“We booked this property for a short break for a group of four.”

The property itself is easy to fin and the rooms all a good size and very comfortable - the kitchen with its large table was a favourite meeting/talking spot and the lounge very comfortable. The bedrooms were a good size and beds comfortable, although clothes storage is quite limited for anything other than a short break and the lower ground bedroom has quite a low ceiling for those that are tall. The bathrooms are as described although it would be beneficial to have some form of shower in there as a bath alone isn't hugely practical (but does look good), as it means you really need to share the downstairs wet room if you just shower. The wet room itself is slightly problematic as it gets and stays very wet, as does everything inside it, including things like toilet rolls - especially when four people are using it. Whilst it wasn't a huge problem and didn't detract from our stay it doesn't make for the best experience. Overall the place is really nice and in a convenient location for things in the area, and road noise wasn't an issue (not even the band in the social club directly opposite - unless you are a very light sleeper. As long as you are happy sharing a bathroom the convenience and comfort make this property worth considering.

This charming duplex apartment on the ground floor of a beautifully restored Victorian house is ideal for a couple or small family eager to discover Cornwall's many attractions.

The apartment's contemporary interior is complemented by the home's elegant touches and sophisticated oak floors.

Once inside your new home, you'll find a stylish and fully-equipped kitchen, perfect for whipping up family meals that can be eaten indoors or out on the private balcony overlooking the cityscape below.

After a long day of exploring, relax with a hot bath or a refreshing rain shower in the bathroom or wet room, respectively, on the ground level or the lower ground floor, before drifting off to sleep in one of two king-size bedrooms.

From St. Austell, you can easily visit the rest of Cornwall, which is rich in diverse attractions.

It's not far to drive to Porthpean, known for its sandy beach and coastal golf course, and Charlestown, a historic harbour known for its tall ships and as the filming location for the BBC's Poldark.

Enjoy the lovely fishing village of Mevagissey or the golden sands of Pentewan Beach on the coast, or stay inland and visit the surrounding rainforest biomes, world-renowned Eden Project, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Fowey, a fishing and shipping town with a plethora of unique stores, waterfront eateries, and watering holes, is a bit further out but definitely worth the trip.

Whisk your loved ones away to Hillcroft.
