., Other than that we all had a great time in this excellent property

Booked for next year on the way home… so definitely impressed!

This is the 5th time I have stayed at Marhayes in recent years and each time I have stayed it has been an absolutely relaxing, fun family/friends time.

The attention to detail and the needs of our stay is catered for right down to the smallest detail. The cottage is exceptionally clean, comfortable and spacious to accommodate everyone. The view is breathtaking, and you are able to walk the view that you can see, amazing. There is a large swimming pool which, as you are swimming you can see the same view as you do from the house!! A small gym, sauna and showers, caters for everyone and a lot of fun. I cannot recommend this holiday/cottage enough, definitely a great time and I am looking to book again within the next 8 months, can’t wait!, 100 % recommendation from me

Marhayes is a wonderful holiday cottage.

Outstanding facilities, immaculately clean interior, along with with crisp white sheets and fluffy towels (thank you to Sue and the Housekeeping team, they clearly have very high standards). We had a lovely family holiday playing pool in the kitchen (the dining room table converts into a pool table), table tennis was just a stroll to the building next door. The grounds of Marhayes are beyond a dog's dream environment. Woodland to walk through, acres and acres of open fields to bound around and the icing on the cake for our Labradors/Gold Retriever, the babbling brook that runs through the grounds. Joyous to see them paddling/swimming - a beautiful sight to see. Herons on the lake greeted us each morning and the general sound of bird song (and mooing of the mischievous young cows in the adjacent field), all made for a wonderful setting. Walking around the edges of the boundaries does take about an hour, but you can meander in all directions, so the walk can be as long as you want it to be. The large indoor pool, mini gym and sauna were all thoroughly enjoyed. We had the whole facility to ourselves every time (even though shared with the holiday cottage next door there was always plenty of opportunity to go there, when next door was doing something else). It worked well. There were a couple of snagging issues during our stay - the dishwasher broke, but a new one was installed within two days. The enclosed garden at the rear was not enclosed, but this will no doubt be remedied shortly with some new fencing. We enjoyed exploring Polzeath and Widemouth beaches with our four dogs. Cardinham Woods (Forestry England) nearby was lovely with plenty of well marked walks to choose from - it even had a professional self-serve dog wash facility in the car park (£7.00 for a full shampoo, condition and blow-dry!). All in all an outstanding holiday cottage. A dog's dream location with 100 acres of land to roam freely. Peace and quiet - nature surrounding you and stunning views to wake up to. Fantastic facilities and an immaculately clean holiday cottage - down to the glasses and cutlery sparkling! If you and your dog(s) want to have a holiday together, in luxury, this is the place to book!

Without doubt the best place we’ve stayed at over the years, this place is a gem of Cornwall, the cottage (Marhayes) had everything we needed 3 lovely bedrooms all en-suite, a view to die for our four dogs was doggie heaven with extensive grounds to let them run free.

. Musnt forget the pool which is outstanding like the rest of the place, thank you we will definitely be back !

We were so happy with the accommodation at Marhayes!

What a lovely stay we had. The grounds and the views were just so unreal and immaculately kept. The house was so well equipped! All you would need to do is a food shop and you are sorted for your stay! We struggled to find accommodation that would allow more than 2 dogs. We took 5 dogs with us and they loved it too! Plenty of walking space and great that there is a little enclosed area for them to use. The only little thing that could have made our time better - you aren't allowed to leave dogs in the house and they are also not allowed down near the pool area, so it makes it quite difficult if all your guests want to pop down and use the pool facilities at the same time. But we made it work and would 100 percent come back! Thank you for our stay

Marhayes is beautiful but would benefit from better outdoor dining facilities - the ones at the front of the property are poor and there are none at the back.

It would be lovely to be able to eat alfresco on warm evenings.

We absolutely loved our stay at Marhayes, as did our four dogs.

The property itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. The underfloor heating meant we were warm and cosy, we loved the open plan design, the en-suite bathrooms and it was so handy having the bath downstairs near to the door so we could shower the dogs down after a trip to the beach. The swimming pool was amazing - clean, modern and bigger than we expected with wonderful views overlooking the properties 100 acres of land. We had the pool entirely to ourselves on the day we used it! The best part of this property however has to be the amazing land it sits on. Pastures, fields, woodland, hills, a stream and a small lake - this property has it all. Our dogs loved it and we spent one whole day of our holiday just walking on the property’s land (a 3 hour walk our dogs were completely exhausted after!) Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will absolutely return and miss it already!

