Little Trethellan
Description
Little Trethellan is a detached holiday home situated in the quiet hamlet of Trethellan, close to the village of Lanner in Cornwall.
Set across a single level, it has a straightforward, easy-to-use layout that works well for couples or small families, including those travelling with a dog.
Its countryside position puts you within convenient reach of both the Cornish coastline and inland walking routes.
The open-plan living space brings together the kitchen, dining area and sitting room in one welcoming setting.
The kitchen includes everything required for a self-catered break, oven, hob, fridge, freezer, kettle and toaster, so you can prepare meals without any fuss.
A dining table is provided for shared meals, and the sitting area offers comfortable seating along with a woodburning stove, a pleasant spot to relax after time spent outdoors.
The property has two bedrooms: one with a super-king-size bed and another with a double, giving flexibility for different groups.
A family bathroom completes the interior, fitted with a bath with shower over, basin and WC.
Outside, an enclosed garden with a lawn and outdoor furniture offers a private space to enjoy a drink in the fresh air or unwind at the end of the day.
Off-road parking is also available for added convenience.
The surrounding countryside features quiet lanes and footpaths ideal for dog walking or gentle exploring straight from the doorstep.
Stithians Lake provides a fantastic day out with a wide range of watersports including sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking and fishing, alongside scenic off-road walking and cycling routes. For those keen to explore on foot or by bike, a public footpath located directly opposite the property leads to an extensive network of off-road trails.
This includes access to the well-known Kernow Way cycling route, which stretches through beautiful Cornish countryside to the coast at Portreath, as well as the historic Mineral Tramways, offering miles of routes rich in the area’s mining heritage.
Redruth is a short drive away and provides shops, cafés and pubs, while the nearby village of Lanner has useful local amenities.
For coastal outings, Portreath is within easy reach with its sandy beach and access to the South West Coast Path.
St Agnes offers striking clifftop views and independent shops, and Falmouth, slightly further afield, is well worth visiting for its beaches, galleries and maritime heritage.
Tehidy Country Park and the cathedral city of Truro are also close by, giving you further choices for days out.
Little Trethellan serves as a well-placed base for exploring Cornwall’s varied landscapes and attractive towns.

What guests are saying
Little Trethellen was cosy and comfortable, and so quiet.
It has a certain charm about it, that makes you fall in love with it as you cross the threshold. The 'Welcome pack' was a lovely gift and very thoughtful, as was the milk in the fridge! We really enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave.
Ok, first of all the good.
lovely beds, very comfy. A very nice property with lots of room and the TV was very good , very warm place but if it was colder it would have been better to have more than 3 logs. It is set in a lovely place and very quiet. unfortunately there were problems. As they say you only get one chance at a first impression and the grass was very long and the property would be better if there was a porch to dry off the dogs before entering. no were to dry clothes. we had a small flood in the kitchen when ever the bath water was let out. The cooker was a bit of a challenge as all the settings were warn away. last but not least the place was not clean and we had to ask for a mop for the floor.
For a cottage sleeping x 4 people, the water supply was very poor indeed (put one tap on and lucky to get anything elsewhere), sometimes with dirty water through the cold feed, the internet access was not good, no entrance mat into the cottage direct from the garden (a problem with dogs, given the lawn was overgrown and mown on our 4th day there), no drying facilities (although a washing m/c is there - which broke down, fridge much too small.
Beds were comfortable and linen very clean. Biggest issue was that arrivals are at teatime on Saturdays and any issues discovered after settling in, one is unable to speak with anyone at Sykes until the Monday, our issues we did not regard as an 'emergency' so where does one go in the meantime as the property reference material not comprehensive enough.
