“The property does need some updating, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom, and both rooms could also do with a thorough clean and re-painting and the window blinds all need replacing.”

The kitchen is very well equipped, but the ancient fridge needs replacing. The owner has changed the heating system from an oil boiler to electric heaters, which are really not effective enough for keeping a property of this type warm, and are controlled by the owner on WIFI, which meant we kept having to ask her to put the thermostat up and put the heat on at more relevant times, which she did do, but it was quite annoying to have to constantly have to ask, particularly as the phone signal is ...

The kitchen is very well equipped, but the ancient fridge needs replacing. The owner has changed the heating system from an oil boiler to electric heaters, which are really not effective enough for keeping a property of this type warm, and are controlled by the owner on WIFI, which meant we kept having to ask her to put the thermostat up and put the heat on at more relevant times, which she did do, but it was quite annoying to have to constantly have to ask, particularly as the phone signal is non existent, and she was often not in. It's probably fine during the hot summer months, when the doors to the garden are open, and more time is spent eating outside, but it feels a bit cool and damp on wet and windy days. The Three Tuns pub in St Keverne is excellent and also does take away pizza, and the village shop also well stocked. It would be useful if the owner could be contacted by Whatsapp as it would be more reliable than landline and mobile contact numbers.

“ after weeks of glorious weather this couple were very unlucky. They arrived at the end of a day of pouring rain which continued for most of their holiday, damp and grey if not particularly cold. Heating, like the comfort of beds is very subjective. The new heating system installed by the manufacturers is state of the arch. The temperature is set to their recommended programme. This is intended to offer reasonable comfort with maximum efficiency. For ultimate cosiness there is a large modern wood burner in the lounge. These visitors were hardly in the door before they claimed it was cold and damp ( it was certainly very damp outside) I turned up the heat by two degrees, well over the temperature of my own property. They only asked about the heat on one further occasion in the morning when he wanted to know if it was ever turned off. It is not , it goes to Eco. I turned it up again and they promptly went out for the day. I refute the comments on both cleanliness and repainting. The cottage is cleaned very thoroughly between guests, including de cobwebbing the vaulted lounge ceiling and washing both kitchen and bathroom floor. Paintwork is also dealt with regularly and Any scuffs or marks again painted between customers. “ Property Owner

About the location

ST KEVERNE

Helston 12 miles.

On the eastern side of The Lizard Peninsula, the pretty village of St Keverne, lying just 1.25 miles inland, is the focal point for this area, with its village pubs and shops surrounding the village square, and an impressive church spire, at one time used to guide the Cornish fishermen home. From St Keverne, you can easily explore the natural and spectacular beauty of the Lizard Peninsula by car, bicycle or on foot. You will find walled fishing harbours, tiny secret coves, sandy bays and dramatic clifftop walks along the South West Coastal path. Just north is the Helford River, a yachtsman's dream and home to Frenchman's Creek, and picturesque Helford village. A short walk takes you to Roskilly’s Farm, where you can tuck in to ice cream to die for. Further afield, visit Falmouth, with one of the world's largest natural harbours, Pendennis Castle built by Henry VIII, and of course you cannot miss out on a trip to The National Maritime Museum.