First time we have taken our dogs on holiday but no need to worry everything is covered for dogs .

The place was immaculate and it’s easy to see why a cleaning crew descended as we left and wasted no time in getting on with the job. Perfect for all our needs and a view to die for.

We have just spent a fabulous week at Marhayes, 6 adults and 4 dogs.

We found Marhayes very clean on the day we arrived and the beds really comfortable. (taps on the kitchen sink were a surprise as they turn the opposite way to all the other taps in the house) The surrounding fields and woodland were great for walking the dogs especially first thing in the morning they loved it. The location, couldn't fault it, it's an ideal base for venturing out to some well known places, most of which can be reached in 30 to 40mins but please be aware that carparks fill very quick and early as we found on a couple of occasions. As a group we will hopefully go back and we would recommend it to anyone. PS We can recommend the fish and chips from Camelford

What an amazing week!

This was our third holiday at helsburry park and we always have the best time, with so much nature to enjoy we hardly left the site. We relished in the much needed family time with our three children and can’t wait to return again next year!

The main reason for 'Exceeded Expectations' is for our 4 Border Collie dogs this property provides the best dog walking area we have ever encountered, over 100 acres of beautiful cornish countryside with a stream for them to cool down in with a beautiful forest to walk through.

My wife scored the dog walking 15 out of 10?? and named part of the dog walk as in an 'enchanted forest' The Holiday cottage was as expected and with the addition of a swimming pool which my daughter enjoyed all made for a great holiday break.

Brilliant stay, the property is great and the grounds are wonderful - the grounds definitely made it that bit extra special!

One rather big issue we had, which we can’t blame the owners for, were the guests staying in the property next to ours. There are three properties on the grounds, all let out and all share the communal areas & pool. The family staying next to us left a big sour taste to our stay due to their dogs and children - dogs fowling within communal areas and owners not clearing, said dogs entering our property one day when we opened the door and their children knocking on the door and windows every day! That aside, I would love to stay here again .. hopefully the neighbours next time will be more pleasant!!! :)

It’s a wonderful location, great facilities for adults, children and unlimited dogs.

Well equipped and very comfortable. We spent Christmas there and had friends staying in the adjacent cottage.

My friends and I had an amazing holiday break, there was something for everyone entertainment wise, the amenities were superb.

The swimming pool was enormous fun, followed by a sauna for deep relaxation, whilst looking over the gorgeous Moor views. The cottage was comfortable and spacious. Plenty of room for everyone to prepare or help with meals and a log fire to die for, my favourite every time, 100% recommendation, my third visit this year!

The best and most relaxing holiday I’ve ever had in Britain.

Everything was catered for, comfort and heating was first class, it’s been a wet and cold weekend but it didn’t bother any of us because of the quality of accommodation. Came straight back and have booked another visit the very next day for later in the this year. Thoroughly recommend.

Second visit excellent facilities.

The sofas could do with upgrading in the living area to more ergonomically comfortably. Taking 4 elderly relatives they found it difficult to get up from them or get comfortable in them. Beds and sofas upstairs are really comfortable. Pool and grounds fantastic. Lovely peaceful location away from all the crowds. WiFi in the house would be great if possible. **Thank you so much for spending time out of your day to leave us feedback. And I am glad that you have enjoyed your stay at Marhayes. We are pleased to say we have now replaced the sofas in the property.**

Everything, it is the third time we have stayed here as a family holiday and would not change a thing.

It is a shame that next year is already booked at the time of year we were looking to stay again. The location is great and facilities are fantastic. Thank you for ensuring our stay was once again a most enjoyable one.

This accommodation is perfect for families with dogs.

It is a doggy heaven - so much freedom with the land and river and very well catered for in the cottage. Very rare as there are usually so many restrictions. Also the pool is absolute luxury - people of all ages can have a relaxing wonderful time here.

The site and the house were excellent, the facilities exceeded our expectations, and even the weather couldn't dent our pleasure and enjoyment of this picturesque location.

The park is an absolute haven for peace and tranquility and a walk with the dogs was an absolute treat for all. The pool was a delight and beautifully maintained. The comfort of the house really added to the enjoyment particularly in the cold spell that we experienced in March when snow appeared over the weekend. The underfloor heating made the stay perfect, I didn't want to leave! If there was to be any improvement it maybe the heating upstairs for those who like lounging in bed a little longer but it was a good incentive to get up and get outside and enjoy the outdoors! Brilliant thank you.

Facilities were excellent, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

However, having wifi inside the cottage would have made it even better.
