We thoroughly recommend Seagulls Perch!

A great location with a wonderful view of Mawgan Porth and the sea. Been perfect for our adult family holiday, generous space, comfortably equipped with 2 bedrooms both en-suite plus an extra loo, guaranteed free parking, outside space enjoying the view with seating for alfresco eating and a clothes line for our beach & walking gear. Yes it’s a steep walk to and from the beach but lovely being able to see the state of the waves before walking down to play in them and on the beach. And it’s minutes from the coast path and the stunning cliff walk to Bedruthan Steps.

What a find.

Stunning location, great views, lovely well equipped accommodation. The hosts live just next door and were attentive without intruding. Perfect. Walk to the beach is not for older less agile legs, but our family of 5 loved being only 10 minutes walk from the surf. The North Shore is our favourite and I think we've found our new favourite accommodation.

Lovely property, very clean and comfortable.

Wasn’t keen on the showers as no option to shower without getting hair wet as I didn’t have a shower cap. Good facilities otherwise. Very steep walk to beach so not suitable if elderly or not very fit and not pushchair friendly but beach car park is only £5 all day. Local beach is perfect for everyone, ideal for families of all ages

We had a lovely week in this beautiful place.

The weather was terrible but Seagull's Pearch let us dry off and warm up - and enjoy a glass of wine with a view of the sea from the settee. Arriving and unloading the car was easy as you park literally just outside the front door. We will be back - hopefully next year.

The property was in good condition except there was mold around the bifold doors and the shower window.

We had to clean the mold on the lounge and the bedroom. The main mattress was in need of a change - far too soft.Also the windows in the.lounge were not clean - fingerprints/suction cup marks(!)

The property was perfect, like a home from home.

Cannot recommend seagulls perch enough. The property was outstanding, so clean, so comfortable, you had everything you needed & more. There is a book as well which had a lot of information in it, which I recommend reading through. The area of seagulls perch was amazing! The views…wow! It’s a stone’s throw from the beach too & the beach is beautiful, you have everything you need in Mawgan Porth. I was shocked at prices they were not expensive at all (just odd shop) I can definitely say without a doubt it’s one of the best holidays me, my husband & children have been on…ever! The owners were lovely, they live next door. So welcoming. So I cannot recommend seagulls perch enough, definitely book!

A truly fabulous apartment.

Breathtaking views of the beach and sea. Thoroughly recommend. Would of booked again for next year but it is not available for the week we need. Such a shame. Thank you for a making our holiday so memorable.

Really clean and very well equipped. Great to park outside. Plenty of instructions on how everything works! Lovely spot overlooking beach, and not to busy outside. Have booked for next year.

Very comfortable place , spotlessly clean on arrival had everything we needed and well equipped .

If there was one thing I would like would be a sweeping brush . it would save our backs just using the dust pan and brush. It would mean we didn’t have to get the vacuum out when we made crumbs under the table or bought some sand in on our shoes . This is the second time we have stayed at seagulls rest and would love to come back again

The view from the lounge and first bedroom are simply stunning.

The apartment is spotless and very comfortable and is equipped with everything you are likely to need. The owners live next door, are friendly and helpful but not intrusive.

Seagull's Perch is a very good holiday property made all the better by its fantastic location and view.

It provides everything you need for a great beach holiday. Friendly but not intrusive owner next door, good parking and walk to beach access all be it with a climb back. If there wasn't then there wouldn't be that view! If there was one criticism it was the lack of homeliness. This is a personal thing but things just felt a bit sanitised, perhaps a carry over from Covid. We had a great week and would recommend.

A lovely property in an excellent location.

Great coastal walks from the door and a short walk to the sandy beach at Mawgan Porth. Very comfortable accommodation, with a well-stocked and spacious kitchen and dining area. The weather didn't allow us to really enjoy the decking area, but I'd imagine it is wonderful to enjoy on a sunny evening. An enjoyable stay, thank you.

The property is spacious and well maintained. The views from the lounge and master bedroom were breathtaking! The owners were more than helpful. We will definitely be revisiting.

Comfortable property with all home comforts. Liked that you can offload the car directly by the front door. Lovely beach and good shops a 10 minute steep walk down/up!!

Able to park right out side the accommodation kitchen well stocked with utensils pans etc Good sea views , every thing you need for a holiday home There is a steep walk to the beach but the is a car park right near the beach . Good access to the coast paths for those who like walking

Beautiful house a real home from home.

