The oven could do with replacing as the grill element was falling off.

Sofas were uncomfortable.outside seating area was very cramped.

Great stay in wonderful Boscastle.

Superb property in an amazing setting

Just three items we would like comment on.

1 You need to adjust the hot water, the temperature is far to high. Especially if young children are staying. 2 In the the bathroom the shower equipment needs updating to a more easy adjustment of the water temperature. 3 More information on rubbish recycling.

A fabulous cottage in a really convenient and quiet location.

Well equipped kitchen with plenty of cupboard space. We were provided with a few dishwasher tablets and laundry capsules as well as washing up liquid, tea towels, dishcloths etc. EV charging was easy to use (38p/KWh). The cream tea and milk on arrival was very much appreciated. We also appreciated the large bath towels! The only minor niggle was that the sofas are very squishy.

Attractive cottage on the start of the harbour.

Car parking limited to a small car at the front of the property. You need to except that a lot of people pass close bye from first thing to late afternoon. I have never been so relaxed on holiday and didn't won't to leave. I will consider booking for next year. Very pleased. Thanks

Our second visit to the cottage.

The best place to stay in Boscastle.

Only the second time I have gone online to re book a property while still on holiday.

Great position ,good facilities, well equipped kitchen ( but so many eat out possibilities on the doorstep I suspect many visitors wouldn't need much) Parking space long enough for a Honda Civic with a little to and fro ing. Only improvement I would welcome - a couple of club chairs or armchairs in place of one of the huge settees- they were fine for lounging on but too low and deep to sit upright to read a paper or book.

We enjoyed our stay at Olde Carpenters Cottage.

Very good to have parking. Would have liked the large bathroom to have been a shower room , instead of a shower inside the bath. It would have been easier for mobility issues. A tv in the double bedroom would have been a nice touch. This lovely cottage is Situated in the heart of Boscastle Harbour. We enjoyed watching Boscastle wake up , and go to sleep. From the small patio, which was made even smaller by the over large patio table!. Ideally place to enjoy the the many walks, the convenience of the pubs and restaurants, and shop was a big plus. If we visit Boscastle again , we would like to be able to stay here again.

I couldn't wait to visit Boscastle, and I wasn't disappointed!

Such a beautiful place and the people were extremely helpful and lovely!. The cottage is gorgeous, with an incredibly well stocked kitchen that was very spacious, light and airy. In fact the whole cottage is wonderfully bright and cheerful. It's not a huge place in the respect of how many rooms, but the rooms it does have are good sizes. Its certainly large enough for four people.There is no back garden, the outside area is in the front of the property. There is quite regular footfall going past most of the day, I can imagine this is much higher during busier periods ( we visited at the very end of may/ beginning of June). This wasn't an issue for us however! The parking space isn't huge, if you have a particularly large car ( as we do) it just meant parking slightly angled so as not to block the lane as it is access to more properties. It wasnt an issue though. There is very little traffic as its a private access only road. Just occasional cars, people and dogs! I really do recommend this cottage. We really didn't want to leave. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short by two days. I would definitely have preferred to stay the five nights. We will be back!!

We stayed in this cottage 16 years ago watching Boscastle slowly wake up then swiftly emptying later on leaving the harbour town to just the locals and us.

Lots of walking nearby and perfect for sightseeing. Lovely clean cottage which had everything you need for a short stay.

Lovely cottage in a fab location.

Really clean and tidy with all the amenities needed. Our 3rd stay here and still lots to do and see around the area.

There were only two niggles in what was a wonderful second visit to this cottage.

First, the duvet had presumably been washed and the filling had clumped together making it very lumpy and unpleasant to use. Second, there was just one handwritten line in the cottage manual to indicate that a new heating system control had been installed, with no instructions on how to reset it when the hour changed. Small niggles, easily sorted and neither will stop us returning next year.

A beautiful cottage fully equipped, cosy and spotless.

I felt so lucky to have finally stayed in this wonderful little place after walking by so many times in the past. The cream tea and flowers were a truly personal touch and I will definitely return.

Loved it as we did previously. Great location and the cottage had everything we need. There was a boiler issue (which wasn't a problem for us as we didn't need the heating and there was an electric shower as backup in the en-suite). This was dealt with super efficiently within 24 hours by Sykes.

Excellent place to stay.

However, hot water system to family bathroom needs to be looked at as it does not maintain a constant temperature

Wanted to come back to Boscastle for many years after visiting with my late husband so this was a very special holiday with my friend & I certainly picked the right cottage.

Please feel very proud of how homely & welcoming it is & when we were sat outside I was telling all the people we spoke to about it

We really couldn't fault the property and had a great time - even the great British weather helped with some sunshine!

