1 Queensway Gardens

The house is adequate for 2 people, I would say for 4 would it be a bit small.

The bedrooms especially the 2nd one is very small. The beds are very low to the floor. The lounge doesn't have enough comfortable seats for a group of 4 people. The kitchen is badly equipped with only 4 breakfast bowls, 3 good size mugs and 2 large drinking glasses. Consequently we were always washing up. There were no instruction manuals so using the hob,oven,coffee maker was a challenge. The kitchen did not have a fire extinguisher, none of the doors were fire doors. This is a safety feature that all rental properties should have. The garden was a trip hazard with uneven paving slabs and 2 large raised man hole covers. Also a pile of rubble from a collapsed garden wall. The garden furniture was made up of small wooden slats and wasn't comfortable. These issues remained a concern throughout our stay. I will end on a good note. The shower room and bathroom were very good, although the bathroom window was jammed shut. I feel the property's description does not accurately reflect its condition and facilities.

Toilet seat and toaster were broken when we arrived these were replaced after a few days while we were out.

Side gates were unlockable and unusable! Accommodation was sufficient.

Toaster was broken on arrival but that is literally the only thing I have to say.

The accommodation was perfect for us.

It was a quiet area of Hayle, but only about 5 minutes walk to the main street and the facilities. The property was well thought out with under cover parking for one car and a secure garden for our dog. The two bedrooms were small, but one featured an en suite with great walk in shower and the other had a bathroom next door which featured a shower over the bath. There was also a downstairs loo to save climbing the stairs. Everything was thought of, we felt and very clean and comfortable. A couple of minor points I should mention are that there isn’t much space around the double beds in the bedrooms. So it’s a bit of a squeeze getting around the bed if you’re the person sleeping on the far side. (We aren’t big people) Also the kettle lid was faulty so care has to be taken when filling and pouring. We really enjoyed our stay here and would like to thank the owners for making it available for holiday let.

Super clean with everything you need.

Not a coffee drinker, but thought the Nespresso machine was a nice touch! As it was raining quite a bit the washing machine was much needed for muddy clothes. Beds really comfy. My own bed is quite high but didn’t affect me sleeping in a much lower bed as the mattress was excellent quality. Excellent furnishings, comfortable and in excellent shape. Towels that dry you! Excellent quality. Kitchen has everything you need to cook meals at home. ASDA, Lidl, and M&S very close by- all in Hayle. Great spot as if you want to leave the car, the train station is not far and there are excellent bus links T1 to Penzance that goes through Newlyn and T2 to St Ives. Highly recommend and would book again.

Lovely property was clean, bedrooms little tight to walk around, shower in ensuite was great and parking the car was abit awkward getting in but overall was nice and had a private garden.

the walk to the beach would of taken awhile if carrying things for the beach but generally everything was great

Had a great time at the place.

Everything was quite clean. Rooms were comfortable. Kitchen was also well supplied with utensils and cooking kitchenware, very suitable for us as we like to have home cooked food most often. Only room of improvement that I see is if other toiletries could be supplied such as shampoo, body wash, etc apart from just the cake of soap.

A fantastic house for a beach holiday.

The house was spotless and had everything we needed, the kitchen is super equipped. The location is perfect, 15 minute walk to the harbour and beach. We loved the door that opens to the garden which was fully enclosed for our dog. Very happy with sykes cottages service as I was poorly and they helped to change our dates and went out of their way ro assist me.

Property is well equipped with everything you could need and it is very clean with bi folding doors out onto a secure garden which is great if you have a dog with you.

It is well situated to explore Hayle with everything within a short walk. Beautiful beach and plenty of places for nice food I would recommend The Terrace, Gilbert’s and The Secret Quay Kitchen. Train station is also a short walk we visited St Ives and Penzance both of which are short journeys.

Very disappointed Not very comfortable seats ,lack of glasses and mugs for drinks.

No freeview tv for ease of use .Cramped bedrooms hardly enough space to move around.

We stayed over the Christmas and New Year period for 12 nights.

Along with our house cats, who we appreciated being able to stay with us. The house is comfortable, warm ( you can adjust the radiators to suit), and plenty of hot water. The downstairs living space is nice ,with a very large screen TV and a modern kitchen. WiFi was easy to use. We cooked Christmas dinner with no issues. Our house cats were safely limited to the living area, which had large patio doors to view the garden. There is parking in a covered car port right outside the front door. We know Hayle, and it was great to be able to walk to many facilities in the town. We would recommend, and hopefully will be back for another stay.

The location worked well for us, 10 minute walk from the train station and down the hill to Copperhouse Pool and shops.

Most of the facilities/equipment were fine. Like other Reviewers we'd have appreciated an additional comfy seat in the lounge. Also an occasional table for the settee area. Main concern was the dangerous toilet seats! All three were loose and slid side to side. Your Cleaner MUST have known about this so it was totally irresponsible to allow guests in to use the property with them like that, resulting in a finger injury to my right hand, and lucky you that no more serious injuries resulted, especially with an 80 year old in our party. To your credit, the seats were rectified the following day, but only after the stress of my having to contact you, through your emergency number....and an email. It is also a fact that by the time guests have occupied the properties you manage, often on a Friday, and discovered problems, your office is closed....for the weekend! It was a nice touch to find various spices & condiments in the kitchen cupboard & the makings for a cream tea. Nice.

The property is well placed to explore this part of Cornwall It was very clean inside with ample amounts of toilet rolls and towels provided but sadly a large amount of dog poo had to be picked up from the garden The scones and tea bags were a lovely touch The living room would benefit from another armchair and a bistro set on the patio would be lovely as the garden is very private All in all a good stay !

The holiday property was clean, practical and in a good location for exploring Cornwall.

It could be improved with a rug and coffee table in the lounge area and a few pictures on the walls. The garden was a little unkept and would benefit from a few plants. However, overall it suited our needs very well. The milk, tea and Cornish Fairings were much appreciated.

Property was located in a very convenient position for all pubs and shops, leas than an 8 minute walk.

Also very convenient short walk to railway station. House was very clean on entry, beds very comfy. Good showers in bathrooms. House was pretty well equipped but would benefit from a washing line in garden. Description stated garden furniture but only 2 foldaway camping chairs. Has full size dishwashers but more needed as need to put dishwasher on half full. Also a coffee table/ side table would be beneficial. Tea, coffee, biscuits,milk dishwashers tablets, tea towels etc were good. Would have preferred a blind on kitchen window for added privacy. All in all a good property in an excellent position.

Good location near to train station,comfortable beds and clean throughout and only small criticism I can say is property only has a sofa and could benefit from an armchair and a table and chairs for the garden

The cleanliness of the cottage was amazing.

May I suggest a few additions that would have made our stay just a little bit more special and easier after a long day visiting the surrounding areas. Garden furniture for sitting outside to enjoy breakfast in the sun at the end of the day. More cutlery. Extra knives for buttering bread for example. A better setup of furniture in the living room maybe an easy chair so four adults could have sat comfortably chatting about the days adventures. Small things, but these things do make a difference to staying in cottage. Having said all that, with these few changes, we would have no problem recommending this cottage.