Spacious comfortable and tastefully decorated. Well equipped kitchen .Fabulous view from the bedroom & living room. Pleasant walk down to the beach , decent restaurants and a very well stocked general store. We had a great time and would recommend.

Fabulous return to Seagulls Perch, just as delightful as 2021 and great to be back (expect won’t be last time).

Some observations: - Disappointing not to have any ‘welcome pack’ to feel valued - need to refresh the wine glasses, only 2-3 of each, no set of 4 - need sharper knives, still Disappointing more so not to receive any response from Sykes to above, having emailed first day. Great stay overall. Lovely place!!

We found seagulls perch clean, modern and having amazing views of the sea.

Perfect for walking down to the beach and local amenities. However, we have a couple of small constructive criticisms. Halfway through our stay most of Mawgan Porth had a power cut which lasted several hours, although this was no fault of the property a torch at the property would be handy in case this happens again. The towels provided were too small, barely bigger than a hand towel had we known we would have brought our own with us and the shower wasn’t very warm, there was no way of increasing the temperature. Overall we enjoyed our stay at seagulls perch. Thank you.

A lovely property in a gorgeous place!

We had a wonderful stay at Seagull's Perch, so much so that we've already booked to stay again next October. The owner lives next door and was very friendly, allowing us to store our surfboards in a safe place outside of his house. Mawgan Porth has super amenities including the 'Beach Box' cafe and the 'Cornish Fresh' store for groceries as well as pasties, pizzas, etc. The beach in within an easy walking distance from the property and is perfect for bodyboarding and surfing. There are also wonderful places likes Padstow, Watergate Bay, and Harlyn Bay nearby. Highly recommend!

Very clean and quiet wonderful views and sunsets everything you could want just a very nice place to stay you certainly need a car as it is at the top of a steep climb by foot

What a find!

Seagull's Perch is an excellent base for a break in the area; the contemporary design and furnishings are of an extremely high standard, creating a stylish and comfortable home from home. In addition, my husband worked from here on several days and found the WiFi signal very strong. The ever changing view from the huge living room and bedroom windows was stunning, just watching the tide going in and out each day, and the magnificent sunsets on the horizon, provided hours of entertainment! Walking down the paths for a brisk walk along the beach, and back again, justified the delicious evening meals in a range of local restaurants. The spacious kitchen at Seagull's Perch was also well equipped, and made cooking an easy option when we stayed in. Brian and Jacquie, the owners, were very friendly and helpful - resolving a few minor issues rapidly and with good humour; it was lovely to meet them and hear their stories. We are planning another visit to Seagull's Perch soon - thank you for creating such a special place to stay!

Lovely house and fantastic views

A beautiful house in an amazing location.

We had everything we needed for a fabulous holiday.

Fab location, overlooks the sea and beach which is only about a 5 to 10 min walk away depending on how agile you are.

It is located on top of a hill but this aspect has a fantastic vantage point. This two bedroom property is big enough to share. The host live next door and are on hand if you need anything but certainly do not invade your space. Like all uk accommodation the prices increase next year and I’m not sure with British weather I want to spend the extra to stay in the uk.

Balcony great for evenings and the bi-fold doors in lounge and bedroom really super touch for air and views - lets the outside ambience in. Just a few minutes stroll from the beach which is ideal for morning walks - yes there’s a hill but various ways down and back. Brian next door is super friendly and informative and not at all intrusive. Fabulous time had by all and would definitely use again. (An outside tap for rinsing beach gear would be a real boon)

Seagulls Perch is an absolute gem hidden in a quaint coastal village.

The sea views from the house are absolutely magical! The open plan house is wonderfully spacious and has everything you need. The owners are lovely and helpful. We found the extras in the house (spare bin liners, kitchen roll etc) an added bonus. The beach is beautiful. The surf school is also great. Near the beach there is a lovely village shop which serves yummy pasties alongside all your everyday needs. There’s lots of food establishments to eat at so we were spoilt for choice. We had such a wonderful time and cannot wait to visit again.

The property was lovely although we would have liked to see a better kitchenware for cooking (we felt everything was sized for two people not cooking for four!). Someone else has commented on the bluntness of the knives and they’re not wrong!! I’d like to see some new ones in there before someone hurts themselves!! The owners who lived in the adjoining property were lovely and approachable.