Lovely cottage , great space , nice ambiance about the cottage Very well equipped , every conceivable utensil, etc was to hand Owner has been in conversation with us , as we stayed at the cottage / during our wedding in the gardens opposite, and used the cottage as a hair and make up saloon, and champagne bar for Lisa as the ladies got ready or the ceremonies ❤️

we had a wonderful time once again this is our 3rd time in the cottage and we will be booking for next year so any deals we would appreciate we love boscastle so relaxing dont ever stop renting the cottage out when we came last year fatherinlaw had heart attack first day but all went well this time with him our little dog loves the river paddling she didnt want to come home any good deals to book cottage asap or cheap deposit as we want to book in early at a good price thanks for sharing the cottage with us lyn

Great location.

Parking space is very small, only suitable for a small car. A light bulb was missing in the kitchen. Only three dishwasher tablets provided for a week. En suite is useful but very cramped. The cottage is over priced. Other than above, very comfortable.

We had a lovely stay, helped by the beautiful weather.

The property is very pretty on the outside and comfortable inside and had everything we needed. The owners are very quick to address issues mentioned in previous reviews (gate fitted, someone looking at the windows as we left). It is ideally located in that you are close to everything (lovely shops, places to eat , the harbour and walks) but the downside of that is that it isn't very private when you are sitting out.I would say that parking is tight but the windows guy managed to get an enormous truck in with room for other vehicles to get by. Recycling is an issue. There no longer seem to be bins on the car parks and the tip was closed when we took everything the day before we left. Generally a lovely place and we will return.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage.

We found everything we needed and were very comfortable. The welcome scones were greatly appreciated by our boys! Great to see a gate had been added to make the patio secure for our dog. Some of the windows were very stiff and wouldn’t open. Would be good to ensure they can all be opened as good for ventilation (especially in the porch area). It was really good to have a parking space (no problems with our X5). We will very likely be back again!

Olde Carpenters Cottage overall is a good cottage in a good location but extremely overpriced for July.

It was generally clean & comfortable and good to have parking and be close to village. There are several areas that require improving, for example: poor cleanliness of toilets-others hairs etc, black mould on main bathroom walls as well as behind bedroom curtains and net curtains, no hand soap in kitchen which is very basic, Only one towel each which is just cheap. It is not private as everyone that walks past looks into lounge. It is simply not worth the money in July(£1330 1 week) and I feel for the owners as Sykes cannot manage fish in a bowl. I provided feedback directly to owner who provided a very basic response, not stating she will pass to Sykes which gives the impression that she doesn’t care, effective communication is simple. Sykes phoned but I was busy and they stated they would call back but nothing so advised owner again who said she would chase up but after some days….nothing. Very unprofessional and clearly Sykes do not care. I would not recommend Sykes and would only return to Olde Carpenters if price was right and all issues resolved.

We visit Boscastle a lot and the Olde Carpenters Cottage is probably the best we have rented there.

It is perfectly located it is equipped with everything you require and the furnishing is very high quality. The cottage was very clean and the nice touches of cream scones and flowers on arrival was appreciated. Would I recommend it. Yes. Would I rent it again. Yes. Wonderful.

Another enjoyable stay at the cottage.

This is our second time and it’s such a lovely place to stay with everything you could want in a cottage. The position is perfect and we had fantastic weather which is always a bonus. Will definitely be back.

Could have done with another towel each.

Fortunately my friend brought some with her. None were left in the twin room either. Bin liners were mentioned but we didn't find any. I took some with me fortunately.

We loved our time in Boscastle!

The house is comfortable and spacious! The perfect location to walk in the town and towards the water. A very restful and cozy time for us.

Toiler seat in on suite needs attention, could do with a new non stick frying pan but this was 2nd stay and would come again.

Very well equipped, comfortable, warm and quiet. Smart TV a bonus in the winter. We managed to park a skoda kodiaq in the parking space.

A real home from home. Many walks from the front door, never used our car all week. Definitely recommended.

Cottage was comfortable and well equipped.

The location is beautiful and there are good places to eat nearby, even for someone on a gluten-free diet. Parking is quite tight if you have a large car and turning the car in the road isn't easy, especially if there are lots of walkers around but this wouldn't stop us booking again!

Many of walks nearby and close to popular tourist attractions and towns. The parking was good outside the cottage but could be a problem for big cars. Had a fantastic week.

Lovely little cottage in a prime position and quiet in the evenings.

Parking takes a bit of manoeuvring but great to have your own spot. All mod cons provided and a welcome pack with my favourite things. Recommend highly for all ages.

the only negative was that the cleaners were outside at 9.45 on check out day which made us rush

Fabulous cottage in a great location.

A great welcome pack and the drying rack in the bathroom came in useful. Lots of returning guests in the visitors book which is always a good sign. One small suggestion to improve things would be to update the stereo system-DAB and Bluetooth are a minimum nowadays. Many thanks.
