“The Hayloft is a wonderful property and if you are seeking a quiet location, this is the place.”

It is well equipped, clean and spacious. We were lucky to see the resident owl on several occasions and local wildlife was always around to greet us on the road in. We would like to mention that from the outside the Globe Inn in Lostwithiel is rather nondescript but go inside and you will find a very friendly atmosphere, good food and excellent service. Also the Q Street Cafe had good food and service. We found this an excellent location for Eden Sessions, The Minack Theatre, Fowey, Polperro ...

“The Hayloft was excellent in every way; location, facilities, comfort, and we would be happy to recommend and stay there again.”

Only one minor complaint, and that was the shower and bath. The shower was either boiling hot or stone-cold, as it was impossible to mix the water to get a comfortable, even temperature water flow. The shower screen also needs a new seal at the base where it meets the bath. Aside from that, we were very happy and comfortable and is a true gem of a place.

“This wonderful property brings a new level of meaning to seclusion.”

Great accommodation, next to a huge paddock with paths cut in the grass and a sense of tranquility which only an isolated corner of Cornish countryside can offer. The apartment has been fitted out to a decent standard with a welcome emphasis on sustainability when it comes to consumables (shampoo etc) which are provided in generous amounts for free. The owner is on hand to sort out any problems (not that we had any) but other than being super friendly was not intrusive. This is an ideal base for touring Cornwall - St Ives is c.1 hour and the amazing National Trust property Lanhydrock (a must see) less than 10 minutes. Sadly our stay was short and we could not fit in everything we wanted to do (great reason to re-book next year!) but our personal favourite was Port Isaac. But you do need strong legs to do the walk back to the car park!

“We enjoyed and recommend a stay in this well equipped and very peaceful accomodation.”

In the countryside but close to places of interest such as the Eden Project. The warm welcome by the owner plus the milk and other food supplies were greatly appreciated. We were happy to support the owner's environmentally friendly practices. Seeing the Barn Owl flying around the wild flower meadow one evening just outside the lounge window is a great memory.

“We loved the view and the peace and quiet.”

It’s a joyful, soothing place, which is near walks and places to visit. We saw deer, rabbits, moles digging their holes, and lots of birds in the wildflower meadow that the hayloft looks over. We walked, we read, and had some lovely days out. It’s very close to Lanhydrock (NT) which was our main reason for the visit, but eating out in Lostwithiel and the nearby Duchy of Cornwall nursery, and visiting Fowey were other highlights. Jamie made us feel very welcome. We will visit again.

A delightfully peaceful country town, nestling in the Fowey river valley amid the woods and fields that characterise the area. Renowned as a centre for the antiques trade, there are several shops and dealers in the town, as well as a fine collection of country pubs, restaurants and a thriving farmer’s market. Lanhydrock House (NT) and gardens is just 3 miles away, while the fabulous Boconnoc House, Eden Project, shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour at Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and Padstow, with the famous Rick Stein restaurants, are all within easy driving distance.