Seagull's Perch is a beautiful holiday house in a perfect position.

As we had a 4-year old with us and due to the pandemic we ate in every night and found a slight lack of dishes for cooking in the oven and microwave, but we had taken a few extra things with us. Also, I know it's a small thing, but would have appreciated sharper knives, or a knife sharpener available to us. Such a shame that holiday companies are putting their prices up so much for the 2022 season that has meant we were unable to re-book for June next year, which we would have loved to have done. The owners of this property, who live next door, are charming and take a personal interest in their guests and genuinely want to know that all is well and checked we enjoyed our holiday, which we did immensely. Thanks in particular for the loan of a chair for my husband (again!) as he has a bad back and found sitting in the comfy sofa and chairs a little difficult. We wish we were still there!

What an absolute gem!

Seagulls Perch is a stunning property.

Even though we visited during the covid pandemic, we felt very safe as every effort had been made to provide an ultra clean environment. Although facilities had been pared back to absolute minimum, it did not affect our enjoyment of the property in any way. We had a couple of minor issues during our stay but the owners were on hand immediately to sort. Views are fabulous and house is very comfortable with everything you need. We loved our time here - just what we needed!!

! Just a couple of pernickety points - It would be useful to have a long handled broom. Also the size of the larger towels was small so bath sheet size would be better. I would recommend this house as a lovely place to stay.

Seagulls Perch was everything we'd hoped for after reading the property description.

It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and relaxing. In a good position for our coastal walks and for driving to several other locations. Brian introduced himself to check if we had everything we needed but did not [as he said himself] intrude on our holiday.

The accommodation provided is top quality, and everything is taken care of.

The owners have done a top job here. Very clean and tidy. The location is perfect with a good view of the beach and bay. It is a steep walk up from the beach or village, but not a problem if you are fit. All homely items are provided down to tea/coffee, dishwasher and washing machine tablets. A very nice touch was scones and jam and cream waiting for us on arrival. Would definitely come back here again.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Seagulls Perch, it is located in a fabulous position and the accommodation is always presented and maintained well.

The host’s Brian and Jackie always make a point of checking that everything is fine , a nice little touch. They have given us some good tips on walks and drives out which has made the holiday. The position of the apartment and the light airy feeling and space.

Mawgan Porth is well positioned between Newquay and Padstow with lots of opportunities for walking and cycling. There are also lots of places to visit.

So glad we chose Seagulls Perch and would recommend. Lovely ‘Cornish tea’on arrival. Would recommend ‘Catch’ in the village for great seafood and friendly service.

Clean, roomy, modern and cosy with all we need within. Well situated with the finest view and access to the beach and coastal path. Quiet location but with good amenities locally and more distant. Thank you to all involved in making Seagulls Perch such a fantastic experience.

Excellent location for walking sections of south west coast path using public transport.

No need to use a car.

Our holiday exceeded our expectations, the house was just lovely, very clean, all the facilities you could wish for, addicting sea views, close to the hotel for ocassional breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The only area that needs to improve on is that I did not originally receive any information about access, keys etc. frim Sykes Cottages and I had to contact them week before the holiday. The email from booking.com said I would receive this email once the second part of the deposit is taken which did not happen. However, once I contacted Sykes Cottages, the issue was resolved promptly.

This may seem to be a small issue.

But it would have been nice to have been welcomes by the owner(s at some point during our visit). As it was, the only personal contact we had was on the morning we left and returned the key to the security box outside the owners residence which is next door to where we had stayed. However, overall we were pleased with our stay at 'Seagulls Perch'.

The location is excellent with wonderful views out to sea and over part of the beach.

The listing gave an accurate description of the property and area and the facilities were clean and tidy. We especially enjoyed the lounge for relaxing and the patio with table and chairs outside the master bedroom. This was a great place to stay. To improve our experience I would recommend that the owners consider changing the mattress in the front bedroom as one side has a large dip which, when laid on, causes the person to roll into the centre of bed. The double bed in the back bedroom is very firm but rather low and could benefit from an additional mattress raising height and providing extra comfort.

Owners are extremely helpful, welcoming, and obliging with useful information of the area.

The house itself is kept very nice and is in a stunning location (cream tea on arrival was delicious). Just a shame about the no dog policy.

A wok and new baking trays plus a metal spatular would be useful.
