“We enjoyed our stay at The Stable Barn.”

We found the cottage was comfortable and was well equipped with more than the majority of items for kitchen. The location was great for exploring Cornwall and accessing various surrounding areas within 30mins or so. Our children enjoyed playing with the toys within the cottage in the mornings before we headed out. Location: this cottage is down a country road and then onto farm land, but there’s no signage before turning onto the farm land that mentions the name of the cottage or the Trewoone Holidays (on which the cottage is located on) this would be very helpful as the house number provided was not visible on the road / no signage before turning onto the farm road. We didn’t have any communication with the owners, other than calling and leaving them a voicemail on our way, and then calling them when we arrived. The TV is not a smart TV as mentioned on the listing and for the short periods we used it, the signal was abit iffy. We were grateful for a washing machine, but could not find a clothes airer or a washing line with pegs. This would have been very useful. We didn’t contact the hosts to ask for these items, we made it work. But those items maybe helpful for having days at beaches nearby etc. There was no furniture on the upstairs patio. We were aware that we were on a working farm and no issues with this really. Our only discomfort with this was that there was at least one “working” dog that must have been housed over night, behind the cottage. It barked an awful lot during the night. Luckily not disturbing our children, but it woke us up multiple times each night. Sometimes barking for over 10 minutes at a time. Overall we have a great short break here and found local amenities close by and we generally stayed out visiting attractions for most of our day.

Thank you very much for your feedback and we appreciate the time it took to write it. We have taken on some of the comments and implemented those, we have a sign ordered for the end of the road. We do have clothes airers available. Please do contact us anytime during your stay and we can help you locate those and assist with things to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We are so glad your children enjoyed the toys. We hope to welcome you back sometime in the future. All the best from Trewoone. Property Owner

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 6.3 miles; Penzance 7.4 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters, and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafés where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries, or admire the colourful sub-tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre, Falmouth Maritime Museum, Eden Project, St. Michael’s Mount and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
